Why would you want the Ghostbusters to be a global organization! First they are buisnessmen primarily, they started hunting ghost so that they could make money, the saving the world thing is just somthing they do becuase only they have the means to do so, thus they will form a global organization in order to franchise they're buisness. Well, what if Oscar is where they added a new actor and a romantic love interest that doesn't fight, maybe even victimized, that's attractive like Sigourney Weaver were introduced? Dan Aykroyd told me and my brother when we went to the signing of his wine that Ghostbusters 3 will hopefully be shooting this coming up spring and they are shooting for a release around christmas 2012. He said he'll probably have to read the script word for word to bill murray before it goes ahead though (jokingly of course),

Harold Ramis 's comment on todays films is very accurate. If they go with his vision and a good script this could work out well. I seriously hope it doesn't tank, but I think the answer is with the audience and the hype. If its over hyped than it may not live to expectations of the audience. As long as its better than YEAR ONE, but that shouldn't be too hard to top :)

About having a female member, they could just stick with Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz (keeping with her characterization from the other movies) and put her in a situation where she has to do some Ghostbusting - the ol' cartoon show did that and I think it has potential to be done in a way that works.

the only reason that those series didnt work is because they didnt cast it right, look at the alien movies the hero in those movies is a woman, and it worked for 4 movies. So dont say that a woman will ruin a show, you have to cast it right, if the woman is an uptight not funny person in real life then it wont work on screen. And obviously it worked in GB1 and GB2 with Segornie being the supporting actress. So if they want to bring in a woman, i think harold and dan are going to cast it right.

We're huge Red Dwarf fans also, watched series 3 yesterday with my 12 y.o. son actually. We know the entire series & could not agree more about the demise of this quirky British show after the addition of Kochanski. If she was in it from the start as a character, no problem. I'm not sexist either before anyone says that. But I think the addition of a super babe on the GB team would deminish this trilogy, 'Keep it real' we say, it's just OUR opinion. Mike to let you know Ghostbusters 3 will be here in 2012. 2 weeks ago Ivan read the GB3 script and Ivan likes it a lot and wants to direct GB3 as well. Dan likes it to and everyone has a copy of the GB3 script. Harold is in L.A. having a meeting about GB3 and things are looking up! Sony will like the GB3 script after they get it from the GB's and Ivan Reitman. Oscar will be trained as a GB in GB3 and Dr. Venkman will take care of his Step-Son Oscar. I have to agree. Some groups are just better left alone. Ghostbusters being four guys, that works, maybe adding a female actress would work but she has to be just right, otherwise, not being sexist either, but leave it to the guys. i could deal with a female recruit as long as she isn't just there for hotness. yes ok the girl can be hot but i want her to be assertive and be able to grasp the concept of things. i don't want a dimwitted chick that's there for show. and i don't want the look of her sexed up like the halloween costume. no high heels, no short shorts. the suit can be zipped down to show a black sports bra as appose to the black t-shirts the guys are wearing. that's only for a lil bit of sex appeal.

well done mike, well done. just before your two update clips i saw the Harold Ramis interview. i agree with him and agree with you-- a Quality (and Fun :D) film/script is a Must. i hold a special place for the Ghostbuster Universe in my heart -- heck my dad and i still quote the films from time to time :) anyways, again well done and i look forward to seeing future updates from you and other sources

The script is not finished yet and until they see a script they ARE HAPPY WITH, it's all just talk at the moment. Which, to be honest, is good as I don't really like the ideas they seem to be coming up with at the moment regaurding a new team. Yes I know they are older now but with a little hollywood magic, they can do anything a 20 year old can do. Yep Ghostbusters 3 will be here in three years!!! 2012 GB3 will be here!!! Dan Aykroyd said that the GB3 script will be finished by Summer and Production will began in the Winter of 2009. He said earlier this year that everyone has signed on to make GB3. They will be patching the torch to a younger team to help them out. Sony does want to make GB3 and so do the Fans and they are which is Wonderful! Thanks Sony!!! It's coming in 2012 and I can't wait to see GB3 in 2012 at the Theaters!

I for one hope there is some way they can move the story forward, as Ghostbusters 2 was essentially a carbon copy of the first movie.

What I dont want is like you say, an action movie with CGI galore. Sure use it for proton streams or ghosts, but dont overdo it.

Ghostbusters 3 must be first and formost a black comedy with a witty script which is exactly what the first movie was.

tbh, all the characters had likeable characteristics which all varied but their chemistry on screen helped the movies be as good as they are. i guess we're all stuck with the game for now. (then again it was awesome and winston seemed a little more involved which always bugged me in the movies). does anyone know why he wasn't really involved as much as the others? or how he felt about being a slightly less important member of the team? damn its too long to wait!!!!

id like to see them battling zool again...like every so many years zool gets to have a chance at briging the world to an end...which egon and ray knew after they defeated zool in the 1st movie but kept it quite to avoid panic.....but they been monitoring zool and stuff so they get peter and winstone back who ave been doing other things like for example peter could be living quietly with dana after coming in to some money from childrens books he's written or what not

Yes, the 3rd GB movie is happening!....finally!...and Terminator 2 not only was the best use of CGI, it pretty much broke all major technical barriers and made it the preferred choice of visual effects. Thanks for the comment!
