How long has James Myung been using a Chapman Stick? I've been fascinated by this instrument ever since I first saw one in 1976. Anyone have any info on James' Chapman Stickage?
Well, it's *John* Myung firstly. ;-) He first started "messing around" with a friend's while attending Berklee, but didn't purchase his until around 1995. There are only two Dream Theater songs (this and the recorded version of "Take Away My Pain" which he doesn't use the Stick live) and two songs on the first "Gordian Knot" album ("Srikara Tal" and "Redemption's Way") that he's recorded with one.
If you're looking for a Stick virtuoso, check out Emmett Chapman, Greg Howard, or Sean Malone.
What tour was this?? They didn't play this song on the 20th anni tour, which I went to, but the set is the same...but then again John's beard isn't as scruffy looking either..
how can u watermark a pirated copy of the video?! dork!

pertucci can play the entire "Flight of the Bumblebees" in 14 seconds...]

As much as I fucking love myung, it's a shame that he doesn't make good use of the chapman stick. It has so much more potential than this.

Agreed. I am personally hoping for a couple songs in the new album with the stick.
Knowing my luck though, it'll NEVER happen.

Budokan... it was the ToT tour, at a guess. Either way, the DVD was released after Train of Thought and before Octavarium.
