Just a comment: I was listening to My Cherie Amour, clicked on the link for this....and the music just goes so wonderfully underneath this video, it's like it was made for it. I think I need to order a couple. Thanks for the great music!!
Thanks, please feel free contact me any time to order. You may also want to check out my latest DVD titled "How to arrange any song for solo guitar", I uploaded a sample you can watch right here on this channel. Thanks again!
Fantastic collection of lessons ... I'll need to browse through and order a few.
For anyone who is considering ordering these DVDs - I can certainly vouch for them. I have a copy of "Lately" and Jake goes into great detail explaining how to play the piece. He's a great teacher.
Hi and thanks for the comments on the other videos as well! The DVD you are asking about is certainly available, just click "more info" to the right (next to the little photo of me) to learn more. If you still have some questions, about S&H for example, just send me a regular email, the address is provided. Thanks again!
hey i was just wondering if you sold sheet music or jazz charts for some of your stuff. I think you have a really interesting style, and seeing your ideas on paper would really enlighten me
Thanks for your comment! No printed materials, other than TABs for "My Cherie Amour" and "Babylon Sisters". These are very hard to write out and anyone who has viewed my DVDs has said that they are much more useful than TABs or other notation. Try one and see... Thanks again!
Just received your "After The Love Has Gone" and "My Cherie Amour" DVDs here in the UK only a couple of days after ordering. They are just what I was looking for. Clear and detailed information on all aspects of play. I'll certainly be coming back for more and will be recommending to others.
Just received my DVD's yesterday! And I absolutely love them! This is exactly what I've been looking for! They came fast and packaged well.I've always been intimidated when it comes to jazz but Jake walk's you through step by step. You not only learn the song, but he shows different ways to approach the melodies and chords. I highly recommend checking out his DVD's! Especially if you're someone like me, who learns better by playing beautiful arrangements
hi jake, the "midnight at the oasis" dvd lesson was first rate... no kidding, i learned so much from the video. i still say these are some of the best lessons i've ever purchased. let me know when you have time for a new dvd lesson. all the best.
do you have a clip where your playing slow and point out the minutia? That would be important to substitute for tabs. Any song would do .. just want to see how digestible it would be for me.
Hi! Just click on the words "more info" to the right of the video and you will see all the info, such as title list, my email address, payment options, etc. Thanks!
I've worked through several of Jake's DVDs, and I wholeheartedly endorse his approach. The DVDs may seem a little pricey at first, but when you compare them to the cost of lessons from a competent teacher, they're more than a bargain. And Jake is more than a competent teacher, he's a talented and innovative professional in every sense of the word. I would encourage anyone who wants to expand his/her guitar horizons to give Jake's products a serious look.
Hi Jake, its Adam from New Zealand - as you know I've got this Masquerade and After the love has gone. I'm just about finish learning After the love and am just cleaning up my performance. Also gone a bit of the way into Masqurade. Its been hard at times and at first my fingers were sore but know they are as strong as steel. Also the guitar stuff I use to play is so simple now I've jazzed them all up. My guitar confidence and playing is light years ahead of were it was - thanks so much Jake.
Beautiful Jake a very musical and intelligent voiced arrangement, great execution. Man, don't start making Tabs, it takes you many hours and all these spoiled brats want them for free and not willing to pay a penny for them, I've burnt my fingers there already man, as long as everything is for free it's OK,the moment you ask a few dimes for your hard work you're out of luck, sorry to say, that's the new YT mentality, greets Vic.
thought i'd give my review, for anyone thinking about ordering an instructional dvd. i ordered the "maxine" lesson dvd to try it out. it's excellent. jake goes through the whole song in an easy to understand format. i thought i might a trouble keeping up, but i was wrong. i don't even miss having the tab, it makes me use my ears more. he names the chords and shows where to put every finger. i've been playing chord melody for a few years. this lesson is first rate.
hey jake! i loooove jazz and really really wish i could incorporate it into my music... the only thing stopping me from buying your Nr. 11 Cd is that i dont live in the states (assuming thats where you are) can i still order your cd's if i live overseas (asia.... and austrlia soon)
Thanks! I'm glad you're asking as it gives me the opportunity to clarify and let everybody know: I ship my DVDs to all countries! First Class USPS mail to Australia, NZ and southeast Asia is only about $10 for 1-3 DVDs. Thanks again!
Jake I thorughly recommend and endorse these tutorials, you pretty well manage to teach things I always considered 'unteachable' such as feel, phrasing and expression - particularly phrasing. The one I bought has been a massive asset to my jazz work, thanks man.
Jake, very nice stuff. I'm interested in ordering some of you DVD's but I'm still not clear on how I go about doing it. How do we complete the transaction? E-mail? Thanks, and again, I'm a big fan of Tuck's and am glad I discovered your posts. Your style is great and we share similar tastes in music. Very nice!
Thank you very much, Tuck is a huge influence! Please click on 'more info' to the right of the screen. You'll see prices and available titles and as you'll see, you just need to send me an email or a message through the channel telling me what exactly you'd like, I'll add it up for you, you'll pay with one of the options listed and I'll mail the DVDs. Please let me know!
Hi Nick! Yes, I am sitting back and watching all that money coming in... ;-)Seriously, I'm hoping this will start paying off in a year. I have 10 DVDs now but I think I'll need lots more to make any kind of money. These disks take forever to make but I hope this will be an investment. If nothing else, I'm using this to improve my own playing.
Thanks Bill, that is really a great question! At this moment, as most of my DVDs are visual transcriptions of my performances, they are mostly quite advanced. However, as you'll see on the right under "more info", I am available to be commissioned to produce any kind of DVD for you. If interested, please specify what exactly you'd like to learn and I will produce a DVD for you. Keep me posted. Thanks again!
To anyone considering getting DVD lessons from Jake - I fully recommend it! I bought a copy of the "Lately" lesson and though I've only had time to go through parts of it. it is obvious that Jake puts a lot of effort into these DVDs. He is a great teacher and I am sure that all his DVDs are well worth the money.

questions: i want to know what have you done with your bridge pick up?
what is it called?
and
how does it affect the sound? thank you!!
keep up the good work! thanks for sharing!

It is a piezo pickup, in this case a Fishman, and I just blend in a little bit with the regular pickup for some acoustic brightness. Thanks!
