  • Words are insufficient to describe the beauty of this wonderful voice!

  • beautiful!!!

  • Absolutely BREATHTAKING!

  • OHMIGOD...!!!!!!!

  • This is the best interpretation of this very difficult composition by Alabieff.

The voice of Rita Streich is so clear as a crystal, like a drop of water, as a moonbeam. She sung this aria with so much fervor and emotion - unique! Achieved today by anyone.

  • @ALYSSA09MUSICSTARS

    Shouldn't that read "Unachieved" ?

  • Its very, very good....

  • Hör ich immer mal wieder und denke mir so, besser geht es wohl nicht.

  • wonderful, just wonderful!! Thank you for adding to youtube.

  • Rita Streich (1920-1987, she was only 66 when she died) wás PERFECTION in every way. Her clear crystal voice was so recognizable, her breath control was amazing(particularly in this Russian aria) her appearence was styleful, you just had to love and admire her. I don't need a new generation, as this performance cannot be improved. She deserves a statue.

  • I have to thank my besttie romina for telling me about her XD <3

  • Really delightful!! Thank you for posting

  • ...whoa.......I'll rise in a standing O.....after I recover from being blown away...

  • Akira- is special technique-- you can learn it in Vienna, but is very very difficult. And you must stop and learn every single note precisely in exact position, so takes very much discipline to do it. But is possible to elarn. Listen to Janowitz and Popp and it is exactly the same technique.

  • @ardeladimwit who do you think in Vienna teaches such a technique??))

  • @cantodolce personal info is not for internet. sent message. will try to think who might know her, but memory for names is not so good and google maps confuses me. she has temper.

  • gruberovea roll over, you were never ever this clean

  • @ardeladimwit Gruberova need not roll over, but should be proud of her special timbre, range, and artistry. Why the need to run down other exquisite singers just because you like one in particular? This is a stupid and tiresome Youtube behavior.

  • I absolutly love german and italian and latin being sung. I'm proud to call myself a vocalist and strive to be somewhere any where near this perfection

  • Truly a nightinhgale!

  • I've heard some others sing this on You Tube and I love Rita's rendition the best. The ending is awesome!

  • Her voice is so clear - just brilliantly sung.

  • Where can I download this song?

  • From here

  • How do I do that?

  • Take Real Player freeware and install it. Go Internet Explorer to YouTube, search clip, and Real Player downloader will offer you to write it in its special folder.

  • Thank you :D

  • I'ts a beautiful song, to say the least!

  • It's awesome towards the end! Haven't heard anything like that yet.

  • Brilliant!

  • Was Alexander Alabiev in jail when he composed this music? Gosh, this nightingale sounds so restrained and sad in its song, with its flight being curbed and eventually died...Wonderful interpretation and singing by Rita!

  • Yes indeed, Alexander Alabiev was in prison when hearing a nightingale and than wrote this beautiful song. Mind over matter.

  • really..!! i love these backstories. thank you for saying this....i am learning this and this helps with the interpretation so much!

  • sehr schön^^ xD

  • ნეტა როგორ იმღერებს?
