  • Nani means who is Swahili weird I've heard some words in Japanese that I use !

  • NA-NA-NANI!!!!!! ....

  • How about 'Nande' ?

  • @MsRaichuD same...

  • @aelitasweet Same what ?

  • @MsRaichuD same meaning lol

  • You're the Hottest teacher ever.

  • You are the best teacher ever

  • Naze des ka?

  • Thank you SO MucH!!! I'm going to japan soon this summer and I really wanted to learn how to speak! This is so useful! arigato!

  • why do i hear nande instead of naze? is that usable?

    please tell me. ^^

  • In japanese anime, they say doushite but it seems like they're are asking why; as in the guy betrays the group and the girl is crying and says doushite. Is that a substitute for why, as if she wants to say "how could you?' or 'how come?" Or is it a culture difference?

  • So if I want to ask for instance, "what guitar is this?"

Do I have to go "Nani guitar desu?" (i obviously will learn how to say guitar lol) Do I need the desu at the end? Or desu ka?

  • She a very good teacher

  • shes a really good teacher

  • when she says "very good", i say back "thank you".

    :p

  • good teacher

  • english is really easy to learn actually. js. japanese is kinda easy kinda hard cuz u have to say some of the words fast.

  • I HAVE QUESTION I have learned that "where" is "dochira". Im woman so.. that its the female way to speak or something, or I can say the two forms? Thanks, Arigato

  • this and watching anime helps a bunch ^-^

  • Mandarin is the hardest language to learn

  • i've used the Pimsluer japanese audio lessons to learn these same words, but it helps SO much to SEE someone saying them. that way I can see how to form them with my mouth

  • SUKI!

    She's so cute.

  • u're very good!! thankyou so much!!

  • im really appreciate this vidio..i really like the way you speak sooo clear & fluent..thanks to you..god bless

  • besides "doushite", can "nande" be a form of how also? cuz i learned in a japanese book that nande can also means how...

  • @putrisha94 i think why and how generally mean the same thing in some situations

  • "doushite" is a combination of "dou" and "shite", "shite" being the command form of "suru" (to do). So it literally means, "how to do," or "how do I/you/they..."

If you change out the verb "shite", you add "yatte" (similar meaning to "suru") and the verb you want to perform. So "How do I dance?" would be "dou yatte odorimasu ka?"

  • @illhavethesalmon thank you

  • Do you put a question mark at the end?

  • @kikikinko: Yepp.. you put "ka" at the end for to make it a question ^^

  • Doushite is why.. I forgot how to say how though

  • she seems so nice i will one day return back to japan and see my family there.

  • on all the japaness animes iv watched why was it that why ment doushite and here how means doushite? im confused who's right?

  • yes, "why" is doushite, she made a mistake xD (teaching you guys wrong shyt!)

"how" is Douyatte in informal situations (friends, close family)

and is "donoyouni" for formal places (meetings, jobs....)

  • she is born and raised in Japan -- how can she be wrong?

  • i dunno but if you can look it up, everywher it says "douchite" is why, not "how".

also, she might be a true japanese speaker, but she is not a a true english speaker, therefore, she might make mistakes with her english translations.

  • you could be right

  • so is 'naze' just another way of saying why?

  • yup. "doushite" and "naze" are both ways to say "why"

  • doushite means "why" and "how" naze and doushite are the same.. how is doushite, too, but sometimes just say "dou"

  • if u actually look it up google says doushite is how come...and not necessarily why, u can also say doushite though (^_^)

  • @Firestar1231 who said she was raised in japan?

  • @RosesforThorns1 Gosh, no one actually does read the description. It says it there in black and white

  • @RosesforThorns1 she did

  • from what i remember in my freshman year, doushite means 'how come'. pretty much same thing as 'why', yes?

  • not sure whos right i dont speak japaness...

reson why i went on youtube lol ^_^

  • well she is the teacher and i don't know how long he was take Japanese in school but she is a teacher so i have to say she is right.

  • doushite is "why" watch the animes, look it up. there all the same.

  • Doushite is how.. -.-''

    Not why..

They say "Doushite" in anime, where they mean "How"!

  • @MaAyuMB no they don't look again -_-

  • @MaAyuMB Doushite does mean "why".

    Doushite sono ringo wo tabemashitaka?

どうしてそのりんごを食べましたか。 why did you eat that apple?

Anime is probably not the best source to learn Japanese.

  • @MiboJinNoYuwaku: Ohh,,I can see it now! xD

Sorry for being so stuuuuuuuuupid! :B

  • very interesting like everything in conect with Japan :)

  • Sweet! arigato gozaimasu!!

  • shes hot

  • These are fabulous to learn basic Japanese, thank you!! The only problem I see is that they don't have any numbering sequence so I can not follow them sequentially.

  • so, if anyone can answer my question, do you ask a question the same way you ask in english? with a higher pitch voice at the end? sounds logical but i don't want my jap friends to think i got punched in the nuts while i'm saying it

  • probably but it sounds kind of odd since it's only one word. Just try making a dumbstruck face or something

    for example: raise both eyebrows

if you're being serious lower both eyebrows or just raise one eyebrow.

  • hahha good advice! body language!

  • cant doushite also mean why too? ive watched soooo much anime that the subtitles would say why when the character says doushite. ... :3

  • i've got the same question as well..

  • yep yep

  • you are really good at teaching this! thx!

i just want to know this cuz then i can show off to friends and cuz it sounds cool!

  • Comment removed

  • wait a sec i thoughte that doushite ment why???? i am really confused plz help thx

    please reply soon

  • that's right. doushite means "why" or "how come". and naze means "why".

  • a friend of me said the japanese is one hardest language to learn i think it's not that hard because japanese have alot of abbreviation instead of a sentence.

  • actually, english is supposed to be the hardest language to learn.

  • @KiraLacus92 you was wrong !! English is very easy !! Vietnamese was a hardest language !! ever . with many many subject and object and everything else ...too hard for learn !! but i'm vietnamese so it's easy for me ^.^

  • @KiraLacus92 i disagree. its said its the easiest to learn here. no complicated grammar.

  • @KiraLacus92 biggest lye ever

  • @rickjuniorable actually not really its hard

  • @KiraLacus92 no learning how to speak it in a good and understood way it is but other than that its not the hardest

  • @KiraLacus92 not when theres a billion ppl speaking it i dont think so -.-

  • @normtoFREAK A billion? I believe you're confusing Japanese with Chinese. Not a good idea, LOL.

  • @KiraLacus92 I know how to speak english and portuguese. I garantee portuguese is way worst than english.

  • @saahKISSchan well it depends on your skills.

  • @KiraLacus92 No, swedish ans chineese.

  • @KiraLacus92 actually its spanish because of many reasons that i dont really know how to say them in english

  • @KiraLacus92 i think german is harder to learn :) try it xD

  • actually mandarin is the hardest language to learn, it's also the most common language just above english.

  • naze is also nande some places in japan they are using naze instead of nande like in inaka or provinces! so shes not teaching us wrong japanese words!! domo arigatou gozaimasu!! demo motto ippai nihonggo benkyoo shimasu!! nihon daisuki!!

  • arigatou gozaimasu

  • Nani?!

  • wat does kawaii mean?

  • cute

  • cute. it means cute or adorable. :D

  • it means cute...:l

  • Im going to have to agree with KaraANDTravis, japanese for 6 months is like taking 1 week of Kung Fu (which is actually chinese, but thats not the point). You hardly know the basics. My best friend is Japanese, i dont speak is, not fluent anyway, i will go there for a good length of time to learn it tho. Im excited!

  • aregatu!

  • XD I'll subscribe to you!!

  • arigatou ^^

  • nande = what

  • Nani or Nan = What

  • arigato!

  • thankyou! :]

  • arigatou!!

kono bideo wa taihen ii desu!

  • what is kono bideo wa taihen ii desu! i know arigatou

  • I'm rough at it but i think it means, 'it's a great video' - or some along those lines. dunno the word 'taihen' but it's something positive.

  • You have to be careful with the work taihen because it does mean very, but it also means dreadful, terrible, awful. In this case the person means very.

  • thanks. I'm still at a very early stage of learning japanese.
