  • i bought an EINHELL BMG 135 as it was on sales....50%...do u think it's enough for this? thnx

  • With this video I dived into the deep end and used a dremel for the first time, I got a pritty good circle and the use of the tape was a life saver, still made a mess and broke all 5 cutting discs but it got the job done.

Though the cutting blades didn't cut through metal case on my xbox 360.

  • hi can you make for me? my draw picture awesome i want put it on my case side windwos of nzxt case.

  • I think the Dremel 4000 comes with a special tool for cutting circles.

  • I repair tooth of tungstene carbide with my Dremel :)

  • try to do it with out anything lik me... IN fucking Latvia...

  • dremels can do anything, even build a house.

  • i have a dremel that is cordless, and i like it, and think it has a lot of power... i have never owned a dremel before, but i do not have a problem with it.

  • awesome bill, thanks you helped me out a lot here!

  • I'm just getting tons of sparks, not much cutting. What am I doing wrong?

  • Would the discs work with Rotacraft RC18?

  • You are a legend will post vids of my project when finished

  • see now i know not to force the blade, thats what i did and i killed 2 blades in under a minute, thanks for the advice, now i cut properly =]

  • these disc aren't "reinforced with aluminium oxide so they last longer". aluminium oxide does the actual cutting, reinforcements are provided by fiberglass mesh

  • Where can you buy that fan cage?

  • What RPM do you recommend for cutting computer cases? I am doing a bigger window on my PC. Thank you so very much!

  • I need to make vents in my PS3 Slim casing, will this work?

  • I need to do hardcore cable managment on my antec 900 today............boy time to goto home depot and get a drill.........this is gonna be a long day.

  • If you add a "pen" to the dremmel it's even MORE easy to cut a side winow holes out.

  • That looks pretty hard.

  • That's exactly what I needed to watch - about to make a motherboard backplate hole on my Antec P180 - thanks dude :)

  • @scottylans Thanks again dude, only 3 hours after making my comment here, had I purchased the same model you have here and done this perfectly - lucky for the information on the tape. Also you're right about forcing the discs, if you use light weight doing it, barely uses the disc, if you want to save time and push, it cuts much faster but wears our 3x quicker. Also my discs sucked, where can I get your ones? They look larger than the ones which mine came with and yours cut faster.

  • @scottylans, my store link is posted below the video, theyre reinforced discs, so they last longer than Dremel brand, Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • omg thnx so much.

  • Do you know the part number for is the cutting wheel?

  • !!wow its extremely quiet!!

  • hodně sraček okolo a nic neukážete........

  • are those 32mm resin cutting disc's that are being used?

    thanks

  • i will need / want a dremmel. doesnt have to be the brand dremmel, but a cutting power tool like it, dont care about the brand. could you tell me where i can get one as cheap as possible? thanks

  • Help me pls my dremel 4000 broke in five first minutes of use go to my channel and it is the newest vid pls i need help....

  • i should be gettin one of these today for this exact purpose...... GOT ME EXITED! (speling fayul)

  • Microsoft should've placed an extra heavy-duty fan in the top of this unit, everyone I know has modded theirs.....I finally done mine, works much better, used a 70mm fan (12.99) at Radio Shack and the handy tip shown in this vid.

  • I WOULD END UP fucking my xbox up beyond belieef lol

  • Very useful, just what I was looking for. Thank you.

  • it's a lot easier to cut straight lines if you use the right angle attachment

and for holes, i would just drill it out and then use a grinder attachment to make the edge smooth

  • Hey your box wasnt empty!!!

  • thanks excelent tuto, from colombia.

  • Thanks, this will really help me for modding the 800D to fit a 120.4!!! For Project "elegant Dreams"

  • Can you give me the cutting wheel no. I mean which one do you use 409, 420, 429 ?

  • cool intro

  • I have a 200mm fan I want to put in my lancool pc-k62 would it look alright if I done 4, 80mm or 120mm holes and put grill covers over them and then mounted the 200mm. Or how would I cut a hole big enough to mount a 200mm

  • i have a cordless and it works like a charm!

  • Thanks a 1000 times!!

I bought a black and decker dremmel whit ajustable speed and smart placed fan holes!

It makes so many things so much easier!

  • @nills99, it's a nice unit, I reviewed it awhile back :)

  • @MonsterMawd HEY GUYS AMAZING MOD!! JUST ONE QUESTION DO YOU KNOW WHERE CAN I FIND THE GAS,REVOLUTION SCALE THAT CARS HAVE FOR MY PC!!!!

  • @nills99 a black and decker dremel?

  • @eers2ya A Dremel clone by Black & Decker -.-

  • why not file with the dremel too?

  • Any specific dremel you recommend for case modding?

  • thanks for the tips, i have used many tools before, but never a rotary tool, it looks like it could slip away quite easilly if i didnt do it correctly.

  • what kind of dremel do you use?

  • To make neat circle cuts one could use the "Dremel Circle Cutter & Straight Edge Guide - 678-01". It's only about $15 and can do circles from 1.9cm-30 cm (3/4" -12"). Very neat.

  • 2:47 sounds nasty!

  • I'm better with the Dremel when cuting fan holes than i am with the jigsaw....

I'm afraid that if i start twisting my jigsaw the blade will break and fly directly into my legs

  • I can't find that tape you use online. Is there a website where you bought yours from? I tried searching "Scotch Low-Adhesive Tape" but didn't get any useful results...

  • @youyouyouguy you can just use a painters tape too

  • argh staring at that holy metal at the begining made my eyes hurt

  • nice tutorial. thanks :)

  • These are handy tools, but I think they're a bit over rated. I modded my Antec 300 (window, cable management slots, fan grille mods) using a 4" cut-off, a drill and hand files. Regardless I bought the Dremel 400 Digital /after/ I'd finished.

  • just bought one of these today, plan on doing alot of cutting with it, what speed is recommended for cutting sheet metal / aluminum?

  • So a dremel can be used to make the whole window in case of not having a jigsaw? because with the curve technique (which is really useful) the rounded corners can be made. Or is there a reason for not using a dremel for the whole window and get a jigsaw instead (other than being easier)?

  • You can use Dremel, but Jigsaw is more efficient.

  • gracias bro.

  • For a 120mm fa what size does the hole saw have to be? and whats the minimum power you need to cut through the top of your case, i have a cordless drill but its only 14v i doubt its enough to cut through a pc case with a hole saw attachment

  • @SaiE8 4-1/2 hole saw and that should be able to cut through a case (I believe but I could wrong) remember if it is steel you want to use some form of lubricant on the blade.

  • you guys make some brilliant tutorial videos :o

  • il dreme è impagabile

  • Just got a Dremel 300 yesterday. Thanks 2 ur tips I appear 2 b getting a lot of mileage from the cutting wheel. But how do I get it 2 no kick out n e sparks like u? I'm not using tape 2 protect the metal as it will b painted n e way.

  • Cut Steal :) be careful, wear glasses please, Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • I know this video is old but I have cut steel with my dremel stylus. It is fantastic. I sold my 300 and 400 after getting the stylus. It is fantastic. Holds a powerful charge all the way til the very end. Now if your going to be doing hours of continuous work get a cord. but I set my stylus on the charger in between use and I can cut case steel for hours. and that battery doesnt die from constant charge. it says so in the manual.

  • thats great to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • thanks for the tips and info

doing my first case mod and all

also, what the hell is that audio track in the start of the video from? :-/

  • some copyright free music, no title...Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • what dremel bit should i use to cut xbox 360 case?

  • I have used the 1,5inch / 38mm it worked just fine to cut trough the thin sheet the 360 had.

  • thank you i made what you said and its workd! see video response! :P

  • Yes, and Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • Bill knows his stuff

  • what's the name of that tape?

  • masking tape used for taping off trim when painting houses

  • I will try to cut an apple logo in my case (steel). Do you think a dremel will do the job? Or perhaps should I go to cut my case with a waterjet machine (water cut)?

  • sure, if you take your time.

  • same disks as in the video for steel cutting?

  • Yes, Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • Whatever is possible, I think a water-jet machine would be best, because it would be a more precise cut.

  • Maybe so, but not too many water jet cutters ( if any ) are made for the hobbyists or home use, lol

  • I wish! hehe, Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • Well, I have been watching videos like yours, as I was thinking of maybe moding my tower's case out to add an extra fan to help keep everything cooler.

  • BTW, once you have the hole & everything attatched, how do you power the extra fan?

  • is a cordless dremel powerfull enough to cut tru plastic or the fiber body kit of a bike ?

  • Cordless dremel is fail

  • probally not.

  • you guys are always so informative for the novice moder and even some pro get some hints to help them GREAT JOB!!!

  • Thank you for your support and comment!

  • Cool Into

  • Yes but at low speed or it will melt the plastic.

  • dobry poradnik ;p

  • im sure you can, ive just used it to put a window in my ps2, although the speed made the cutting wheel hot and it melted it a tiny bit, but it dose a great job. and on the box it says plastic, metal, wood, glass, fiber glass... so yeah

  • well i`M cuting acrylic and works fine to me (USE SAFETY GLASSES)

  • im glad i did not make the round holes otherwise i was seriously hurt :P the cuttingweels flew off a couple of times and they would have hit me.. fortunatly now i only almost headshotted my neighbour^^ Thanks for the sharing, i made my own ventholes now instead of spending 80 euros on parts. The dremel was cheaper!

  • tHANKS A LOT FOR SHARING!

  • I think yes, Kipkay from Make magazine uses it to cut plastic.

  • Comment removed

  • I use electric jigsaw when cutting straight lines, :-)

  • when i cut using my dremel, i get lots of sparks, is that natural ?

  • natural???? you mean normal... lol ;)

  • this guy sounds like he's rolling his eyes when he says.

3.32 "look you've done it you've made a cooling fan hole.... how awesome is that, such a versatile tool."

yeah yeah, we know, hole saws are better :D.

  • Fuck this guys got some good trick !

  • I was cutting holes for my pc and I wasted like 10 cutting discs trying to cut one darn hole.... then I watched this vidieo and i found out that i had aluminum oxide discs =D... fml

  • yea, you have to have the harded ones, they're also bigger and less flimsy

  • i waste alot of disk too .

but i take my big Grinder at the end ... LOL

  • hallo,

  • Where did you find Scotch / 3M low adhesive tape? I looked on their site and my local home depot and nobody has ever heard of it. I was going to use blue painters tape if I can't find this. Any tips? Do you have a link?

  • mnpctechDOTcom/casemodstore.html

  • Try 3M 90 spray adhesive. I didnt want to buy it online so I bought 3M spray adhesive at my local home-depot and it did the job.

  • thanks. im sure your videos will come in handy when i get round to using it!

  • I really love your videos.

I guess with making the whole you could also make an incision like how you showed and then used a jigsaw for the rest maybe?

  • Yes, you can use the dremel first :) Thank you!

  • Would this cut through the metal inside case of an Xbox 360?

  • yes, but use the reinforced cutting discs, same as ones in video for cutting metal
