How ironic - the reason so many died was BECAUSE the railways and roads leading to the camps were bombed - German infrastructure was in tatter, bombed to smithereens, with that hunger and thypus were rampant. the mother of my grandmother lived in stettin now sceczin. she moved to Lodz in 1939.

I have german roots (dad is german) but FUCK HITLER!!! Please make sure that a german is not a nazi. She was deportated to chelmno in 1942. But she was chosen for the 'sonderkommando'.

She has alived it... But there are too few peeps that have alived that F**ckin horrors...

I hope something like this is never repeated but after watching those videos I'm real afraid for the future.

The "camps" have train tracks right thru them & elaborate security. They look exactly like this video.

i am jewish there is a lady at my temple who was starved and beat and has a tatoo on her arm from being to concentration camps and all her family died and she is lonely and has been scarred for life by those nazis its not fair what they did to innocent people like them and those childeren looking at dead skinny bodies lying everywhere that is just the worst thing you hear things like this you think about it but you had never had the pain of expieriencing it besides some people who lived

my girlfriends grandmother was sent here

and when we talk about it she starts to cry and it hurts me deeply i really hate hitler he ruined bright futures and destroyed lives these are excellent photos btw. My grandmother was part of the French Underground (she just passed away recently T_T) and told me these amazing storys of her war work and when i got older she told me about these camps and what they did against them. Yes hitler was quite the idiot

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure there are many hidden stories behind all these murders. One of which is a book called "Night" by Elie Wiesel based on his experience in the German concentration camps. A very touching story. I'm sure there're many more like this one which have not been told.

Anyhow, despite what he did, Hitler have got to be a genius to be able to manipulate all these people who work under him. And of course, not all geniuses are nice or normal as a human being.

@animedudeguyman more power to you and your family my friend. My grandfather rescued 50 Jewish families from Vienna in 1936. What happened thereafter changed him forever. Even though it happened before I was born, it has shaped my life entirely too.

Thank you, chococat6191, for a very meaningful video. I too had relatives who were sent from Lodz Ghetto and were put to death at Chelmno. Not an one who did not witness first hand the utter brutality, torture, torment or forced into labor until they died is able to fully comprehend anything of the Shoah. I would like to encourage all who see this to begin to read about, investigate web sites, etc...to learn and remember what was done to so many.

This is a very sad and touching memorial to the victims of Chelmno. When I see the pictures of the victims, I see despair, sorrow and fear. May God embrace them with His love. Thank you for the video. The music is lovely...a very nice touch.

An important compilation video dealing with the first major extermination centre which is less well known due to the lack of survivors.I think the only survivor Srebni(from 1944 centre's reactivation) is featured in Shoah.He was shot in the head & left for dead.

Chelmno was not a concentration camp but a death camp. There were only three survivors.

Most historic photographs are not from Chelmno except for the gas van and the unloading of the trains at Koło and Powiercie although those showing the Łódź ghetto are people who mainly ended up in this death camp.

Other than that thanks for making the effort to show something of this terrible place. I have posted a couple of films on it as well, if anyone is interested.
