Bassoon reads Treble and bass clef at the octave.

Usually bassoons are in bass cleft. Tenor is usually for the higher notes, and treble is pretty uncommon.

Thanks for posting this music of Alan's. He wrote it as a gift to British composer Gordon Jacob who kept pigs at his home in Saffron Walden. I've enjoyed this work for many years and heard it at its first performance.
