I dont want to offend anybody but i personally believe that handlin venomous snakes is mighty stupid. I am a Christain and I believe every word of the Gospel but i dont think God was intendin for us to handle snakes when Paul was bitten and lived. Now if thats what you believe then good for you.

On a second note how could Snake handling Churches be illegal? Wouldnt that fall under the Freedom of Religion clause of the First ammendment of the Constitution?

If you think about it, though, it's actually quite beautiful. These people trust God to the point that they're passing around rattlers: only God would keep you from dying in a snake zone like that.

Wouldn't YOU like to have such faith in God that you could pass around a snake and truly think God won't let it bite you? I'd like to have that much faith.

@TurtleShroom I live on Sand Moutain in Alabama and there are quite a few churches that practice snake handling around here, in fact one of the "City Confidential" episodes was filmed in Scottsboro, Al, regarding the so called minister that tried to kill his wife by holding her hand in one of the snake cages until she got bit by the biggest one. Didn't work, she lived... Moral of the story? Even deadly snakes can't kill a...... What is the point of this anyway?? I say skin em and eat em!! yummy

I say we re-legalize snake handling churches, if for nothing else than the comedy value!

This being said, the snake thing actually comes from the book of Acts, where a viper bit the Apostle Paul, and THE SNAKE died, because God had held off the poison by His own miracle.

The snakers use their diamondbacks as props in their sermons as a gesture of faith. They believe God will insure the snakes won't kill them.

well there are crazy people in every religon and once in a while u get a bad church dosen't mean the religon or everyone who believes in that religon is bad like i went 2 one penicostal church and i told the prechers wife that my baby sister had autism and they all started screaming SATIN and said my sis was the devil and i went 2 another penacostal church and said the same thing and they where very kind it all depends

@08lamborghini1 i have 2 thank u because children with autism are very hard 2 handle and it takes alot of love and strangth my sis she is very sweet she just can't comunicate and what the precher did that scared her is he was yelling and everyone else was yellin and it scared her a lil so she cryed i really don't think she was pussessed cuz yelling scared her but i do have a question for u my sis is 8 years old but she is havin trouble with potty training do u have any tips u could give me
