  • awesome! love the way he's giving the instructions.

  • Hey anybody.

I'm getting a bike on my 18th birthday would a 600cc be good for me considering I'm 6ft nd 165lbs? Anyone answer

If your wondering ya I've driven a motorcross bike before but not as much CCs

  • Do you let off the gas when shifting up?

  • @katie16522 yes

  • @bplawlor how much do you let off the gas?

  • This guy has great balance.

  • @cujoote. Yep a hayabusa. I know wht your thinking but thts wht I want. I've heard alot of riders say start small. Then I've heard alot of riders say get wht you want. Thy tell me just because it has alot of power doesn't mean you have to use it.

  • guy question why when we wan to switch from 2 to 3 we have to release the clutch slowly ?

  • Im a first time rider. And I was wondering would you release the acceleration on a hayabusa when you apply the clutch.

  • @MrNomo7 First bike is a Hayabusa? Really..?

OT: just a lil.. *atleast.. thats what i do..*

I release my gas a lil, cant tell how far/long.. ill just let it go, and pull it again..

    *wow.. fucked up english:)

  • "We recommend taking a safety class..." Guy pulls out with jacket. I'm sure they cover that in safety class.

  • i love how the bald guy knows where a clutch and brake lever are

  • @ROBOTNINJA500 yea he had the clutch and brake backwards… lol

  • Thanks...!

  • down shifting lol fail !

  • the dude went out on the bike in a t-shirt lol wtf?

  • thnx dude

  • thanks bro" this vid helps" coz i bought a 2000 yamaha r1 ONLY SECOND HAND" superbike" gdblss you"

  • The shift lever doesnt actually move further up physically for every upshift does it? Its just a click up = upshift? Also to get back to neutral from, say, 4th gear would you have to downshift through all the other gears?

  • when changing gears up (2,3 etc) is the gear leaver heavy or do you have to apply a lot of force upwards to change the gear??

  • @TheKlaj1992

No, the resistance should be the same through all the gears. The shift from 1st to 2nd (though neutral) tends to be a little notchy on some bikes, but there shouldn't be any resistance. If you are noticing increased effort, you probably need to work on your throttle roll-off and clutch coordination.

  • You forgot to mention (when referring to shifting from 1. to 2.) that you should let release of the acceleration ...

  • @epvplatin

You have to quickly release the throttle when shifting up through the remaining gears as well, not just on the 1st to 2nd shift.

  • OH MAN!! I hate this I wrote bicycles (like mountain crazy biking all my life) is ssso Fricking confusing to go to motorcycles. Bicycle from left and right brake.

Motorcycle left clutch, right front brake!! And I often think you can move the bike like a bicycle because the mind set is not used too it. TISK TISK!

  • should the balls of the feet always go back on the pegs when not changing gears or using the rear brake? I'm not 100% on foot positioning when not transitioning gears or utilizing the rear brake

  • @mkang1986 since no one answered your question i thought i would... first of all theres two setups for changing gears.. theres the stock 1 down 5 up... or theres gp style like mine which is 1up and 5 down... as far as where to plant your feet when not changing gears... you want your toes on the pegs... this allows for you to lean the bike without worrying about your feet dragging... hope that answers your question...

  • @bluegreen988, to my knowledge yes i think it is

  • in a car if u r in a first gear, realease the clutch slowly car will move w/out stepping the gas pedal ,is it the same as the motorbike..?

  • @bluegreen988 You can completely take of without gas on a motorbike just by feathering the clutch lever.

  • @ExiasRevenger thanks next week will start the bike lesson..

  • what happened if u r in 5th or 4th gear then stop .would u put the gear into 3rd or back to neutral..

  • @bluegreen988 downshift into first while you're slowing into a stop

  • @djbiggyb thanks

  • I read this book before going into my course and it helped a lot.

next how to ride a hayabusa.

  • lets say you meet a stop sign your on 2 gear then do u shift down or it does automaticaly?

  • so till third gear you dont need to realese aceleration ?

  • @111seeit you always have to release acceleration.... just like on a manual car..... i mean its not necessary but trust me you want to release acceleration.... if you dont when you apply the clutch your engine will rev up pretty high, and when the next gear is in and you let go of the clutch you will take off even faster cause you have the high rpms... but not fast in a good way cause its an unexpected launch from the transmission

  • @FernandezG42 they should redo this video. alot of people could get into an accident for not giving out the right and complete info about this. to take off slowly from neutral to first gear u dont need to give it gas right away. letting go of the clutch slowly the bike will start moving on its own.

be responsible and redo the video.

  • points to break and say clutch the to clutch and say break........as for letting of the throttle you do this as you pull in clutch not before like he says such poor instructions

  • thank so much.i love your bike

  • Why you make video like this when you dont answer on the questions before me ?! :((

  • Can I shift to 1 , just use clutch one time ?

  • forgot to say, let off throttle as you hold in clutch

  • What is going to happen if you release the clutch fast just dropping it?

  • @timoboll777 It shuts off causing you to restart the bike again same with a car

  • @REDWOLF1011 It does not necessarily just shut off because you let off the clutch too fast. If you pop the clutch while stationary, the engine has to try to spin the wheel to match the gear ratio accordingly. since the wheel isn't moving at all, the engine can't just move the wheel to match it automatically, so the engine looses RPM's extremely fast, thus bringing it below operating RPM's and stalling it. Thus where the friction zone comes into play.

  • good instructional video, cant get any clearer than that!!!

  • great video

  • I think i might go down to Michael to buy my first bike.

  • I thought it went from 1st gear then to neutral

  • @livin4tommorow If you havnt found out by now (im sure you have), to go into neutral from first you do a "half shift". instead of moving the lever all the way you only move it part of the way.
