  • Check out Ceratec's video!

  • ceramic tiles NEVER wear out.. suuuure.. lets see what happens if i wear shoes with spikes on

  • Stain resistant? I beg to differ...

  • They bake them on WOODEN racks at 1075 degrees? Hmmmm....

  • @kpdsza Ever used a kiln at a school? Wooden racks.

  • @angelica319

    I am interested, contact me @ donanu@yahoo.com

  • @angelica319 No, sorry, I never have. It just seemed odd to me. Doesn't the wood just turn to charcoal? After all, that's how charcoal is made, high heat, no oxygen.

  • 3:53 the clean rounded edges are called bullnose...

  • Does anyone know if the flipping process used at 2:36 is available for use in other processes? What is the company's name in this video?

  • I really wouldn't want to go in that kiln! 0 :-)

  • They are now fully hardened and ready to have their back to the wall !!!!

  • Obviously not wooden racks if thats going in the kiln...

  • Yikes, what sort of camera did they use to film the inside of the kiln? O_o

  • 4:21 what i did at a temp job, however in this video they are FAR more professional

  • I have been working in a tile factory for 5 years. The tile surface is not paint, and there is a much better way of making tile than what they are showing here. We have loaders and unloaders, instead of having to manually stack the tile. The plant I work in is highly automated, but yet there is still 500 employees. The plant I work in makes about 500,000 sq. feet in a 24 hour time period.

  • She sounds like the Black Mesa hazard course narrator lady!

  • These videos are informational. Made for people who aren't as intelligent as the rest of you. So...I don't mind that some things she says are dumbed-down.

  • A walk-in sized kiln. I´ll have to remember never to work at mafia owned tile factories. They will lock me in the kiln and grind my bones and ashes into tile powder. Then mix it with the talc and bake me into tiles and distribute the tiles to hundreds of construction sites. The police will find no trace of me.

  • this girls voice bugs me

  • ma non c'è la versione in italiano?

  • the racks are likely made out of firebrick rather than wood

  • @hdyudu I'm glad that I'm not the only one who caught that discrepancy. No wood racks I know of could stand temperatures described in the video.

  • she does not spell process she pronounces it tard

  • So let me get this right, they bake the tiles at a temperature of 1050 C at WOODEN racks?

  • @MrKaddan HAHAA you are right..doesen't make sense..and her voice is really annoying.

  • @live4shine indeed

  • @MrKaddan whahaha shes just readin whats wrote down for her, no brain necessary

  • no audio?

  • ewwww... i like the british narrator better..

  • Veeery bad quality

  • it block s out the music, wich ussually hides subliminal messages

  • I think we should all thank the makers of this series for explaining that a big oven to bake ceramics is called a "kiln" and that the term for baking tiles is that "so-called 'firing'".

  • or a better script

  • Christ her voice is annoying

  • I need to get hold of some of that wood that lasts through 14 hours in a 1000 degree kiln ...

  • LOL it's an American version of Janet Street-Porter! :-p

  • Her voice is fucking terrible.

  • This is bcuz of the video quality, not her voice, i heard it on tv, its very good.

  • Canadian show.. and if you call the canadian governments call centres, she does all the recordings!!

  • "and ready to have their back to the wall!" oh, ha ha. who wrote that gold.

  • she emphasizes the dumbest words

  • you suck at spelling process

  • @n00ber420 lol i guess i lost there

  • damn her fucking voice is annoying !

  • Comment removed

  • utter bullshite! paint! paint! its called glaze! that dust that is a closely gaurded secret is nothing more than other scrap ceramic smashed up!

  • @kudosmotion Yes it is called glaze, the names of the materials are not a guarded secret however the percentages of each in the mix is probably company information. There may be some scrap material that has been reground however most are probably right from the bag. I would suspect that there is silica, kaolin, feldspar, whiting and some other clay other than kaolin. Most tile bodies do not use grog which would be a ground ceramic material. Perhaps a little frit as well for flux.

  • @kudosmotion

I would suggest that everyone check out the video made by Ceratec on how tiles re made

  • @kudosmotion You have to remember, this show is for the layman and not the industry professional.

  • @kudosmotion silly wabbit NO ITS A COMPANY SECRET

  • How could the camera stand the heating part. Ouch

  • it's call C.G [computer generated] what thay do is run it threw an auther kiln furnace that is cooled down and it not running at the time then C.G the flames into the picture in the combustion chamber part of the tunnle whare the burner boxes fire into located just directly above the racks

  • @hdyudu I see

  • is this a factory in china????

  • automated factories dont have to be in foreign countries...

  • it is ok but id say waste of 5:25
