Oh well, maybe next year.

I would like to think the AMVs that take more than a week to do are worth the effort, from my experience.

Well, the first I ever made was a Naruto video that only took a couple of days. It was pretty satisfying, but it's not an especially impressive first video.

It's called "See Ninja Run". I made it over five years ago now, and it should be the first video to appear if you search for the name.

Hehe, I decided to join a marathon of the F/SN anime that a couple of my friends were doing yesterday. I enjoyed what the show had to offer, now I want to check out the visual novels.

Good that after watching some of the series I was greeted with some good AMVs.

I have yet to watch this anime, as I'm expecting to be disappointed as someone who loved the graphic novel.

I know, it is spoiler-ific. Shouldn't be bad for someone who has experienced the visual novel.

As far as comparison between this and the original stories, yeah, the anime is not as great as it could had been.

I personally wish they have made 3 series that went through the various story lines, and held true to all the ecchi elements as well.

Oh well, I don't just use anime footage, if you didn't notice. There's plenty of stuff from the games/visual novel too.

The material from the visual novel just looks much superior imo.

I know it wouldn't be realistic to animate with the same style, but I can't help not to find this somehow... cheaper. Mostly due to the shading techniques, I think...

My only complain about F/SN was the lack of an Ilya route, which was apparently left unfinished.

No wonder I had the feeling something was missing after finishing Heaven's Feel.

I agree. I like the art style of the original visual novels. There were parts of the anime that felt rushed. I hope one day they are able to either remake or just redo the entire anime series.

All that considered, I like the voice work for all the characters for the most part. Saber, Rin and Illya are pretty spot on.

As far as an Illya route, I'm all for that since I do like her character.

In regards to the "DIE DIE DIE" part, I edited that in. Not everyone can read the kanji for "DIE". =p

I'll just have to say that this is the best AMV for capturing the spirit of the anime, and, more importantly, the visual novel. Admittedly, first time I saw this I had to cover the names of some of the servants since I hadn't read all the VN, but it was still very good, spoilers aside.

The choice of music was good as well - it suits the feel of F/SN, and I could tell that you spent a lot of time trying to choreograph it correctly. Totally deserving of victory at Sakura-Con :D

One other thing; When I first saw the video at AX, I Thought that the concept behind the video, about masters and servants, and each of them being some legendary mythical character, was just something made-up for the AMV.

The whole premise was so out of left field that I assumed the video was exaggurating , and the show's actual plot wouldn't be THAT cool.

I remember this from Anime Expo, 2007.

There were a bunch of Fate/Stay Night AMVs, but this was the only one that made any sense to me, having never seen it the anime, and it convinced me to check out the series.

I think AMVs are best suited as glorified advertisements. Hence, the videos purpose is best served when they help give you some idea of what kind of a show it is, creating a video that amounts to "THIS SHIT IS AWESOME, LOOK AT THIS SHIT" ANd I think this video nailed it. :D
