  • i cant get the moves, but seriously i would love to learn this dance, there is no instructor around my place, can anyone pls help me,i need to learn this dance, its my dream to become a belly dancer.

  • omg thanks so much I've learned so much from you especially since I can't take belly dancing lessons

  • omg thanks so much I've learned so much from you especially since I can't take belly dancing lessons

  • Yeah, I have a bad knee & oddly enough it doesn't bother me as much when doing down 8's, but on up 8s I have to lift my heels a bit. Atleast for right now. I'm in physical therapy for the right knee, so as it gets stronger I'm sure I'll be able to stay flat footed more often.

  • Wow, okay I feel really jello like. You are great. I think I will be able to do it thanks to your instruction. Keep up the good work!

  • your a great teacher, thanks!

  • You are good I like your instruccions.

  • ihr fremde leute seit gestört nur wir können so was weil das ja auch von uns kommt arabien you dog

  • thankx for uploading.. i really love belly dance.. and the way you do ahh it's awesome!!1

  • i do tribal

verticle fig. 8 - done as if standing between two panes of glass [or "drawing on a wall"] no forward motion [as you mentioned] it can be done as an outside, maya move or an inside taxim, move. simple horizontal fig. 8 you are 'drawing' the 8 around you, you are in the ctr where the two circles meet.

i like feet on the floor too, but once in a while i get this urge to "go uber" & lift my foot, it depends on the music & the effect i want.

kudos for being brave enough to do a video

  • uummmm, a maya is up ... out ... down... like you are drawing a C with your hip; and you can do a double maya on each hip [kinda like a you are going to do m but the second bump closes off to centre to make that finished C effect.]

a taxim is down... out.. up... a reverse C <-- that's what it looks like you are doing?

  • I think i mess up and call this a maya.. but really it is called up eights. these eights are drawn horizontally (like on the wall - instead of on the floor). Maya's go "out and down" Taxim is very diff in diff dance (cabaret, tribal)

  • I love this move but I keep swinging forward when my hip comes back down. Any suggestions???

  • well the first step to correcting this is that you are aware of it. secondly, slow down and really work on doing it correctly, building muscle memory. maybe try standing close to a chair back. it is all about the practice, keep it up.

  • One of my favorite moves ^^

    Thanks for the video!

  • you are a good teacher but somehow your hair and long sleves are distracting.

  • good suggestion i was thinking the same thing

  • your a Good Teacher, but somehow your excessive clothing distracts me.

  • hmmm this does not show a maya very well. it appears that my hips are swaying "front to back" I will remake this video. there should be NO front to back movement - only side to side.
