No, the 2.8 is an awesome engine! even though they might not have much power, they last forever. And yes, any engine will die at 160,000 if you dawg the piss out of it. My 89 s-10 has a 2.8 with 211k miles and still runs perfect. ON the other hand, my dad has a 91 chevy 4.3 with 289k miles, and his 2nd 4.3 is already getting worn out, cant keep timing chains in it.
