@leo07201 well hopefully you weren't on a public street because that's retarded. You'll likely need new springs and shocks/struts, caster camber plates, a panhard bar, rear sway bar and a t-lok and gears.

@mustangjustin01 That was kinda hard to read so hopefully this answers your question, it depends a lot on the tune, i was running stock engine clutch and transmission until the clutch began to slip, everything else was fine.
@str8lucks2000GT The transmission is still in the car going strong behind a new combo that makes 397/424, the tranny has 137k miles on it now, it still shifts fine, but the syncros are a bit worn and could probably use a rebuild. The stock block was fine upon removal at 129k miles, it did have low compression (160psi on all cylinders) but the cylinder walls looked clean and the bearings didn't show excessive wear either.
@str8lucks2000GT like most of what was on the car i bought it used, it's just a universal wet kit, the only thing you might have to get extra is the fuel rail adapter.

@str8lucks2000GT yeah ford definitely did some copying/improving with the 3.8l engines, the main weakness are the main caps, but they have been proven to hold over 600hp, and recently someone made 828rwhp with an sc block, so yes with the right mods they are pretty tough little motors.

I ran nitrous on the car for 2 years and never had any problems as long as the car is tuned and jetted right you should not have any problems with detonation. The only thing I ever noticed on my car was the compression dropped but it also had 120k miles on it.
@str8lucks2000GT No one actually pushes a button to kick in their nitrous. Fast and the Furious got it all wrong. I'm guessing he is running a window switch.

@richardjburke just because it rode on a trailer to the track doesn't mean its a trailer queen. from experience, i know that its a pretty good idea since a flatbed back home will usually cost you out the ass and you'll be waiting for hours. no matter how much you beef up the rest of the drivetrain something will break eventually. spraying on launch with tall, sticky tires makes it pretty easy to break a few teeth off your ring and pinion.

@TheMrhoneycutt dude you really need to look into stuff before you run your mouth. I'm 23 with a clean record and even though my LS1 is the WS6 full coverage is 90 a month which is CHEAP. Also the LS1 is rated at 28 mpg while this V6 mustang is 27. Good try
but your LS1 will run 14's maybe. My roomate has a 99 LS1 TA with headers, a tune and a cam and can only make 13.6 passes on sticky tires > thats pretty pathetic...

you would be correct. he put a D1SC procharger on it 2 years ago. he got a tune in it and then blew his head gaskets on the dyno at the car craft summer nats in minneapolis last summer. we fixed the car at the show and drove it home... He was horsing on it one night after bar close and blew it up at about 130 mph. i dont think it cooked a piston, we pulled the oil pan and no aluminum shit. So i think it broke a ring land in the piston. high compr not designed for boost...
he bought a 6.0 iron block truck motor earlier this year and had a complete stroker eagle forged rotating assembly balanced and put in it. the shop just finished it last week. its a 408 inch motor. and he has a set of LS3 heads he is going to put on it. it should be pretty whicked when he gets it all back together and gets a good tune in it. he is putting a 4L80E tranny in it and probably some 3.73-4.11 gears. it smoked the tires at 55 mph last summer on eagle F1's

nice v6 my stang is identical except its stock. doing the 373 gear swap in the stock 7.5 rear on mine and just ordered a k&n cold air. love all the v6 haters on here. v6 mustangs are fun cars to build. you can really feel all the mods as you install them. had a couple v8 mustangs and i loved them. but dont hate on the v6 stangs just got my first 6 banger and they are different than everyone else so that is pretty cool.
thats the funniest thing ive ever seen. Its a v6. 12 is horrible for all those mods. Do you know how much faster a gt would be with the same mods. And id love to see the time without the nitrous. Probably a 150 shot

the car ran in the consistent 12.7 range with a best of 12.6 i would hardly call that 13's. If your car ever makes it to a 12.96 then you can say it runs 13's, and judging by the fact it takes 8 seconds to go 60 i doubt i'll ever see that.
This guy has probably never even seen 12's so don't listen to the haters.
I've seen boosted Honda's running 13's which is impressive for such a small engine, but they have so much money invested in them, it makes me wanna slap them on the back of the head and tell them they could have been running 10's with that money on a properly built V8.

nothing has been replaced, and nothing ever broke. i just pulled the 130k mile motor while it was still running to install a new motor and twin turbos.

the 4.6's aren't all that great in stock from, but the 4v's are pretty decent in stock from, just add rods and pistons and its good to go.

@richardjburke just because it rode on a trailer to the track doesn't mean its a trailer queen. from experience, i know that its a pretty good idea since a flatbed back home will usually cost you out the ass and you'll be waiting for hours. no matter how much you beef up the rest of the drivetrain something will break eventually. spraying on launch with tall, sticky tires makes it pretty easy to break a few teeth off your ring and pinion.

How much weight removal was done?I want to pretty much copy your mods but do a Windstar Intake Cams and Direct Port NX Kit but dont want to have to do too much weight removal.

thats a lot of money to hit a 12.9. could've saved money and got a LS1 running 12's on street tires without having to trailor it to the track. running 12.7 @ 110 on street tires in my WS6 with only ORY pipe and magnaflow

@TheMrhoneycutt dude you really need to look into stuff before you run your mouth. I'm 23 with a clean record and even though my LS1 is the WS6 full coverage is 90 a month which is CHEAP. Also the LS1 is rated at 28 mpg while this V6 mustang is 27. Good try

but your LS1 will run 14's maybe. My roomate has a 99 LS1 TA with headers, a tune and a cam and can only make 13.6 passes on sticky tires > thats pretty pathetic...

you would be correct. he put a D1SC procharger on it 2 years ago. he got a tune in it and then blew his head gaskets on the dyno at the car craft summer nats in minneapolis last summer. we fixed the car at the show and drove it home... He was horsing on it one night after bar close and blew it up at about 130 mph. i dont think it cooked a piston, we pulled the oil pan and no aluminum shit. So i think it broke a ring land in the piston. high compr not designed for boost...

he bought a 6.0 iron block truck motor earlier this year and had a complete stroker eagle forged rotating assembly balanced and put in it. the shop just finished it last week. its a 408 inch motor. and he has a set of LS3 heads he is going to put on it. it should be pretty whicked when he gets it all back together and gets a good tune in it. he is putting a 4L80E tranny in it and probably some 3.73-4.11 gears. it smoked the tires at 55 mph last summer on eagle F1's

@cozzey05 a lot of money? where? Hes got about maybe 4k in mods. And a v6 Mustang is on average 5K, LS1 F bodies are over twice that. So save money? No, and its nice to see something else then V8s for a change. I got a 4.2 Mustang myself that Im working on.

@GMCMan29 twice that much? I paid 7 grand for my WS6 with only 70k miles. less than 500 bucks in mods and i'm running mid 12's. So according to you calculations I'm still cheaper and quicker. Street tires and still trapping about 10 mph faster than he is. Plus its pretty nice still getting about 28 mpg on the hwy...wonder what he's getting

@GMCMan29 street tires, ORY pipe, lid, and free mods...maybe you didn't know but the LS1 is rated at 28, some people can get 30 if they're cruising about 55. Do your research on the LS1 before you run your mouth. Pulled a 1.93 60ft on my 275 nitto 555's

nice v6 my stang is identical except its stock. doing the 373 gear swap in the stock 7.5 rear on mine and just ordered a k&n cold air. love all the v6 haters on here. v6 mustangs are fun cars to build. you can really feel all the mods as you install them. had a couple v8 mustangs and i loved them. but dont hate on the v6 stangs just got my first 6 banger and they are different than everyone else so that is pretty cool.

@04hemigtx1990 Im not trying to be a dick but look at it how I am looking at it. He brought a full out drag car to the track, Slicks, Nitros, god knows what else and he trailered it and its a v6. This is just a slow car for what it is. He also ran a 105 trap wich is a good as he is going to get without adding more power. I just dont know how anyone can see this as a fast car for what it is.

That's kinda how I feel. Why spend a fortune on a s/c or turbo knowing that someone will be faster than you? It's a waste of money and time. I rather my car look nice and decently fast.

the car ran in the consistent 12.7 range with a best of 12.6 i would hardly call that 13's. If your car ever makes it to a 12.96 then you can say it runs 13's, and judging by the fact it takes 8 seconds to go 60 i doubt i'll ever see that.

I've seen boosted Honda's running 13's which is impressive for such a small engine, but they have so much money invested in them, it makes me wanna slap them on the back of the head and tell them they could have been running 10's with that money on a properly built V8.
Nice to see some lower budget builds getting low ETs.

nothing has been replaced, and nothing ever broke. i just pulled the 130k mile motor while it was still running to install a new motor and twin turbos.
