  • By the way, silver carp are edible but can be too bony for many people, especially Americans. Moreover, the Americans regard carp as "trash fish" and therefore not worthy of human consumption.

But the Chinese love them and they've been raising them for thousands of years.

  • Those fishes are called "silver carp" which were probably introduced into the wild when its owner either got tired of keeping it or the carp itself had outgrown its aquarium habitat and, therefore, forced the owner to release it into the wild.

Silver carp jump out of the water when they get annoyed by vibrations generated by boats with running motors. Many of these fishes reach 80-100 lbs. and when they jump out of the water and it hits you, the injury can be severe and, sometimes, deadly.

  • As a chinese , I am really like to eat these fish. these fish are very good food for every Chinese. I an sorry that I can not live in this area to eat these fish everyday

  • they don't eat shit, thats the shrimps job, they eat smaller fishes, i believe they are part of the herring sardine family

  • they're only imported in hard times because thats all ppl can afford in hard times..these fish are bottom grade. get with it, they eat shit from the bottom of a polluted river. would you eat shit from the bottom of a river? well if you eat this fish..thats exactly what youre eating..SHIT

  • @battles151 I hear asian carp is way better than regular carp though

  • Those carp would be perfect for target practice with a shotgun!

  • @GunOwnerDan ya it would be but hears a fact there used to be a target range by the lake but the fish ate the lead balls and died so they closed it down

  • @GunOwnerDan YEAH forget about skeet! We have CARP

  • God bless these great fish and multiply them exceedingly

  • BEWARE. ASIAN PIRATE CARP, coming to a river near YOU. SOON

  • This problem should be taken very seriously. Could feed many people at the same time.

  • This video is a fake

  • lol u dumb this shit is a serous problem in states its been on news here in canada a couple times.I'm pretty sure u.s miltary was gonan dump in poision to kill them off before they spread in great lakes.

  • Drag net them and grind them up for fertilizer. Then shoot all the tree huggers that come to protest with waterballoons filled with fish guts. Fuckin pussies.

  • ummm....lardtaziumwadmaster, these SILVER CARP don't eat "weeds", that's grass carp (hence the name)

  • Not exactly zhusller....mercury levels in these SILVER CARP are nil.

  • New gov't study shows mercury in fish carp

from nearly 300 streams across the country.

mercury levels exceeding what the Environmental Protection Agency ...

Mercury consumed by eating fish can damage the nervous system and cause learning disabilities in developing fetuses and young children. The main source of mercury to most of the streams tested, according to the researchers, is emissions from coal-fired power plants.

  • dont kill the carp you C U N T

  • your a fuckin tree hugging pussy these things need to be fished with dynamite and you know it...

  • I kill every carp I can!! You stupid fuckhead. Oh and I just shot 2 stray cats in my polebarn also! Love to hear that SMACK!

  • Dude, if we don't get rid of those carp or at least control them, since y'know don't think we can get rid of them now then we're all screwed. If they get into the great lakes they'll wipe out all the native species by eating all the weeds.

  • Are you sure they eat weeds?? I heard they were filter feeders. We went bowfishing them twice and its a riot! But I dont see how they will not end up in lake Michigan.

  • Yeah, your right. Bighead carp are filter feeders, but I'm not sure about silver carp. They might be the weed eaters. I know grass carp eat weeds though. duh...

  • @Trashfished they are filter feeders

  • haha me and buddy went down the river high waters and fished for em with bow and arrow.......didnt kill/hit any tho. there were probably at least 50 just in a big field about a foot deep.

This fish names in hungary :"busa"...

Crazy fish... The hungaryan fishing record (in hook) is cca. 50kg...

  • how did the us government let this get to such a massive scale that it is now a eperdemic

  • Turn the carps into fish chips man,are you stupid or what ? this is a blessing not a curse, there are more spreading hunger then spreading carps in America.

  • have fishing and bow hunts to eliminate these things

  • i have some of those in my pool, lol

  • Fry them for bfast , lunch and dinner, that'll solve the problem.

  • They're not really any good to eat.

  • They are as good to eat as any fish found in fishticks, macfish sandwiches, or anything od the sort.

  • Is any fish good to eat?

  • Despite the romours. Carp are edible , delicious and eaten in every part of the world. In fact they were intially importned for food during hard times.
