  • Im not being cruel and i know what happened was awful there. But this is just a thought.

Can you really blame the French Foreign Legion and Belgium troops. It was their job to save EU residents (along with a few others). Thats a great example of how the EU should work together to save their own people.

    Just a thought

  • The UN was a disgrace during this genocide. But the blame is not the UN's alone. France and Belgium - the former colonial powers - just stood by, while a country teared itself apart. The US didn't want to intervene because of their losses in Somalia, but they were not the only country with the military capacity to carry out a military intervention. Especially Belgium, who was the creators of the segregation that lead to this madness, is in my opinion one of the biggest siners in this conflict.

  • @Freddyliciuos1

I think you should not put the blame on the Colonels. Both the Canadian and the Ghanaian and Pakistani Colonels along with their troops put up a massive fight against the leaders to stay in Rwanda. Ghana was actually punished because their UN troops refused to leave Rwanda. Im sure you meant no offence but i just want you to realise its not "The UN" its "The leaders of the UN"

  • If there was any real responsibility, it was to the UN. The UN is there to prevent that from happening. Instead it only absorbs corruption. The United States intervene in Bosnia, not the UN.

  • Funny how all of the white people left...now why do you think that is?

  • @edavismookie25

Shut up you racist. What a pathetic comment. Many WHITE people stayed behind with the UN, Red Cross and Religious groups. I suggest you take a minute to think before making pathetic comments

  • 2:38 they did the best thing possible, they filmed it, so in future when people could look back and ask "why", they've got an answer: No-one cared

  • whats the song called....? (its superbly sad .... :( waaaaa)

  • @MrconnorjGiedymin a million voices by wyclef jean

  • @mcrae90 OMG Ty soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Much ive been listing to it.... ive been crying none stop.... O_____o

  • Humanity. Comapssion. Charity. Where are those pretty words when people NEED to hear them?

  • so dog's life is more valuable than human' s.......

  • @3d3a3v3i3d More valuable than an Africans.

  • if i was one of those foreigners i would stay behind to help them even if the soldiers force me to.

  • why is there so much arguing on this page? you guys preach about peace, harmony, and justice, yet some of you guys are cursing each other. comments should be disabled for this video so people can just watch and think.

  • Favorite scene in the whole movie, when the missionaries run through the rain with the children...whatever the political aspects of this civil war/genocide, when people are affected, that's bad enough; when children are affected, that's going too far, no matter what country, what nation.

I don't pretend to know much about the politics of this besides what I've learned in class and from this movie, but regardless, it was a terrible situation. Bless the survivers.

  • Survival is pleasure you idiot.

  • why do people (americans) always bring up the tiring point that they are "letting" everyone else live and could kill us all... Well done go back to your caves and smash your rocks, the rest of the world want to move forwards...

  • This maks me want to stab myself, it's so painful.

  • Its funny to read all the comments - "Europe this, Europe that."

Are Africans really that helpless that we need to solve all of their problems?

Africa is not our concern so shut the fuck up hippies.

  • @Letinsh19 Africa became their concern when they decided to start colonizing and setting unnecessary ethnic barriers, thereby thoroughly fucking shit up. Trufax.

  • @Sociopathics When they left, they left Rwandans in charge so its only Rwandan fault for being unable to surpass those barriers.

  • @Letinsh19 Most of the problems that Africans face are due to Europeans. The Belgian incursion into Rwanda contributed to the Massacre. When the Belgians were there exploiting Rwandan resources in order to make Beglian richer they sided with the Tutsi minority to the chagrin of the Hutu majority who were left out. Divide and conquer has always been the Europeans best method white Americans did the same thing to Native American tribes then towards the end it was that much easier to turn on

  • @edavismookie25 Yes only Americans killed Native Americans. There was no French Indian War. And the Aztecs and Mayans are merely myths.

  • @Letinsh19 the remaining tribes. That being said after Belgium exploited about as much resources/wealth as it could they exited leaving the conspiring Tutsi's at the hand of the Hutu's. Now as you can imagine it became payback time....

  • @Letinsh19 Again, European being the cause not the symptom of the worlds problems.

  • It breaks my heart when he says: "These men, they, are Not here to help us"

  • People are brutal towards one another, how selfish.

  • Africans kill for power and wealth white people watch in amusement so that if there are none black folks left the will amass the rich endowed resources.

  • why the hell are people so crule?this is so wrong.

  • @zanpaktouKITO I dunno, you answer the question.I guess you've been blind for most of your life on what the real world was like, but maybe because there's no such thing as world peace or everyone getting along

  • the song when the children are coming makes me shiver

  • im going to volunteer in Rwanda in october this year

  • That's what the elite intend on doing. Going into countries, manipulating the people through the various types of rule and abandon them to kill each other as they separate as a people. If the elite could be seen by the masses of the world for the demons they truly are, this would and could not happen. Greed and ego are very powerful forces of darkness. It's sickening! The majority suffers so the elite can have! When will they wake up!

  • Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo's strife are the three things I'm most ashamed of as a Belgian. That we caused, provoked, and did nothing to stop genocide throughout most of our modern history is no less than disgusting.

  • @TheEarlOfWessex Don't be ashamed. I am German/Dutch and well we can't change history. Many evils have been done because of us Europeans (and descendants of). I just can't get over how our nations exploited these people and then at the time when their need is the greatest...we abandoned them...

  • How SHITTY of them to leave them for dead! This makes me nauseous thinking about what the done!

  • Fucking euro-cosuckers beasts....They dont deserve even a fucking single vote from these glorious people, keeping umbrellas above their [''empty white-skin heads''] = [Europeans]. As a photographer said...what a shame !

  • Before Colonization in Africa has been uset Tribal style of goverment , goverment of honor.. but western civilization give in this balance slavery and Weapons... bad mistake.. i Hope UN stops sending helping packages and they solves ther problems Alone...

  • @mirdaschramek you know, the un is the most UNsuccesfull orgnisation ever...it has never been able to keep the peace anywhere, but if these people in africa are left to solve their problems alone they're all gonig to be dead in a decade at most by diseases and civil wars...now,i'm not a racist but most of these people are not civilized at all...and it is our fault exclusively...all people of the civilized world should try to help these people, change their minds and help their countries progress

  • ...... of course, in a sad video about a genocide, the comment section is filled with fags arguing about which country is stronger.

NEITHER, because of fucking nuclear missiles, so shut up and reflect on the genocide

  • i wish i was there to help

  • I cannot believe the US, UK, France, Italy, Spain and Belgium let this happen. Simply cannot believe it. Yet we march right on into Iraq.

  • @mrAZcardinal Because their is oil there. That is a commodity that Americans and Europeans are willing to fight and die for. But if you mean fighting for people who can't fight for themselves well then you are living in a make believe world. These are Africans and the world does not care about Africa unless it affects them...sad but true..

  • the french are weak. so is all of Europe. you should all be shamed eurofags. this was your fault

  • @TheHighlanderGeneral SCREW YOU. This is why I hate being American. Is because of losers like you! The EU could take the US on in jiffy.

  • @mrAZcardinal go to hell you fucking euro sympathizer. hahaha 'jiffy' you fucking british wannabe. your a fucking joke. if i could find you i would kill you slowly. not even fucking kidding.

  • @TheHighlanderGeneral LOL im a eurofag and you guys are keeping us alive

USA are weak compared the Europe & Russia Combined, 1/4 russia 3/4 europe

    You guys will fall

russia wants to be in the EU

Russia still has tension with USA

    USA attacks Europe

    Russia Joins europe

    USA goes Bye Bye

YAY YAY USA is gone from the world, everyone chants

    Everyone lived happily ever after

  • @LewisTee08 Or this happens, USA attack europe. France immediatley surrenders because they don't have a military and because thats what they do, spain gets whiped out by the military superiority of US, Italy, sweden, poland belgium and the danes are a joke no one cares, germany is so small they offer very little resistance, britain is the only country that could give the us some problems but not too much. Russia joins, now its a fight between us and russia. America will win like always ;)

  • @TheHighlanderGeneral lol

USA attacks Europe, The most powerful nation is european history (france) goes ninja on you, germany the most powerful atm with the UK go banzai on you and russia finishes you off

  • @TheHighlanderGeneral Hey genius, heard of the second world war? I think Hitler had something similar planned. And unless you are more stupid than I thought, you know where that road leads

  • @dograbbitbeaver

Who cares, everyone blames the U.S for everything anyways so might as well Annex the world and have them complain then.

  • @TheHighlanderGeneral Wow. you sir, are pathetic. Get a life you gross american masochist. You make me puke.

  • This is one of the most moving scenes 1:40

  • well it starts this way..I mean think about it. The UN was created, when? Like roughly 50 years ago. We've had thousands of years of human evolution..and only recently a global institution.

It's important to keep the pressure up. Because what's good politically short-term, will bite them and the consciousness of a nation in the long-term.

  • What does the Cameraman/press officer say at 1.21-1.26 when the hotel worker offers him the umbrella?

  • @Dinimess2k7 I cant really make it out but he is basically refusing the umbrella because he is ashamed that their leaving them behind to die. It sucks that humans cant just help other humans in need selflessly its always about what they can do for us and Rwanda unfortunately didn't have anything of value.... Its horrible.

  • @Dinimess2k7 'Jesus christ I'm so ashamed', fitting really

  • @Dinimess2k7 hes embarrassed to be treated well when being forced to abandon all the rwandan's, and is ashamed and asks the worker to not worry about keeping him dry

  • I HATE this belief that "western countries" hold that their blood is worth more than everyone else! SAVE AMERICANS, but to hell with rwandans! this sickens me how we care about our own self but everyone else can burn. God will judge you.

  • @markee871 Americans need to look after themselves, expecially NOW. How many people lost their homes to foreclosure in 2008 and completely lost everything including their livelyhoods and yet still the hypocrite celebrities and policians had the funds and effort avilable to set up a telethon for aid to the victims of the Haiti earthquake. SICK!!! ALL Americans EVER do is stick up for everybody else, but they can't even stick up for themselves.

  • @LordMalice6d9 Not true. The us killed many in "collateral damage" for 10 years to get revenge on ONE man. Does that make sense? didn't think so.

  • when WW2 ended, we said "Never again shall history repeat itself" however, the Africans, who were just seen as "colonies" didn't get this, and the Tutsi and Hutu clans fought eachother.

People think that 1 million deaths is "nothing special" but when you relate it to Rwanda's population at the time, and the holocaust, it was a HUGE impact,

Why aren't we stopping the hell in Africa, and trying to fight in Afghanistan,

Go African, not to another massacre.

  • @f3wbs Even one death is significant. People, who foolishly believe that one million is nothing, do not understand the concept of human suffering. If it is so little and insignificant, I guess the life of those people should be considered forfeit, since they too are an "insignificant" number.

    Heh.

  • SEE AND THIS IS WHY AMERICANS ARE SELFISH

BECAUSE THEY LEAVE ALL THE FELLOW REWANDANS AND TAKE THERE OWN!

THATS LIFE AS PEOPLE I CRYED IN THIS SCENE!

  • @TheGeorgeToddShow It's actually not selfish.

Heh, if we leave Iraq, you realize we should take all the Iraqis with us. There will be another bloodbath between the Sunni's and Shite's which could turn genocide.

  • @shiron236 Sunni and Shitte Muslims have always been killing each other ever since the very death of Mohammad.

  • @shiron236 Sunni and Shitte Muslims have always been killing each other ever since the very death of Mohammad.

  • may goodness the most beautiful scene and i did cry! it was just so sad *sniff sniff* oh here i go again. and all just because we are africans! so unfair! =(

  • fking Belgians >.>

  • Shame on this world for leaving the innoccent left to die!

  • the song at 1:40 minutes! what is the name of it? its so impressing!

  • I am not one to cry at movies but ...whew this scene gets to me.

  • they say don't forget Darfur.... but what about Rwanda, Burma, Sri Lanka and East Timor?

  • @edwarduzumakielric Darfur, East Timor, and Sri Lanka have already long since ended.

  • this is The saddest part of this movie! i cant believe that people would actually have pleasure doing this to others...

  • great movie indeed. everyone should see this. everyone who claims they care about other people and what is going on in the world.

i checked on rottentomatoes DOTT com and found this movie has a very high rating of 90% from critics. the only negative things said about this film is that it does not show enough atrocities based on what happened in Rwanda. so what happened in real life to this poor nation is much worse than we can imagine.

  • this is a very good film and very hard hitting, we say we feel sad watching the video but just imagine the real people who were involved. over 1 million were killed during the fighting

  • this film is a hard hitting film were just watching via video just imagine how the actull people feel 1 million people were killed during this fight i feel ashamed, why couldnt we help them

  • This movie is great. The acting and music brang it to life. It's just really unfortunate that it actually happened. But im glad they made this. We shall never forget. Learn from our mistakes.

  • "Animals kill for survival...Humans kill for pleasure..."

  • i hate this movie. not because its bad or anything, but because this movie makes me think about all the things that i have that others are not priveleged to have. fuck war and hate.

  • Is it possible to get this version of million voices

  • What is that song please. Can anyone tell me?

I have to cry over what happened here often or

I feel like I start to die on my feet. I was a healthy

24 year old in America who could have shot

these killers -- this never goes away does it.

I'm 41 now..just as ashamed today as the day I

woke up and saw what happened here..those

poor babies..God why didn't you drop the

    hammer on these killers?

  • @ChristopherSaindon

    shut up bitch

  • @ahmed337799 Tough guy on the internet. I'd get

mad but you're too stupid to bother with. Hey

everyone -- get a load of ahmed calling ANYONE

    else a bitch..Ah HA! :-) Thanks dumbass..

  • this is 360p but looks like HD, LoL

  • There are people who laugh after watching this. There people who watch this. There are people who cry after watching this. There are people who watch this, then cry and then forget this. And there are other people. I am one of the people who watch this, who will cry and then forget this. I am too powerless, I have to rise, but if I should reach that place like Obama, some evil people will approach me, they will mention my family, they will mention my meaningless effort and nothing changes.

  • i don't think i've even been able to watch that scene without crying

  • i'm searching the song which is played in the bg.

can anybody tell me who it's called? and maybe send it to me? o:

  • coming under the french flag, the flag of a country that abandonned them....

  • @iosanaheireann That was Belgium

  • @iosanaheireann It wasnt France, it was Belgium!

  • @lolhazard it was all of the united nations that didn't want to help...
