he has raw talent. Would like to see James playing using more developed technique and lift the base off the ground to get some bass. He does have good hand speed though and some imagination.
less offensive at least! I will create something more structured and less chaotic. I dont sit and think of these sessions just kind of start and see what comes out!
Yeah that's what I do when I play my djembe or darabuka. It has to come natural, but you still have to redo it a few times until you hit the spot :P Sorry if I was offensive - I can't remember what must have gotten into me, and I honestly don't remember what I wrote, I'm ussually not offensive at all. Sry :P
No worries. I tend to get bored of playing 1 rhythm so drift into others 2 quickly sometimes. And filming on a 1st take u get the warts and all, but this can also capture the spontanious ideas. Try not 2 analyze with a serious ear/eye as it can sometimes spoil the fun of picking out out the more fun and interesting stuff. Maybe u can send me some of your own clips i am always keen 2 hear/chat with other musicians. Cheers. Tegzy.
Sure thing mate. I do transitions like that all the time - it's like my hands want to play a different beat all of a sudden :D When I upload a vid of me playing (probably with my friends) I'll make sure to show it to you. :)
you r correct my friend it is a kompang! But for ease of listing i just use the general headind of djembe/bongo. Nice 2 know someone is on the ball though!

I dont think it's a djembe. Look more like a kompang, Malay musical instrument.
