  • Its kind of ironic that the white girl's name sounds like Asia.

  • What if you have 1.5 eyelids? Double eyelids that fold under at the inner corners so that they become single eyelids. Everything disappears under the fold when I open my eyes.

  • is he from rhode island?

  • Must say, these tutorials are one of the best I've seen in youtube

  • I like him, at least he know how to teach and tips are useful.

  • i'm not an asian, and i'd really like asian eyes, atleast try it. But i dont have that color you tried on Asyah, could i use any color i'd like to my eyes?

i have darkblue eyes, is there any recomendation of a special color?

thank u for the video! loved it.

  • asyah looks goerguos

    wooooooooow

  • Lmao. Miss Asyah. How appropriate.

  • The model who is being used for the smoky eye is so cute.

  • oh guys she is not asian the last girt at all they just used her to show the make up way to make ur eyes more expressive even when u not asian like me !

  • Sarah is BEAUTIFUL.

    My God. :)

  • wow great tips thankyou your an isparation to me cos i want to be a makeup artist im hopefully going to do a course in 2years thanks again you rock

  • she's wearing circle lenses! lol

but still these models have double eyelids still.. i don't.... T___T

  • how do I get rid of the shadow under my chin cuse I puck my hairs alot under there I try to cover it but it fades away ....I was told it looks like I shave a gold tee like a man.....Help

  • wat lol

  • Asyah got a beautiful face , for real!

  • was the lady at 3:00 mixed race because she had what looked like realy beautiful blue eyes?

  • She probably wears circle lense or dark gray contact. I don't know

  • they're called contacts

  • to me, she looks like she's just wearing colored contacts.

she looks a bit too oriental to be mixed..but then, i don't know.

  • at first i though sarah had two differnt eye colors lol

  • Great skill & great explanation... Really awesome! Just wonder if you have more/other eye make up looks for Asian girls? I know Asian looks better with smokey eyes but would really love to try other techniques too coz Im Asian who have heavy eyelids that made my eyes look droopy :(

  • sarah has really pretty eyes!

  • nice eyeshadows, but I really don't like the unfinsihed look. I mean no mascara? and I want to see a really smoky eye, with blacks, not really really dark green. Also I find my eyes look bigger with white liner in the waterline, black only makes them look smaller and slanter. And also, the last girl didn't look asian anywhere with the makeup. sorry.

  • I finally bought some eyeshadow to do the smoky eyes, but my mom says I look filthy or like I got beat up and have two black eyes. She says she's embarrassed for me!

How dark should my darkest color be? Any color suggestions? Also, maybe my dark shade was too dark because I had trouble blending it with the medium shade to get a nice gradient. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • By far one of the most helpful videos for Asian eyes I've seen on YouTube! I'm very excited to try the smoky eyes look now. Thanks for the makeup tips!

  • do you wet ur brush b4 u apply ur shadows???

  • There are shadows that can be applied wety/dry and A few companies, LORAC is one, sell an activator lotion to use any shadow wet. For these looks, and usually, I use dry shadows dry. My favorite eyeliner however is cake eyeliner and it is water activated. Thank you.

  • I'm Asian and I use the last technique in the application of my makeup. It looks GREAT on my eyes.. ladies if you have a small crease, try the last look!!

  • good vid, but the last girl really to me doesn't look like her eyes are really asianish

  • he said he wanted to try it on someone who wasnt Asian

  • thanks for using very asian woman if that makes any sense. Great tips, thank you.

  • that's awesome! thank you so much

  • do you have to have double-eyelids to do these makeup tricks and stuff??

  • The bright eye look is great for the "single" eye lid as is the smoky eye. Remember, eyeliner is your friend. Take it everywhere!

  • i want to know what is the contour/crease eyeshadow brush your using

  • I use all of my own brushes that are available at my website either as single brushes or as a ridiculously low-priced set. Go to my YouTube home page and click on the link to Makeup Gourmet web site and get happy!

  • i want to know what is the contour/crease eyeshadow brush your using

  • Heey! Um...I'm a 15 year old Chinese girl who has just started trying on makeup, but I always end up looking 10 years older. Is it possible to still look youthful yet enhance your features at the same time?

  • I think the "Bright eye" look is the youngest of the 3 looks. It is in Part 1 of this episode. It will give you the effect you want. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • i like his hands because they dont look old hehe

  • Thank you so much, this was really helpful !

  • she looks like Sarah Brightman..

  • lol

  • Well, the video is nice, but the last model really doesn't look like an asian. Sorry, but that's what I think.

  • er...because he was trying to show people how to do the same time of cat eye make up even if u don't have "slanty" asian eyes... hence the title of the episode "even if you're not (asian)

  • ooo i spoke too fast!

  • it woulda been nice if he had done it on atleast ONE person who wasn't asian, to support his title.

  • The last girl isn't Asian. She just has dark hair.

  • the model has gorgeous eyes.

  • Love your subtle, elegant look.

  • Wow, I completely love this video. I've watched it three times today just to soak in all your tips - which, by the way, are constructive and informative at the same time. I love how you didn't say anything about how asian eyes aren't "normal", like I've seen in other videos.

Definitely subscribing and I look forward to seeing your videos!

  • the first model in part 2 is still asian...she's most likely filipino

  • i don't have double eyelids, nor are my eyes deep...how do i make my eyes look huge??? ^-^

  • First focus on your brows. Probably use a powder and a brush to enhance as much as possiple the length and arch of your brow. Secondly, line the the entire length of your eye top and bottom making the outer half thicken as it goes outwards. Both of these tips will maximize the eyes you have.

  • The white girl is named "Asyah" = Asia??

    *snort-giggle*

  • Again, thanks for uploading! My mom is half-asian as you may know. And she often uses these same tips. Smoky eye is her absolute favorite! She uses it almost everyday, and often gets compliments on her make-up. People ask her all the time, "Why don't you have *squinchy?* eyes?" She replies, "Hellooo? Don't you know how to use make-up?" You're very professional, and am very happy you are sharing these tips and techniques among the world! I love Makeup Gourmet. Thank-you!

  • this video is very, very helpful. i use the smoky eye technique every day now.

  • I'm glad finally someone is giving tips for other types of asian eyes than the cliche "single lid" and really explains color placement plus the reasoning behind using such shades! This is beyond helpful.

  • i really enjoyed this episode so much. it was so helpful! i always have trouble putting eyeliner on because i don't have a crease. if you ever make another asian eye makeup video, i'd love to see you use a model without a crease.

  • really helpful video. thanks.

  • smokey eyes for mature women? is it possible???

  • Sure, why not? Wear an intensity of shadow that you are comfortable with and apply away. All it will do is bring out more of the shape of your eyes.

  • Thank you for the makeup tips. I love the smoky eye look. However, I noticed that in both Part 1 and 2 of your videos, you used deep green liner often. I'm Chinese. Is it better to use deep colours (green, blue), rather than neutral black or brown to line the eyes?

  • First of all, very astute observation on the color choice. Unless I want the eyeliner to be noticed for its color, i choose a color that is as dark or darker than your natural eye color. Since brown or black is usually the default choice, I wanted to show the viewer options by using a darker shade of a color other than brown or black.

  • This isn't really a comment on the video itself, and I don't really have particular interest in make-up, but I do think it's pretty cool that you respond directly to people's questions and comments.

  • Great video, learnt so many things.

  • nice. what brand of liner did you use for sarah's makeup?

  • It looks like 3 different brands. I think I used Shu Uemura, Cargo and not sure what the dark shade is. I used matte shadows to keep the look smoky and soft.

  • I am looking for makeup brushes. which brand do you recommend?

  • Thank you for the tips on Asian eyes! Can't wait to try out the techniques. I love how you have used models with eye shapes that are realistic (Not too big or too small) Great work! - JUST BEAUTIFUL!

  • I loved the makeup you did on Asyah! Thank you so much for all the great tips :)

  • Thank you. I was hoping to reach out to the universal eye with that segment. Glad you got it.
