  • MS3 resale value sucks balls

  • @mazdaspeedemon3 its not that bad, the rx8 is much worse, i dont know if its just where im looking but i haven't seen a MPS3 for under 10k but i see tons of RX8's less then 10k up to the 2006 model year...

  • Cobalt SS !!!

  • Lack of of power-WHAT?-the ralliart gets 0-60 in 5.5 seconds.

  • cobalt has good power, but its ugly, and the int' is shitty looking. I pick the wrx, its the best looking, still has good power, and awd (which costs alot more to make than fwd)

  • i beat a 08 wrx with my 06 supercharged cobalt last night... different cars and years, i know... same results

  • Before you read all these other comments. Do some highway runs with all these cars stock.. The cobalt ss and it's top end with it's K04 turbo will win. Under 3000 pounds. 18psi max with a steady 15psi and no lift shifting. Just waiting to be tuned to 23psi safely on all stock parts. MS3 are fast, but have bad mileage. Wrx has launch compared to top end. I perfer top end and passing cars up.

  • hmm lets see one of the best cornering cars, one of the cheapest, one of the fastest, and comes standard with almost everything. Very fun to drive and one of the top selling cars in NA and Europe beating out honda. Hmm yes i understand spending the extra thousands to stay slightly faster then the 3. Don't ask who paid off car and driver, aak who paid off the world.

  • They only produced 2,537 Cobalt SS's in 2009.

    120 of those are yellow.

My car is 1 of 120.

Info provided by GM tuner source.

  • zoom zoom!

  • SRT-4

  • with a 24mm rear sway bar, the WRX stops understeering and will eat any of these car by moon distance! :S been on the track vs the mazda 3 , and shes goin out of corners trying to follow :) I know tires are important , but it is way too much to put it only on tires ;) SUBIES FTW! still cant decide wich is better between 6 spds and 5 spds on the track, my friend sti 2006 does the same time as me with my wrx 09 :P i feel that with the 5th speed im always on boost, 6spds seems often under boost rpm

  • @medontliketrolls Well, is their defense, even with Insideline the current Mazdaspeed 3 and even the last gen one has never lost a comparison. Its just a great car....

  • The Cobalt, MS3, and GTI owners skeet in the general direction of the silly comments about FWD not being fun or competent.

  • rofl cobolt over a wrx? c'mon...

  • vw gti beats subaru wrx ? On what FREAKING world ?

  • Plaid seats = gay

  • Bullshit, plain an' simple. Car and Driver, you sold out.

  • Get that Cobalt SS out of my face. No way does that beat a Suburu WRX. What the hell is wrong with you Car and Driver?

  • The Lancer and the impreza are in anouther league than the rest of these FWD shit wagons. FWD isnt near as fun to drive.

  • bull fuckin shit

  • @A2Bproductions If you want facts go to the manufactures website. If you want something tangible watch Car and Driver.

  • Why does C&D insist on comparing the interior of cars to their speed? Leather seats aint gonna make the car go faster. With that said, the balt should have been #2.

  • all the cars on this video has been updated with new version i wanna see an updated video i doubt the 2010 speed 3 will win with that ugly ass body and front smile

  • Madza speed? Contradiction much?

  • they forgot the 2008 350z.

  • @robgp69 I don't think a 350Z is a 4 door -.-

  • @54FLEX45 and the RS is nice, but with 300+hp it barely hit 0-60 high 5, wasn't it like 5.9 or 5.8, and whats the cost on that... Oh and let's not forget you can't even get in the US, not yet at least... So yeah I'll stick with my speed 3

  • @54FLEX45 now that's funny, do you know me to say I have no track experience, no you don't, sure the WRX can be quicker, from a dig, and what you gotta drop the clutch at 5k to launch, let's see how long that glass tranny last, and hate to spoil the party but the WRX ain't quicker around the track... Speed 3 wasn't meant for 0-60, but it sure was made for the track or the twisties

  • I went out test driving cars today and I want either the GTi, Speed 3 or WRK sedan.

  • stop buying the ugly 4doors

  • 07mazdaspeed>10mazdaspeed

  • For all that complain about torque steer, I think it's time you hit the gym and get some muscle... I prefer to feel that torque steer, it lets me know what's going on... And I love blowing by GTIs and Sis, and my speed3 gets about 25 miles per gallon mix city/highway, now if I'm driving it like I stole it then yes mpg slips to about 20-21 but I don't care cause I'm having fun... If you want to bitch about mpgs, maybe you should get the new elantra and have a numb driving experience LMFAO

  • @cezary1113 "I prefer to feel that torque steer"... Pfft. You obviously have no true track experience or any real performance driving experience to come out with a statement like that. Truth is, the WRX is quicker and handles better than the Mazda and doesn't suffer torque steer(obviously)... The decision here is obvious, despite what these American idiots say. The only FWD performance car engineered to be truly great with big power is the Focus RS. The rest are rubbish.... bottom line.

  • FWD isnt a race drivers choice ask any pro race car driver they like RWD and AWD cars. although there are alot of FWD cars i like i cant say much but FWD was only created to be the cheapest way to build a car but i do like alot of cars that are FWD but i would prefer if you want to be a racer get a RWD or AWD car FWD cars are much more difficult to control because there front wheels have to brake accelerate and turn all at the same time which makes it difficult. nd no fart cans mufflers please.

  • The Honda Civic Si and VW GTI are still the best choose to use as a daily driver. I can't stand the Mazda's poor gas mileage and torque steer. The mini has an awful ride, lancer is forgettable with a cheap interior, WRX is nice but I'm not a fan of the styling and drinks premium fuel as bad as MS3. The Cobalt has the engine but its connected to a cheaply built car that screams rental.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo have you driven any of these cars?

  • sweet line up haha thats like an 08 speed 3, with 09 cars. car and driver sucks they come in last place for automotive information hahaha there are no facts here jus opinon typpical of car and driver THEY GET PAID BUY AUTO CORP, TO COME TO THERE FINAL RESULT THATS HOW THEY STAY IN BUISNESS

  • BS THIS IS SO VERY WRONG THE CHEVY IN 3RD AHEAD OF THE WRX AND LANCER BS THE SAME CHEVY THAT GOT THE WORST RATINGS AND EVEN BRAND NEW IS NOT AT ALL RELIABLE U LOST ANY TRUST U MAY HAVE HAD

  • subaru shoulda been 3rd or 1st. chevy shoulda been 5th or something. gti is 2nd i agree, smart buy. mazda...idk 4th?

  • 0:01

  • this is so biased. there is no way a wrx or even an si are worse then a speed 3. those cars have been around for years and have history and passion behind them. they are way better and way more fun to drive then the ms3

  • @WislaKrakow24 have you drivien a MS3?

  • @ecurules yes actually... my best friend had the first gen and traded it in for a 2010.. i have an si at the moment and even he admits mine is more reasonable and a better value. im not saying its a bad car its just so unpractical and has no heart behind it. any moron can pack a turbo into a car and make it that fast. and fast is all the ms3 has going for it.

  • @WislaKrakow24 fair enough, but what is impractical about the car? I have a ms3, I test drove a ms3, a civic si, and a gti before getting it, all 3 were good cars I liked how the civic handled but I didn't like the electronic throttle and to be honest it didn't have enough torque and I felt the steering was to light. If the car had 220 or 230 hp then it'd like it more, the car didn't feel any faster than my modded svt focus, I had a lot more fun driving the mazda, I just wish it'd rev to 7500

  • @ecurules i ge tthat but its just personal preference. The si doesnt need torque cuz it redlines at 8k. which makes up for the low amount of torque. Its also lighter and more practical because its more comfortable and surprisingly spacious. It also has a WAY better engine that will no doubt last longer then a MS3 and for sure a gti. i love the ms3 man believe me. but that car shouldnt be what it is. its not a very good looking car first of all. second of all engineers say that 215hp

  • @ecurules is how much should be put into a fwd car. thats why theres torque steer. i dunno man. i guess im looking the long run knowing that 15 million vtec systems are out there and they are all flawless. and thats a fact.

  • @WislaKrakow24 i dont mind the torque steer, if keep a hand on the wheel you can control, but I can understand why some people don't like it. but i have to disagree, as far as the civic being more reliable (unless you heavily mod the mazda or abuse it) both score high marks in consumer reports and long term road tests on inside line and other car magazines. the mazda is plenty comfortable and also offers the practicality of a hatch. but if you like the car that is all that is important.

  • chvy looks sick im thinkinng about getting it......

  • all of these cars have torqe steer (except subaru) becese the half shafts (or whatever you call them in a car that has a side mounted transmission) are un equal, which is why every one loves subaru AWD, perfect balance with the placement of trans and engine too.

  • 4 cylinder motors have come a long way. I respect any of these cars (except civics, I hate those f-n things) because of the performance they put out on the streets. Its almost like who needs a v8 to have fun & go fast? Good stuff. If I was to choose one of these cars, well, to say the least, Im a Chevy man. I have driven most of these cars due to my old jobs working at dealerships. The MazdaSpeed3 is awesome, but gotta do something bout that torque steer; AWD perhaps, as well as the Cobalt SS.

  • @gjg50 I know dude!!

I'm suprized that the speed3 doesnt have AWD.

    The speed6 does.

Which is odd because the speed3 has AWD and 11 more hp and runs 0-60 a full second slower than the speed3.

I don't think mazda has a good enough AWD setup quite yet.

    My guess:

    2012 MS3 with AWD

  • @STLskater92 U mean the Sp6 has AWD, not the Sp3. I see what ur talking about the 0-60 times. Both cars share the same 4 cyl turbo engine. Even though the Sp6 weighs more, the 0-60 is better w/ the Sp3 & its only FWD. I figure that the AWD would made a noticable difference even w/ the extra weight. I hate that the Sp 3 comes in wagon style only just like the STI is only in wagon style until this year.

  • The Subaru should've rank 1st just b/c the 3 cars before it didn't have AWD. If u want the good h/p & torque, AWD, & most tuneable car, pick the Subaru. I like the Cobalt & the Speed3, but since they have so much h/p & its FWD, you'll experience tire spinning & torque steer, which cuts down the 0-60 & 1/4 runs. I'm not surprise the Si finished that low, it lacks h/p.

  • @postersurfman1 I agree. Their purpose of the article was about the ultimate cheap speed. Is there any one of those cars that even come within a half second in the quarter then the wrx? Hell the next closest is what a full second behind the wrx? haha. I don't see how a slow lame vw gets second because it has plad seats...it's still slow as hell.

  • @impreza22bbs All car magazines & critics love the VW for some reason. It lacks h/p & torque. The Si puts out about the same h/p w/o a turbo. Thats embarrising. The only problem w/ these cars except the Subaru is that there FWD. But they get about 5-7 more miles to the gallon on the highway than a V8 sports car plus they offer sedan models, which means more leg & cargo room.

  • its nice to see that they actually looked at performance to decide the winner. thats kinda abnormal for car and driver.

  • This video comparison is gay.

  • isnt the power of the ms3 limited until you get into third gear?

  • @rkjpsn It is in lower RPM's to limit wheel slip.

  • I've always been a fan of the WRX, all weel drive and the 2011 model looks incredible with 265 hp, but that damn Mazdaspeed 3 just seems like an all out bad ass machine....as long we are talking about the 09 and not the god awful 2010 model...jesus christ i hope they make a new body for that asap.

  • go mazda! mazda RULES, it was 1st place, its still 1st place and it would be 1st 4 ever, cause mazda makes the best cars... zoom zoom

  • @rickyguti zoom zoom. forever.

  • Why was there a dude pissing in the woods at 3:27

  • @Nerevar1990

    Lmao that's awesome!

  • well no shit you will get good fuel economy if u keep ur foot off the gas...

  • my buddy got a new mazda 3... very nice car for it's price. I'm curious how the mazdaspeed 3 is

  • i like the wrx

  • I LOVE my mazdaspeed 3 '07! Buuut i've had lots go wrong =/ blown turbo seals(covered by warranty), blown ecu (covered by warranty), blown fuel rail sensor ($1700 for new fuel rail) and now a faulty fuel pump... I can see why they only made 5,000 of 'em a year, otherwise they would be paying too much in warranty covered repairs. still love my speed 3 :)

  • @lujoebonjo It sounds like the problems your having might be related to something else...... possibly you not running stock psi numbers????

  • @flatblackstrat all those problems were stock everything except for cold air intake. just replaced primary o2 sensor for $300 and picked up a dashhawk for diagnostic/engine monitoring. Car is running premo now. When it all goes right, nothing compares to the speed 3 for the price

  • @flatblackstrat all those problems were stock everything except for cold air intake. just replaced primary o2 sensor for $300 (luckily it wasn't a blown fuel pump) and picked up a dashhawk for diagnostic/engine monitoring. Car is running premo now. When it all goes right, nothing compares to the speed 3 for the price

  • It always seems good at first before you keep driving the car for a few years. Durability is a part of the equation people forget all too often.

  • The Cobalts are crappy rentals that will embarrass anything in it's price range.

  • i like my 07 cobalt ss s/c but the interior is balls. good handling tho and decent pulls in 2nd and 3rd.

  • shouldn't the Cobalt SS be compared to the fast spending food stamp.

  • Cobalt SS is the Best :D!

  • so wait they say its the best driving car second fastest to the sti and its the best braking yet yet because its name is a cobalt it gets third sorry ill take the ss over the gti every single day

  • Which is why i like Mustangs as well

  • ok. Civic Si with the naturally aspirated motor would be my pick.

turbocharging is great, but i want that soundtrack when the engine screams up to 8000rpm.

But i guess if you are looking at absolute speed around a track, it would be the Cobalt SS and the Speed3.

Also the joy of going through the gears and keeping the car at high rpm is way more fun than just absolute speed.

    Just my two cents

  • @dracwiz That's what I keep telling people and bought one.

And if you want to use a K20 series engine and do 60 in less than 3 sec, you can but the Ariel Atom with the JRSC for $50K ariel atom dot come and supercharger dot come.

  • mazdaspeed3 rules

  • pues desde mexico opino que deverias probarlos a la altura de la ciudad de mexico y la verdad los mejores carros son la serie chrysler como el srt4 el lancer evo y el subaru los demas me desepcionan empesando por la gti espero puedas traducir y entiendas

  • I think subaru is capable of wayyyy more lol

  • cant wait till the us gets the focus rs

  • i gotta be honest the plead sits look terrible to me i hate them so much!

  • Even better yet, use a new Rotrex supercharger with it.

Search --> Caterham Super 7 Hayabusa Knox Mountain Hillclimb 2010

It's a Caterham Hayabusa 1300 Rotrex Supercharged Road Car, built by Super 7 Cars

This higher end SC is much better than all the rest and more comparable to the turbo's but without lag.

  • They didnt even use a coupe cobalt?!?! it looks sick compared to the sedan

  • The Mini Busa is not a production car but am curious were it would end up in this list if on the market.

Search MiniBusa Real time, it's the green one with a Hyabusa engine. Mini should use this engine in their car with 11000 RPM redline. It would make things interesting. I love high revving cars and sport bikes.

    Comments?

A company called zCARS puts these together.

  • I think this test would be way more compelling of you included the new V6 Mustang and Camaro. Both have over 300 HP V6 engines, get better gas mileage than nearly every car here and get better performance off the line. For $25,000 you can get the V6 Mustang with the same brakes and suspension parts as the GT mustang that will stop and handle better than any of these cars too. These are some great little cars, but the new base model muscle cars are so good why would you bother?

  • @SauceCaptain

V6 Mustang In a sport compact comparison, no.

    Better gas mileage, no.

Better performance, no. My Civic Si is faster and handles better, stock. The others wouldn't just beat the V6 Stang it would embarass it.

Go check the specs online and test drive them all, including the V6 Stang I did.

The best deal out of all is the Si, IMO.

  • @KrazyKanuker Agreed!

  • @SauceCaptain

I saw your Japanese war crimes video link, very good thanks.

  • 5:06 is that guy peeing again?

  • ill still take the cobalt.......................

  • the cobalt is the most fun and cheapest, the wrx will get you laid and is badass, the ms3 is still a mazda and my mom would love one.... summed it up well.

  • @imcdowel the SS is the "cheapest" its Chevrolet..u get to spend your time on the side of the road waiting for tow truck. good job. and the MS3 is more badass than anything u will drive..

  • @joebobfickle insecure? i was making a joke. the cobalt has beat these cars in many other tests. i drive a ss camaro so i always trash these little cars. my chevy has rescued many toyotas and honda even mazdas in her day and has never left me stranded. your just being an ass. i think the ms3 is a bitchin car. certainly feels fantastic to drive. go drive something can clock 0-60 in under 5 seconds like my car and youll get what i mean. pluss learn to laugh at a joke. stead of getting pissy.

  • Comment removed

  • what, ms3 won again? thought subaru wrx should have won. I'll still take wrx without a second thought.

  • I bought my 2008 MS3 in Pearl White color with just 40 miles on the odometer. My car now has a little over 30,000 miles. Easily the second best purchase i have done. My home is 1st best purchase. haha.

  • love the GTI

  • Stop crying everyone. The SRT-4 would kill them all anyway.

  • @UrbanArtifact

    That POS??? LMFAO

  • the honda looks like crap

  • The Cobalt SS T/C is as fast as a BMW e46 M3 around the Nurburgring race track,.... that's the one I'll have ^_^

  • @Flabernat

8:22 is pretty quick but the MS3 had many disadvantages when it ran the Nurburgring so you can't compare. 8:39 isn't the best a MS3 can do.

  • @mrcardio9r That's a fair point, but the MSPEED3 was a quite a bit behind the Cobalt SS T/C in C&D Lighting Lap.

  • car and driver what the hell Ralliart doesnt come with 227 hp??? its 237 bhp and 218 on the wheels and 253 lbs torque that eats wrx for breakfast...

  • @kitikitiboy I know they fucked Ralliart's specs up. Its 237 hp.

  • car and driver what the hell Ralliart doesnt come with 227 hp??? its 237 bhp and 218 on the wheels and 253 lbs torque that eats wrx for breakfast...

  • @kitikitiboy

i would love to see the ralliart pull on a 2009 WRX.

0-60 in 4.7 and 13.5 stock quarter mile times, the EVO can barely keep up...

  • @Warex06 subawho??? yeah maybe your wrx is faster but the car is butt ugly subaru should make better exterior design on their cars... its just so ugly...on ralliart you got the best of both world its hi tech awd and really nice to look at and the TC-SST is awesome... downside is the wheels and tires MUST be changed coz mitsu put narrow tires thus affects the performance of the car...

  • @kitikitiboy

No it doesnt it still have less power than the wrx and alot more weight.

  • ..........

the guy talking sounds like a doofus

  • ms3 hasnt touched my 2010 ss yet. and im completely stock.

  • Jaybigp stfu unless you know what yourtalking about....yea awd is better in the snow but were just better drivers than you and we at least I don't need it

  • Maybe they were talking about the Sedan version, but I think the coupe version of the SS garners a lot of attention. I've never seen quite as stylish a compact as that one.

  • TBH, I drive a 2007 Cobalt SS supercharged. Yes, it feels like a rental car, but while I drive I'm not really looking at/running my hands over my interior. That said, I stayed away from the VW because of the abysmal reliability of VWs - While the GTi's a fun car, it's a fun car, it's held together by hope and duct tape. If I buy another car in the segment, it'll be the Mazdaspeed 3... if I can find one :)

  • In the real world and you are over the age of 16 years old and you need a car that can actually function a Camaro makes no sense. Good luck surviving through the winter in that car. Completely a summer driver only. The 09 WRX hatch is unbeatable in every aspect of real life. Holds a ton of gear, she can handle corners at twice the speed any front wheel drive car, can blaze through the snow and toast any fool 0-60 who is not driving a rocket ship.

  • @JayBigP

The 09' WRX get beat by the Mazdaspeed 3 in everything but stop light racing. The Mazdaspeed 3 is quicker at speed and handles much better, is quicker around the race track. The Mazdaspeed has an incredible chassis and awesome pulling power.

  • @JayBigP hahahaha your stupid, the ms3 beats the 09 wrx in every aspect except a race from the dig

  • @JayBigP wanna bet on that twice the speed of any front wheel drive, speed 3 suspension setup is better then the wrx, and it communicates more too. All wheel drive doesn't necessarily mean better handling.

  • @JayBigP

Wrx toast any fool? ok How About An Evo 8?

yeah I didnt think so either.

  • Absolutely love my Speed 3. As a tech, Ive had the opportunity to drive a wide aray of cars that come through our shop, but non ever felt as good, smooth and powerful like the speed 3 does, not to mention, its styling is just plain beautiful. Love the curvature and smooth look.

The other cars in this test are anything but weak, but for me, the MS3 Shines.

  • @maz323se i love my 1st gen ms3

  • just killed a Cobalt ss (silly sport) 3 times this evening, lol, couldn't keep up to my MS3,

  • @Kahngaidin let me guess it was a ss..or SS/SC

  • @YellowCamaro85 ....yeah that s what I said, SS. why?

  • @Kahngaidin there are three of them .ss 174hp ss/sc 205...ss/tc 260 wich one was it? iam not bashing your driving or your car mazdaspeed3 is a great car but the SS/TC tends to be quicker in a strait line and around a track

  • @YellowCamaro85 sorry dude all I saw was a silver SS on the door and the back of the car,I did not know there was more then one SS. :P

dunno if it helps but it did have a factory installed wing that was pretty big,all the SS in town seem to have a big wing on the back that is stock.

P.S. what is a Cobalt RS ? there are a few in town.

  • @Kahngaidin the RS is a visual edition only its a astock 155hp LS cobalt with some fancy"oh look" add ons nothing special...normaly the SS/SC have a large wing but i have seen quite a few SS 174 2.4L cobalts running the large wing also...as far as looks if the cars rims were fat and 5 spoke..instead of slim and 10 spoke star design that indicates the car to be a 2006-2008 Supercharged with the fat spokes ..but a 2008-2010 turbocharged with the thin star 10 spoke

  • @YellowCamaro85 wow, sounds like you know your cobalts. I am fairly new to them.I appreciate the info too.I like to know my cars.I will be looking at spokes now.

:D and making fun of people that drive RS cobalts, sounds almost as bad as

    strapping a fart can to a honda,lol.

  • @Kahngaidin yes it is..oh look an intake a wing and full exhaust 13s right..try NO! haha um yeah there are different ones out there the new Turbo cobalts a fast soo dont expect to walk all over them they are running down mustang gt's ss camaros and some other igh 12 low and mid 13 sec cars..with the trifecta tune.wich dosnt cast that much in comparison to the performance gains they get out of them

  • @Kahngaidin then your a better driver, your car is slower.

  • @Kahngaidin (SILLY SPORT) nice lol

  • yeah my ms3 kills too.

  • @Kahngaidin Must have been an old SC. Turbo would be walkin' right past you.

  • 3:27 guy taking a leak

    and chevy owns

  • After test driving the GTI, Cobalt SS, a Mazda Speed 3 and the Ralliart there was one that shined above and beyond the others for styling, speed and way cool features. The car just felt tighter and faster than all the rest.

Hands down, the sporty interior, hands free and onstar, "competition mode" traction, no-lift-shfit feature and 262hp/260 ft.lbs. convinced this guy to choose the US made Cobalt SS as champion.

  • I sure wish the Cobalt SS Coupe WAS a hatchback. It already LOOKS like a hatch, but it doesn't have the practicality of a hatch. I bet it wouldn't be hard to design a hatch opening if Chevy wanted to.

  • instead they gave it a decent sized trunk with a small opening. I'd prefer the hatch.

  • gti made it all the way to 2nd place because of the plaid seats! pure european luxury! these guys kill me sometimes.

  • gti in 2nd? seriously..?

  • The cobalt may be plain, but the other cars are ass-ugly. The mazda and the wrx being the ugliest in the group, followed closely by the civic. Actually, the gti is more plain looking than the cobalt. Damn, modern "affordable" cars are just plain ugly!!! I'm glad the camaro is back!! Black RS camaro with 6 speed clutch is where its at.

  • cobalt ftw. great car for the money. I think the coupe looks good. It's the only one here that offers a coupe body style. I don't like hatches I think they are gay as hell. The interior statement is just a default gripe everyone puts on american cars. It's bs and very subjective. But they can't give an American car the title now can they? Not against foreign makes who "specialize" in small fun to drive cars.

  • cobalt beats wrx!!! aftermarket hood, fenders, bumpers and high rise spoiler make it an awesome looking car :)

  • The mazdaspeed3 realy is the best car of choice out of this segment but I think the cobalt ss is not to far behind. I do know the MS3 is a faster sprinter then te ss but the ss I heard has a little better handling though. The ms3 can gain up to 30+ more hp with just a cold air intake 28 hp and exhaust 6hp through mazdaspeed under warranty.

  • They are all nice cars but personally I'll take my AWD please.

  • I bought a Cobalt SS last month loaded for $21,500 including the $650 power upgrade that gives 30 extra HP and 60 TQ. That makes it over 10 lb per HP and less than $74 per HP. Hard to beat with a factory warranty.

  • @cddixon044 I keep hearing about this power upgrade... is it the stage one kit? Cuz it didn't come as an option on my 2010

  • yeah, it's a stage kit... it's $68 worth of wiring/sensors yet costs $650 for the kit (unless you buy it from someone else) but it must be installed by the dealer, who likes to rape you with installation $294. That's crap. but you keep your warranty. I hate GM at the moment... I can buy the kit for $455, but I'm not paying $300 or even $200 to hook up some sensors and connect it to a computer for half an hour...

  • I used to have a 2007 wrx but i traded it in for the new 2010 sti and im so glad i did. The 2010 sti is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you ask me the STI is embarrassing compared to the regular WRX. More money and for what? Worse lap times?

  • @ajlod934893 If you know how to drive you don't have to worry about that...and Ihad a WRX now I have a STI and there is a big difference.

  • i drove the 05 wrx and 04 sti and i say the sti was superior, but i don't know about any of the new ones yet.

  • Well I'm sure the STI is funnier to drive and don't get me wrong it's nice and all but a new wrx has 260 horse and it beats the STI around a track. STI weighs more, worse in the corners.

  • @ajlod934893 the wrx has about the same straight line speed as an sti.... and thats it. the sti is way better than the wrx as far as performance goes. these arent drag cars. the sti is an amazing track/rally car, and a beast when you push it to its limits.

  • is it really?

  • Isn't this comparo a little out-dated? The GTI and Speed3 have received thorough updates, and I'm not sure if the Cobalt SS is still in production. I wonder where Honda will go with the next Si. Though it gets embarassed by everything in this class in terms of performance, it's a nice little package for not much money. Maybe revving the snot out of it all the time would get old, but I'm sure reliability wouldn't be an issue.

  • id say

    1- MS3 (Power+Handling)

    2-WRX (AWD+Power)

    4-Cobalt SS (Power+Price)

    5-Ralliart (AWD+TC-SST)

    6-GTI (... Chasis)

The civic and the cooper arent even worth mentioning. FWD low powered econobox...

  • @tommysch

Cobalt SS handles better then any of those cars.

  • @johnciv6 maybe or maybe not. That wasnt the point, it was most bang for buck video

  • dam... MS3 OWNES!! =D
