  • that was the most disgusting surgery I've ever seen. I loved it.

  • Thanks for sharing, I was wondering, is there a time when you put security stitches before the extraction of the cataract?

Is there a way you prefer to put stitches to prevent the least astigmatism possible?

    Awesome video :)

Security stitches or 'Preplaced sutures' were used earlier - no longer used. However, may be used where severe vitreous upthrust is expected or an Expulsiive Hge has occured in the other eye.

Since 5 sutures are applied it is difficult to control astigmatism very accurately. Nevertheless, small measures like radial sutures, equally spaced, bites equidistant from incision & keeping the tension just right - go a long way.

Thanks for your interest and appreciation.
