  • i think it sounded a bit strange and monotone because we're not used to it like this..

but geez, Uprising: talk about MONOTONE :O

  • anyone else think that it sounded like matt really struggled singing the chorus. his voice sounded weak and like a monotone. im glad he doesn't sing bliss like that anymore

  • wow

    just....

    wow.

the fact that they just made that up, on the spot...

    wow.

these men absolutely cannot be human.

  • @ThePiepin i dont think they made it up on the spot. it was just the first time they had played it live.

  • omg wheres the guitar?

    lol jk this is awesome

  • "The poor keyboard" ... I don't think that ! I think is the luckiest keyboard on the world !

  • Aww, he looked so nervous in the start xD They have changed a lot

  • I got my mom to listen to Muse over the weekend--had a CD mix of their stuff. She liked the keyboards in 'Bliss'. hee hee--she also enjoyed 'Butterflies & Hurricanes'. I think it was the Rachmaninoff inspired piano solo.

  • Sorry but i must say. They keyboard was terrible. But trial and error i guess. Its great now.

  • Roland Juno 60 ffs!

  • hahahah!!!!

  • Hmmm, Ohne Titel, vey interesting... And the Lyrics are interesting too...

  • das festival war 2000 gewesen und zu der zeit war Origin of Symmetry noch net draußen ;)

  • ja scho, abba is trotzdem seeeeehr interessant...

GRUBBEL(ka) ein detusch-sprechender Muse fan und Youtuber!!!!

  • wild crowd -_-

  • I'm so amazed by Matt's haircut! It's awesome! ;)

  • Muse-"Ohne Titel" hmmm...lol, they look so young

  • this festival was in the year 2000 and origin of symmetry wasn't released at this time :)

  • i'm actually not sure, could be another brand...

  • MICROKORG PIANO! YEAH~

  • it says JUNO80 ithink

  • is not a microkorg.. is a juno80 roland

  • lol 0:33 funny stare

  • i love this version so much. if anyone wants to, i got a keyboard cover of this on my channel if they wanna check it out

  • 0:32 (step away, guys)

  • loll Nintendo. this performance is completely Master Card...... Priceless. MUSE FUCKING RULE!!!!

  • 0:33

    matt is crazy! asdasduiahd

  • its amazing to see mat play

  • this is freaking amazing!!!!

  • that crowd has no soul in them at all. this song is supposed to be about happiness and energy and joy, not about a lifeless crowd watching soon to be famous band performing a classic, original song that every person should be jumping up and down for and punching their fists in the air

  • i think its cause they havnt heard it before, well some people were shakin their heads n jumping around lol

  • its about happiness, yet somehow to me it feels like a song about jealousy. its great. ha

  • envying someone's happiness...?

  • maybe hes depressed and wants to be like the other person. idk.

  • who doesnt want to be like matt? :P XD

  • My sis, but she doesn't like Rock, so that explainable... But who doesn't like Rock?

  • True, a Bliss is someone's one thing that makes him really happy.

  • I agree

  • @hellisnextdoor Well, it is Germany. The most serious country in the world!

  • Lol, he looks so smug when he cheated on the intro part! Makes me laugh xD

  • love this version

  • HA! ha ha ha...

    *Matt Bellamy speak*

  • It's amazing how much Bliss has changed since then :)

  • he looks...tall

    strange

    MATT4EVER!

  • lol very...kraftwork in that performance. strange how they left out the guitars. im guessing it was still a work in proggress then. might have been the same year fear factory played there. funny face that matt makes at the start lol.

  • shhuahauhua

  • "HA!"

    Gotta love it XD

  • Matt looks like hes been doing magic shrooms in this video

  • Nice to hear what the first version of Bliss sounded like

  • lol at the crowd.

  • haha man i love muse. its wierd to look back and see like the not so good equipment they had ya know, compared to now. but they were first starting out and thats what they had and all. now they have a synth backing track played while playing this song live.

  • amazing after 3:00

  • his voice sounds whinier here.

  • lol he says 'fuckin hell' at the start xD

  • 3:08 dam hippies lol jk.

  • dpes anyone no what synth this is

  • Sounds like super mario soundtrack x)

  • I so agree! Just listen at 01:51

  • oh my god! it's so amazing! Matt is a genious! goosh! =DD

    Beautiful song with beautiful exects!

  • Does anyone know what kind of effects pedal that is on top of the synthesizer?

  • Matt is a genius. Sunburn -> from guitar to piano, then Bliss -> piano to guitar. Just saying ... Muse rules!

  • haha barmy bonkers, i'm so glad it's "changed" over the years haha, this is a good laugh though

  • sounds a little bit different than the 'new' version... but like it too=D

  • have Muse ever played bliss live on the piano properly? (i.e. no arpegiater thing) I think i saw a video of it somewhere once upon a time but i cant find it again...

  • He once played the intro on piano at Rock AM 04 :p

  • ca fai bizar ss guitare

  • yea i love the nintendo game boy style arpeggios haha

still a great performance tho even without guitar

  • The damn is called bliss because of the theme... the title of the song doesnt have to apear in the actual songtext. He sings: Peace and joy in you mind.

  • ils étaint plus cool que maintenant en live a l'époque

  • he never says bliss in this song anyways lol i prefer this version sounds sweet and nice :) i made a lame song based on this :D hahaha called peace and joy lol

  • And please point out where the lyrics "Bohemian Rhapsody" appear in the classic song by Queen.

  • 0:45 -"Get that faggot Radiohead fan out of here!!" lol.jk, I love Radiohead but it just seems like that's what they would be saying...and i thought it was funny.

  • hahaha

  • Even if it is their first time playing the song, it sounds extremely amateur with the arpeggiator completely out of sync.

  • Wow! Its incredible how much it has changed!

  • is he saying "peace" instead of "bliss"??

  • Yeah is 'peace' and not 'bliss' he never says bliss during the song

  • sounds badass is what!!

  • sounds like computer game

  • Love the blue hair

  • They got there in the end :P

  • lol Matts face at 0:31, what a legend, this is my fave Muse song ever, can't believe how much its changed :O Great hair too :) can't believe how still the crowd are, i know they havent heard it before but still

  • omg, crazy hair for matt there, bliss has changed sooo much, and is my fave!!!!

  • These Bizarre Festival vids of MUSE look so much like they are practicing for bigger and better gigs (paying dues)..kinda thing. Cool. I love the way this crowd has no idea they are watching the the best band on Earth fine tuning their skill.

  • What was that gesture Matt was making at 1:31? x)

  • it means turn down his vocals in his monitor mix cos theyre too loud

  • Oh, okay. Thanks!

  • turn it down

  • awesome ! I love Matt's eyes at 00.33 <3 ^^

  • a verrrrry hot dom there ;)

  • the muse bassist has the best stage presence ever

  • His hair is great. It's better than mine, and I have a Beatles hair style!

  • Jesus,You radiohead and muse fans are both stubborn

Radiohead and muse are probably the best 2 bands on this planet, and i agree on the point that radiohead did pave the way for different sounding bands(like muse) 2 different sounds and its normal for bands to expiriment.

and i love this version,a lot of bands stil use the juno 6/60's and they produce a brilliant

  • haha his laugh makes me smile at the end

  • The version they do on HULLABALOO is still the best. greatest band on Earth!!!

  • They were going to hit it big. And everybody knew it. How could they not? They're too good.

  • he sounds a lot like he's moaning when he sings trhis version. definitely improved

  • Nothing beats a band playing a song for the first time when it's unknown, specialy this one here bliss, nothing can beat the feeling a band transmits by playing a song with not-so-good hardware (comparing to what they've become today) this bliss is the best version ever, and can beat any nu-version-crappy-over-produced version!! now, this was muse... =)

  • is it a crime to like radiohead, muse and green day? (cos i do)

  • no its not i do too! cant we all just get along? :-)

  • Love the band! And this song! =)

  • This is so cool to see what it originally sounded like, the band are so small and different then, its amazing to see how they've changed and grown.

    Love it.

  • good point 'biggyshackleton', but radiohead should never be downplayed. The stuff they have come out with has been experimental, but fantastic on various tracks.

  • Radiohead fans have nothing better to do than attack other bands being that "Thom and the boys" passed their prime long ago. You have to be a fucking loser to post hateful comments under the comment thread of a band you don't even like. Get a life retard.

  • Matt *drool*

Seeing them in 6 days. Muse are the best, ever.

  • Nice come back Zesephian - Muse RULE!

  • your a freakin idiot if you can't accept other peoples tastes.

  • You're a freakin idiot if you don't realize that Thom and the boys put this to shame.

  • The expression on Matt's face is really funny. He is so cute with the blue hair. I think he's just cute and lovely. I love him. And Muse.

  • oh thats how he plays the intro...may way is a lil harder than that...arhg...well i dnt have a synth :(

    good performance that was tho

  • hahaha.. i love matts face at 0:33.. he seems so proud of what his synth can do..

  • when people say "muse rock harder than radiohead" and "radiohead's new stuff isnt catchy!", you instantly know who is a young teenybopper and who isn't. Radiohead + Muse = Different bands, both different to each other in basically everyway

  • best post ever! i hate the snow patrol and coldplay comparisons too... AND the coldplay and radiohead ones...

its so wierd how people have to compare bands instead of taking them for who they are...

  • how long ago was this?? I saw em yesterday in madrid!!!

  • kik ass seeing them november

  • cool

  • Without idiots there wouldn't be comments.

  • i no radiohead are good but come ON!!! muse are the greatest, and wots sum1 who thinks radiohead are so much better then muse doin watchin this vid??

  • Surprisingly, you like think Radiohead are better but also like Muse. Amazingly, they're two different bands.

  • lol the expression on matts face

  • i fuckin love his hair there its great! lol :)

  • a guy compares Muse with NIN.... NIN is based on drum loops, easy pianos and basic guitar rifts. A stupid boy can play any song of NIN. With a synthesizer it´s very ease create songs. Yes, I know Muse use synthesizers too, but it´s diferent.

  • Why does muse suck so much guys???

  • Matt is a great front man :)

    >ignasiovaldes: 'without radiohead there would be no muse'. What the fuck are you talking about?

    Radiohead sucks Muse's dicks :]

  • He means that Radiohead influenced Muse. Hell even some early Muse songs sounded like Radiohead mini-mes. And dont have a go at me for saying that, cos Muse is my favourite band ever, so Im not trying to take a dig at them or anything, just saying what he means.

  • Radiohead paved the way for a band like Muse to be accepted in the mainstream, I can't hear a lot of Radiohead in Muse, but there's elements that are similar and it probably helped Muse to gain popularity early on.

  • why's he got blue hair??haha awesome

  • Chris just nods his head like he's been doing since joining the band, how boring

  • but its cool he managed to keep tht same thing going..i think anyway

  • tip: Nine Inch Nails is better live (even more energetic), but muse still rocks!

  • cuz this is the first time they play it, please look at Stockholm Syndrome in any video live :D it's cool

  • how do you solve a problem like Korea... ? lol

  • muse!! i love muse!! please come to Korea!!

  • It sounds different, in a good way

    it goes"walalaalala!"

  • this giana sisters sound is great

  • If there is a band that sounds better live is MUSE,

Listen to later versions of BLiss!!!

I think all there songs sound better live!!

    Muse Rule!

  • *comes*

  • fucking awesome!

  • what are you talking about?

They are probably , if not DEFINITELY THE BEST live band ever

  • not so good live r they?

  • I love Muse, but this performance is dire. His vocals are rubbish, that Atari synth sounds horrendous and the band as a whole just aren't that dynamic in this performance. If you want a good rendition of this song, just search for 'Bliss Reading 2006'.

  • yer, they are VERRY VERRY VERRY VERRY EXTREMELY FANTASTICALLY GOOD! better than recorded live, this is just when they where starting out, hence not as good, but i saw them live in 2004 and they where fucking amazing! and im seeing them live in january 3 times!

  • 1) this is like, not even the same as the song is these days, the structure/lyrics/music are all different here, hence why it is like.. the first time they played it live.

    2) this is a very young muse

    3) the amount of differernt equipment they have now compared to back then ^ is astonishing

    4) watch a more recent video of them live, maybe in earls court or something.

  • wrong ;)

  • my hero! Matt Bellamy and MUSE!yes thank you!

  • ummm... I'm pretty sure this is the first time they played this saying he says at the end, "Yeah that's the fist time we've played that song, ever."

  • and i was wondering does anyone actually have this video? or if not where do you reckon i could download it from? it's just i've looked everywhere and i can't find it!

  • Wow someone had a phat british accent :P

  • well duh! he is british!

  • So this is it? The origin of bliss? I love it though the lyrics are not equal to the final version... =)

  • Yup this is one of the first time EVER they ve played it, this version was like PIB hum "experimental" and matt looks like Elvis in Ice Blue

  • Le falta potencia!! El grabado en estudio está mejor! La gente no se mueve! Qué embole! falta pogooo!!

    Aguante Muse!

  • i loooove it <3

  • i personally love this video! i've seen it before somewhere else and tbh it's one of my fave Muse lives ever. possibly cos it's one of my most favourite songs ever, Matt's hair is amazing, Matt is amazing, i'm in love with his faces lmao and his cute laughing and erm i love the way he sings 'so easy to love' yes you are Matt. lol. love it <3

  • matt so funny!=))

    love this song:)

  • Yes....I do think that Muse is great...I am a fan of Muse too,but this video of his is so not up to the standard... I think he is much better in other video..

  • I'm certain it wasn't the first time they'd played Bliss and I can't be sure it was the first time they played it live either after doing some research. Still, it was a good performance.

  • ahaha! You can see it's the first time! hehe

However, I love that Matt's stare at the start!:D

  • Ha Chris' hair is soo funny and matts hair looks kl he shuld have it bk like that or blonde lol

  • muse is great :) im wondering if they are all E heads :P

  • Muse are awesome

  • why was it painful!?

  • wow that video was actually a bit painful and awkward to watch... especially in the chorus.

  • hahaha, matts hair is really funky

  • can anyone please tell me what kind of bass Chris plays? Im starting bass next week, and I wanted to get a fender, but there was one that looked very very similar to Chris's that I also liked, except it was sparkly blue.

  • I LOVE MUSSSEEEEEEEEEEEE! they rock B)

  • what has grammar got to do with anything?!

Radiohead and muse are both fecking amazing live!

    Thanks for the video...

  • To end...

Green Day = Powerchords in every song!

Panic and Fallout - Overrated boring stuff

Radiohead - A band with great talent, up until the 2000's when the majority of their songs become boring.

Muse - NOT RADIOHEAD RIPOFFS! Totally different genre, and one of the best british bands. If you dont like them, you cant deny that they are one of the best!

    Cool Video Anyway xD

  • it's all about muse. god bless ya!

  • I heart Buckley!

I'm glad the song improved ;)

  • GO MUSE!

any Jeff Buckley fans out there?

  • muse for life

  • true that toplessart

  • Eh, I love Green Day, but I love Muse more. Green Day is only behind Muse because the sound is much more unique, meanwhile, unfortunately, Green Day's sound, though masterful, isn't the first time I've heard it.

As for the Radiohead comparisons, all Radiohead fans enjoy how underground their band is, but envy the popularity of others. I always immediately ignore any comparisons because of this.
