Normally the original series would stop after the Cell Games saga. Since Goku died, the Super Saiyan has been surpassed by Gohan and the peace restored on Earth after Cell died... there was no reason to continue the story.

Any body else annoyed that TOE would just skip the Majin Buu series. I mean it's not like you can just cut that entire 100 plus episode count and get to GT (which wasn't even as good as Dragon Ball Z; come on, a Goku with red chest hair and black facial hair, SS4 my ***!). I guess we can assume that Goku spontaneously reanimates and trains Uub in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and be de-aged by a charecter not mentioned in DBZK and know he as a granddaughter with Videl who also is not mention. @jlf11 Dragonball GT came out a few years ago. They're just going to be re-airing it. And it's an unofficial continuation starting from a few years after the Buu saga.
they want good ratings? well... they should put more effort on REMAKING and NOT REMASTERING DBZ... like the remade scenes on DBZ Ultimate Tenkaichi... They should remake everything with new animation technics... that would attract a LOT MORE PEOPLE!
actually in those remade scenes on DBZ UltimateTenkaichi they nailed it awesomely it kept the original feeling of the series...
@wolfclaw100 well funimation did have there remake of dragon ball but it failed miserable you could check it out. trust me it sucked either way not the original the funimation version
Toriyama is most known for his work on his Dragon Ball series. He should make more Manga Chapters and Anime Episodes to try and expand the series, that would make people all watch it again. Imagine the confirmation of a real new Dragon Ball series. The fanbase woudl go wild.
He did try that with DBZ GT but, it was kinda failed. And, I don't know any other way he can continue considering Everybody dies ending GT. Peacefully. (I think)

@petplatypus As u can see, Goku have already reached SSj3, far surpassing SSj2 Gohan or even Vegeta. Sure, Vegeta is the second best after Sun Goku, at least in my point of view. Goku held back during his fight with SSJ2 Majin Vegeta & so does Vegeta. However, SSJ3 met the breaking point during the fight with Kid buu, for all of its raw powers, it has serious setbacks, like power draining, etc.So, pratically, SSJ3 is not effective in fights, thus making SSJ2 the best combat state.
@petplatypus The ending at Cell Saga was quite retarded..See, making Gohan the main character isn't appropriate..That guy made every one of his damned friends beaten to the brink of death by Cell Jr's, got tortured like Hell, It was due to him that Cell crushed 16, before Gohan finally reaching SSJ2 & become cocky, not getting the job done, got his Dad killed, got Trunks killed, got the damned vegeta almost killed, almost every one died, before Goku motivated him to finish the job..Wth!!

@TwoFriendsPlayGames I agree. But I mentioned the highlights of Buu Saga, which is an underated saga of DBZ. It was a good saga, with only fillers and low-quality animation being randomly present all over the saga. Also, Buu Saga had some of the series coolest fights, epic ascensions, Buu's various transformations etc.. Though I feel that the sense of "evil" which present during Frieza and Cell Arc missed, Buu Saga was AWESOME!!!

Question: Do you know if there any anime websites that have episode 98 of kai because Japan couldn't air 98 due to the earthquake? I heard Japan said they released it on dvd this month on Part 8 of Kai. But do know if any websites have episode 98?
i dont want DBZK to end, but if they were gonna end it early, they shoulda ended it right after the Frieza saga. like right after goku kills frieza avenging his race and becoming the legendary warrior. that would have been an epic ending.
Its not that this was the original ending. The creator wanted the story to center on gohan after the cell arc but due to the fans' protest, the story continued following goku. So I don't really know if that had anything to do with why they stopped kai there but yeahh..

just for people to know, they are continuing dragonballz as dragonball hoshi, akira toriyama's student (or apprentice) is doing it with him. they are ignoring the GT saga and wiping it clean as if it never happened. they are continuing from where goku goes with uub to train. there will be a new super saiyan 4, and possible super saiyan 5. (yes this has been confirmed and its planned to be produced many years in the future)
Why didn't they cover Free The Future? That is the true end to the saga (it's in the manga). They didn't even finish the damn thing. They had 3 till 100 remaining and they couldn't at least give us a 98 with Trunks destroying the androids and cell in his time?

The next would have most likely been trunk's return to the future and avenging future gohan and killing cell. That would have rapped up the problem of cell nicely.
goku die's in this episode. he cannot be revived anymore because he will revived for the 2nd time but because of that dirty old kai he was revived again.....
@theacecor Not really kai is very popular and always ranked in the top ten anime tv rankings list in Japan. The reason it ended is because Toei isn't making a lot of money from it because the dvds and merchandise are not selling well. People already have the dragon boxes so they are not going to spend money on the kai dvds. Toei was basically screw kai it makes no sense making the buu saga because we are harldy getting sales so let's focus on making as much money as possible from Toriko.

@petplatypus The ending at Cell Saga was quite retarded..See, making Gohan the main character isn't appropriate..That guy made every one of his damned friends beaten to the brink of death by Cell Jr's, got tortured like Hell, It was due to him that Cell crushed 16, before Gohan finally reaching SSJ2 & become cocky, not getting the job done, got his Dad killed, got Trunks killed, got the damned vegeta almost killed, almost every one died, before Goku motivated him to finish the job..Wth!!

@TwoFriendsPlayGames I agree. But I mentioned the highlights of Buu Saga, which is an underated saga of DBZ. It was a good saga, with only fillers and low-quality animation being randomly present all over the saga. Also, Buu Saga had some of the series coolest fights, epic ascensions, Buu's various transformations etc.. Though I feel that the sense of "evil" which present during Frieza and Cell Arc missed, Buu Saga was AWESOME!!!

Its not that this was the original ending. The creator wanted the story to center on gohan after the cell arc but due to the fans' protest, the story continued following goku. So I don't really know if that had anything to do with why they stopped kai there but yeahh..

just for people to know, they are continuing dragonballz as dragonball hoshi, akira toriyama's student (or apprentice) is doing it with him. they are ignoring the GT saga and wiping it clean as if it never happened. they are continuing from where goku goes with uub to train. there will be a new super saiyan 4, and possible super saiyan 5. (yes this has been confirmed and its planned to be produced many years in the future)

Episode 98 didn't air because of Japan's natural disasters, and it'll be included as an extra on the last BD/DVD.

@theacecor Not really kai is very popular and always ranked in the top ten anime tv rankings list in Japan. The reason it ended is because Toei isn't making a lot of money from it because the dvds and merchandise are not selling well. People already have the dragon boxes so they are not going to spend money on the kai dvds. Toei was basically screw kai it makes no sense making the buu saga because we are harldy getting sales so let's focus on making as much money as possible from Toriko.
