lol "My name is Dave "The Beast" Richardson." it just sounds funny someone nicknaming themselves. "I'm Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield, and you are?"
I'm not in any way balking at Dave's skills or questioning anything in this vid, but one thing that always baffles me: Hollywood rarely makes up techniques when it comes to a specific trade. At every stage of making a film, from writing to rehearsing to shooting, a pro like Dave himself is brought in to consult on how to get stuff done. So I'm puzzled when another pro comes along and says that's all phony b.s. Someone who's supposedly an expert advised to use that lance cutter, etc. What gives?
@SIGSALYmedia This is true, but after the movie makers find out how it is "really" done, they normally make changes which make it look more interesting, entertaining, and fun to watch. Also, in some cases, they will change things that might be "dangerous" or that they don't want movie watchers to "copycat" and cause the movie maker some liability.
@SIGSALYmedia Most likely because Dave thinks his methods are professional because they don't cause a huge amount of damage. A thief doesn't care about leaving a safe intact. Also, if you've ever seen Mythbusters, a thermal lance burns the contents. They're usually not used. Check out the Underwriter's Laboratories testing of safes. Those guys use brute force.
Dave knows Jeff, he and Jeff have been friends for over 20 years. Dave does manipulate safes open, but understand that it can take a lot of time and time is money, most customers just want the safe to be open ASAP. Dave also specializes in safes designed to be manipulation proof, even Jeff has to drill those kind open.
This was quite entertaining..However you will never see a show like this on TV...just think how many criminals this would make...ha haha...It would be a switch from the Garbage they put on TV these days...Jersey shore....hahaha Pthuuuuh!
I remember this guy, he opened my boss's big jewelry safe when I worked in downtown Los Angeles. It was cool to watch him, that safe was like a bank vault and cracked it open in like 30 minutes! Serious guy, all business when he attacked the safe.
@PocketRocketLover Well, it's someones personal property. You got to treat it and them with respect and let them know that you're paying them to see it.
