  • Rachel Maddow is a lot smarter than you, dude.

  • It's funny how Miss Maddow or any other of her loony colaborators never showed all of the images of people comparing Bush to Hitler, or going as far as to say "Bush is the disease, death is the cure." Yet another example of Miss Maddow throwing stones from her glass house at MSNBC!

  • @puffball9 That was then, this is now. How far back should she go? 10 years, 30?

  • @jrwel14 it doesn't matter...its the double standard...its only okay when they do it...if someone does it to them it is sacrilege

  • @puffball9 Also, there is a video of the one you speak on Youtube.

  • @jrwel14 yes but that video was not put up by MSNBC...it was someone who was exposing Mr. Maddow's double standard....it doesn't matter how far back you go...the point is that it is only wrong for them to compare Obama to Hitler because he isn't a republican...Keith Olbermann (Maddow's would-be lover if she weren't gay) can be seen calling Bush a fascist but if someone does it to Obama, their intolerant and anti-american...

  • @puffball9 Who is Mr Maddow. Rachel is a female.

  • @jrwel14 As far as the rest of us are concerned she isn't...yes it was a joke, playing off her butchy-ness...but you can't deny her double standard...

  • @puffball9 Double standard?

For telling the truth about lieing conservatives. The person who holds the record for yelling,"Nazi" is Beck.

he joke is Ann Coulter and Crowley. Ann knows very little about what she speaks of.

  • @jrwel14 the difference is that BECK doesn't come on the air a few months later and tell people how 'irresponsible' they are for 'inciting violence with dangerous rhetoric.' you keep saying they 'tell the truth' which is bull shit...they're nothing more than loudmouths that spew their stupid liberal opinions...no news, no facts...just partisan hacks. Bash Ann all you want, she just finds facts and puts her spin on them to infuriate stupid liberals and get them to bitch about her...

  • @puffball9 Ann? She doesn't know what troops are fighting in the mideast or back during the Vietnam war.

Look, all conservatives do is lie. Reagan's budget director talking about the big Republican tax lie. Reagan's Trickle down, Obama's India trip costing as much as 2 billion with 34 ships being involved. The Death Panels. Higher taxes means less revenue. Lower taxes helps the economy. These are just some of the lies by conservatives. And, more people are realizing it. And, getting sick .

  • @jrwel14 Ann didn't know about the troops in Vietnam and President Obama didn't know there were only 50 states...like i said, everyone says stupid shit. If people are so fed up with conservatives why did they get crushed last November? This is a pattern, we go through a long Republican rule, then America says, o lets try something new and they elect a bunch of liberals, then they soon realize that liberals suck and go back to the right...look at the past election cycles...

  • @puffball9 And, Palin said she knew about foregn affairs because people can see Russia from parts of Alaska.

People will find that Conservatives suck as well. Then, it will be Democrats again. Those in power get blamed when it wasn't their fault. High oil prices under Bush, now Obama.

  • @jrwel14 She didn't phrase it like that...the hype on that came from SNL. the difference is conservatives always have the longer reigns of power. Obama isn't doing anything to bring oil down, in fact he proposed a plan to give money to Brazil for them to drill instead of drilling for our own oil! The 'blame Bush' statue has expired, you can't blame his policies on everything, i mean we're passed the mid term for christ's sakes

  • @puffball9 I don't blame Bush for everything. Just not going to act like a Republican and blame Obama for everything. Palin did say that. It's on Youtube.

  • @jrwel14 No one's blaming Obama for everything...just for his faults...not anyone else's

  • Comment removed

  • LOL Yes...the reason we don't want healthcare is because Obama is black.....are these people serious?

Coded messages? Stupid white people? The Tea Partiers want the country to end because we have a black president....?

Seriously...is Maddow a real journalist? I'm sure she was all over the people calling Bush Hitler, and the movie talking about his assassination and everything else. The hypocrisy is maddening; and then they have the gall to call the Tea Partiers a bunch of idiots.

  • Lets see, I want to destroy the credibility of a grassroots movement. I make signs and I pretend to be part of the movement.. Than I go to a rally and I have my friend in the press take pictures of me with my nazi signs and interveiw me.When I get interveiwed I make sure I sound like a bigoted ass so the whole movement looks that way. That is called subversion. That is how the commies do it.

  • He did not make "the same nazi comparison." He compared fundamentalists to brownshirts in the 1930s. Don't be a historical determinist - it was before the war and before the holocaust. Different time, different context, different people.

  • Moorrogue. I don't want to get into a political debate(what would be the point). I do, however feel the need to point that there was ZERO in this video to support your theory of hypocrisy.Shaeffer claims the right is comparing Hitler and Obama and implying that someone should"do something about it" Agree or disagree he never sways from this. You trying to make it something else is (pick one) misleading, dishonest, stupid etc...

  • finerbiner, I agree with you that you should not get into political debates. There is far too much thinking involved. So I will keep this very simple.

Frank Schaefer expresses disgust at conservative activists invoking Hitler and Nazism to criticize Obama, then Schaefer invokes Hitler and Nazism to criticize the activists.

When something is OK when Frank Schaefer does it, and abhorrent when his opponents do it, I dont think its off-base to call it hypocrisy.

  • Yeah... where is the outrage against the thugs who beat Ken Gladney...The lunatic who murdered a peaceful pro-lifer? I am sure Francis is rolling in his grave. I feel the need to bathe after watching these people.

  • Baloney

  • YEa Fox News is better than this, I rather only hear my side and what I want to hear than listen to anything else....

  • Moogrogue, the author pointed out a similarity in a specific *behavior* between brown shirts and teabaggers. The teabaggers and their handlers OTOH don't make any such comparisons, they simply scream Nazi to incite anger and hate. Your attempts to mischaracterize and mislead the sheep are duely noted.

OTOH, I do agree, that guy was killer funny, though taking shots at rightards is almost too easy...

  • Are these news people serious...displaying NAZI symbolism...Hell yeah, because that is what we have going on in our country is the same shit Hitler brought to Europe. Research history people...This bitch is part of their plan and she will turn u against ur neighbor in a heartbeat...Don't let them use this BS against our great minds

  • Liberals are so racist. How many times did this guy say something about 'white males'? And then he goes to the old fallback position, "anyone who disagrees with our black President is a racist."

That's the kind of informed debate we need. If you people think that 46% of the voting population (those who voted McCain) are racist you need to be medicated. Do you really believe that? Really?

  • Allow me to teach you what a fucktard you are.

One can make INCORRECT allusions and one can make CORRECT allusions. Those who say Obama is a nazi are making incorrect illusions. Those who say the rethugnicans are nazis are making correct allusions.

No hypocrisy at all. Merely truth, fact and logic.

  • wow awesome lesson. i learned that you can swear and that you can easily be confused between fact and opinion. oh yeah clever new word "rethugnicans." it is amusing to see people try and categorize others who don't share their opinion as if they know them.

  • "i learned that you can swear and that you can easily be confused between fact and opinion."

That is your opinion. The fact is that I do not confuse fact and opinion.

    Game over.

  • and the establishment of Germany by superior force as a dominant world power. The party was officially abolished in 1945 at the conclusion of World War II.

2.a person elsewhere who holds similar views.

  • noun

1.a member of the National Socialist German Workers' party of Germany, which in 1933, under Adolf Hitler, seized political control of the country, suppressing all opposition and establishing a dictatorship over all cultural, economic, and political activities of the people, and promulgated belief in the supremacy of Hitler as Führer, aggressive anti-Semitism, the natural supremacy of the German people,

  • Yeah, the Nazis sold themselves as socialists. And allied themselves with Mussolini's fascists.

One day you may learn enough to understand that there is no difference between the far left and the far right other than the fairy tales they use to sell themselves.

If you think Obama is at either of those extremes then you are a fucktard. Really. You are too stupid to live. Go shoot yourself. I bet you have a lot of guns to do it.

  • i have never once made the claim that Obama is either left or right or that any politician actually operates in that system factually(making you the fucktard for that assumption). i know there is no difference between left and right but that does not excuses the medias hypocritical action in delivering commentary disguised as news.

the fact that you don't see that makes you stupider than I so i'll pull the trigger but, you first toolbar.

  • "i know there is no difference between left and right"

Really? Really, really, really? There may be no difference between what is sold as left and right in some political systems, but you want to tell me that left and right (in theory) are indistinguishable?

Come back to me when you understand reality.

  • @bdf2718

Yeah, theres a very clear and defined difference. Right advocates smaller govt, the left advocates larger govt. Nazis were the German version of Italian fascism and the Nazis did take over businesses and have very strict regulations. Fascists were considered a watered down, diluted version of Communists. The Commies referred to Nazis and Italian Fascists as right wing not because they actually were right wing, but because they didn't believe they were left enough.

  • @bdf2718

If you go too far to the right, you would get complete Anarchy, if you go too far to the left, you get pure Communism, it doesn't form a circle. I don't know what over-enlightened professor tried to teach you that one, but it makes no sense. If you actually look at Hitlers policies (aside from war and genocide), what Obama has done actually has similarities. But I suspect you know NOTHING about what Hitler preached aside from the whole superior race and war aspects.

  • @bdf2718

Actually read a little bit about the history of the politics in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and you might actually learn something. Spewing Keith Olbermann and Obama talking points will never make you look too smart.

  • @dahoeb

You really are an idiot. You think there is a substantive distinction between industry controlling government and government controlling industry. Far right, far left and far middle are just excuses for totalitarianism. The only difference is the fairy story used to sell it.

You have antibodies to reality. Go back to Bizzaro World.

  • @bdf2718

Industry doesn't make/enforce laws. No matter how much lobbying they do, they don't sign the bills, the responsibility falls on our elected officials. Industries and businesses can't force you to do anything. You don't HAVE to buy any of their products. I can't think of one point in history in which the government took orders from an industry, in fact history proves the opposite.

I don't know what you're smoking man, but save some for me.

  • @dahoeb

You don't know any point in history when government took orders from industry? Strictly speaking, you're right. Whether it's fascism or communism the two were in collaboration. All that differs is which is the senior partner.

You seem ignorant of the "lobbying" that takes place in the US where big companies buy politicians. The US is well on its way to Fascism. Prescott Bush would be proud of his grandson.

  • @bdf2718

I'm pretty sure I mentioned the lobbyists. But the fact remains, the companies DO NOT and CAN NOT sign bills into law. So ultimately, all they can do is pay the money and pray the politician does what they want. So the politician in the end has the power.

You think businesses collaborated with the Nazis and Commies? If by collaborate you mean "took orders or got thrown in a gulag/concentration camp".

  • @bdf2718

You realize that the Nazis and Commies were helped into power by bashing those companies and threatening (and going through with) taking them over? Ok, just making sure. But yeah, they're best friends.

  • @bdf2718

just out of curiosity, you bash Bush a lot (which I understand, we all do), but how do you feel about Obama? I do agree with you that the US is on it's way to a form of fascism (business takeovers, bailouts, new regulations and govt agencies, healthcare etc....)

  • @dahoeb

Oh shit. Your naivete (I spell it "stupidity") beggars belief. " No matter how much lobbying they do, they don't sign the bills." Yeah, merely determine what is in the bills and whether or not the president signs them. You fucktard.

"I can't think of one point in history in which the government took orders from an industry," Does the phrase "military-industrial-congressional complex" mean anything to you?

  • @bdf2718

Guess what, the businesses don't WRITE the bills either? How many ways do I have to break this down for you? And they're STILL not the ones to sign it, our elected president does. So in the end, the politicians still hold the primary power! You can call me fucktard, superficial or whatever else makes you feel smart, but it doesn't change the fact your making yourself look like a dunce.

  • @dahoeb The politicians are bought by businesses. Mark Twain knew it!

  • @bdf2718

"I can't think of one point in history in which the government took orders from an industry," Does the phrase "military-industrial-congressional complex" mean anything to you?

    1. You agreed with me on that point...I guess you changed your mind?

    2. "Military-industrial-congressional-complex" is used to DESCRIBE a govt way of doing something, but it's not an actual form of govt. It's like describing symptom. Just because you cough does not mean you have tuberculosis.

  • @dahoeb

OK, you're a troll. A subtle one, but a troll.

Or a complete fucktard who believes that the government functions independently of any influence upon it when all the evidence shows the precise opposite is the case.

  • @bdf2718

I never said the govt functioned completely independently, I simply said that businesses weren't the ones in the drivers seat. You keep stating all this stuff about evidence, but you still haven't mentioned a single example. Oh well, I'm just a fucktard, (name calling, not really something winning arguments are made of btw). I don't really disagree with your premise, I just don't think it's as extreme as you do. We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

  • @bdf2718

Another example: Nazism ( a cousin of fascism) may have practiced the military industrial complex (minus the congressional), but the "industrial" part still took orders (ie. productions requests, design requirements, etc..) from the military. And the military still took orders from the government.

Making sense? I know you may be too "enlightened" for all of this, but I'd think a genius like you could see the hypocrisy in your own arguments.

  • @bdf2718

" Oh shit. Your naivete (I spell it "stupidity") beggars belief." "You fucktard."

Translation: I can't think of any meaningful, substantive argument that has any historical precedence, so I'm going puff out my chest, try to sound smart, and type in some filler.

Facts are stubborn things, you should be learning that by now.

  • @dahoeb

Facts are immutable. Understanding what they mean demands intelligence. Which you do not have.

  • @bdf2718

"Facts are immutable. Understanding what they mean demands intelligence. Which you do not have" - hahaha whatever you say buddy, I'm still waiting on your real facts or references to support your argument. All you've been doing is attacking the messenger, not my message. Always a winning strategy.

  • @bdf2718

I see you're perspective and I see what you're getting at, but ultimately, the government will always be more powerful. Looking at history, the closest thing to what you're talking about was probably Britains "East India Trading Company". But guess who eventually took that over, the government.

Seriously man, it's obvious you're probably just a pothead with no idea as to what you're talking about, read some real historical books and then take a stance.

  • @dahoeb

Oh my fucking non-existent deity. You are so superficial. You never look at the implications of anything you read.

  • @bdf2718

"Oh my fucking non-existent deity. You are so superficial. You never look at the implications of anything you read"

Translation: I don't have any historical evidence or proof to back up what I'm saying, so I'm going to call you stupid and other bad names to change the subject.

Just because you and your friends thought you all sounded smart discussing this at starbucks doesn't mean you guys know what you're talking about.

  • I recently recieved a copy of the easier to read version of the health care bill sent out by congress in pdf format and I have added a link to it in the comment section for anyone who wants to take a look at it. Do not fall for all of the fear tactics. Nobody is trying to kill you or anyone else.

  • communism in the usa.

  • Frank schaefer is very insightful individual. His book "crazy for god" was very interesting. I'm glad he found his way out of lala land and back into reality. Bill buckley went through the same experiance. He eventually went on to clean up the GOP. I hope Schafer can do the same thing.
