I wonder if the doctors thought about the fact her left leg atrophying because it hasnt been used(to weaken) so she cant even have the ability to extend her front foot. The substitute might actually create more stress because the elphant is just carrying it around and not even putting it on the floor.
If they can give a (for lack of a better word, in this situations) prosthetic leg to an elephant, why can't they do it with horses instead of putting them to sleep when they have a leg injury because they need to evenly distribute their weight? That's why they did it here.
Whenever a horse injures it's leg, they should amputate and give it a fake one, like they did with this elephant.

Most race horses are put down because it would cost too much to amputate, buy and attach a prothetic leg, the therapy to get the horse accustumed to the leg and even then they probably wouldn't be able to race again. It disgusts me just thinking about it - humans can be so greedy they'd happily throw a life away to save some money :/

If they get an animal, they average it's food consumption and subtract that from their income and decide if it should live or not.

Wow, these people are so awesome! I'm so glad that she has such wonderful, giving people helping her out. She looked a little nervous to put weight on it, but I'm sure as time goes on, she will get used to it. God bless her and all who have helped her.
I saw a documentary about Motala on TV and I started to cry when I saw what had happened to her. I am so happy that she is getting better by the help of so many dedicated people. I heard that a prosthetic was going to be made for her to permanently wear.

Wow, these people are so awesome! I'm so glad that she has such wonderful, giving people helping her out. She looked a little nervous to put weight on it, but I'm sure as time goes on, she will get used to it. God bless her and all who have helped her.

I saw a documentary about Motala on TV and I started to cry when I saw what had happened to her. I am so happy that she is getting better by the help of so many dedicated people. I heard that a prosthetic was going to be made for her to permanently wear.
