lets go wind power then, you guys can pay for it seeing as your so keen being against nuclear. I'm all for renewable power but it isn't efficient enough to supply demand, and by the way uranium 238 doesn't just blow up.
Current nuclear plants are just over 1% efficient at converting the energy in Uranium to electricity. There are many studies that show how renewables can supply the energy we need (see Scientific American Nov 09)
By the way we would not be as stupid as to say that U238 would just blow up since it is not fissile (it is the U235 which is). Although prompt critical accident is possible (despite the designed negative void coefficient) I do not think many opponents see this as the greatest danger.
I think that was my dads car behind that van down the road... And guess what? My dad was desperate to get into work in 2007 but had to come back because of you protesters, stupid b*tches... I laughed when one of the workers called you a bunch of w*nkers because you are... And because of you and the protesters my dad had lost a lot of money because he weren't at work when he was supposed to be that day! So thanks a lot you unkind bastard, you were clearly stuck up your own arse
How is your dads job doing now? Is Sizewell actually going to re-open or is it shut for good. Why should the tax payer spend billions on subsidising the nuclear industry - clearing up the old waste will cost us at least £76billion. Shouldn't this money be spent on more sustainable jobs?
I agree with gld73..also Protesters piss me off.And yep planes From the USAF based here and the RAF do fly over sometimes. They r there too protect it and U so be Fu*kin greatful. You need to get your head in the real World and out of the Fu*kin Tree of happyness u pricks lol.
Construction costs for nuclear are not the only issue. There is the uranium mining, milling and enrichment to consider. Also there are the massive decommissioning costs. It is important to note that more than 90% of the radioactive waste is from the mining/milling process and this waste should be safely disposed of.
So it supplys 60% of the worlds energy so shut the fuck up and stop wasting workers time and let them get to work. And Phil, go fuck your cunt mother.
Lol, the comments on this page are so stupid! Phil - how do you know what their level of knowledge of nuclear power stations is? Does it matter that they are not wearing bio-degradable clothing? In case YOU hadn't noticed, we live in a society where it is near impossible to escape oil/plastic, whether you want to or not. And Amanda, who said these guys live off the working public? To be an activist do you necessarily have to give up everything? I think not. You guys are, quite frankly, idiots.
He kinda gave it away laughing at people who needed to get to work dont you think? Saying "Ive never had the feeling of wanting to go to work" There are plenty of places to get clothes which are not oil based, if these sort of losers are happy to go out of their way to piss other people off Im sure they could go out of their way a bit to find environmentally friendly clothing.
You motherfuckers havent got the slightest idea about anything, you are complaining about things not being carbon neutral yet you are wearing primarily plastic/oil based clothes which you may not be aware are non-biodegradable.

I think a more accurate figure is 2.4% of the worlds energy supply at most.

Why the hatred against me? It appears we are on the same side.

Thats the classical and typical green mistake ;-). Probably they all came to the site by car.
Besides they know nothing about NPP and their safety records. I would be more concerne about living next to a coal plant.
