exceptional aircraft, wish they hadnt have had to go in 2007 from flying operations. The RAF still operates 7 or so of these aircraft to train engineering officers at Cranwell. Theyre painted black and known as the lincolnshire land sharks i think!
@pokerface881 Yes. The noise has registered in my mind. Now, am not able to sleep at nights.. Scared of all that flies, drones, jumbo jets, gliders, etc..
those things flew by my neighborhood, and i thought an airplane was about to crash into my house or something, i almost piss in my pants cuz it was so loud
Shame Coltishall closed you will never see another Sepecat Jaguar in the U.K again...I have some old 8mm sony camcorder video of them when I find it I will put it on You Tube probably in two months time.
no, not the speed of sound but fast. I've experienced low supersonic booms and they are unmistakeable. 1st thing you hear is a huge Bang followed by the roar of the afterburners. If you see the plane coming you can see a wave of dust or dirt running along the ground parallel to the aircraft. And as the plane passes you not only hear the boom you feel the shockwave hit you with a thud. Iv'e been close enough to feel that 4times and heard sonic booms from further away about twenty times.
What speed? Got to be hundreds of mph...
