You obviously haven't heard much Floyd, check their earlier stuff from Piper or SoS. "Reaction in G" is a good example of early Pink Floyd.

When people say it sounds like Pink Floyd - I like the FL lyrics, sound and overall experience. I dont have the same feeling about PF. PF are much darker and depressing IMO. FL are more dreamy, bluesy, rock'n'rolly and jammin'.

They aren't Pink Floyd without each other! Roger Waters is the artistic madman and Gilmour the vocal and guitar master. I'm not the worlds BIGGEST fan(fan none the less) of "The Wall", for me, their pinnacle of actual music was "Darkside", "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals", which Waters could never have done on his own.
