@gruntpwnsnubz The cleaning rod should be pushed down with the top inside the little notch cut out for the cleaning rod. You may have to push down on the top of the rod a little bit to get it to slide in. If you don't put the cleaning rod in correctly it will stick out just enough and you won't be able to seat the bayonet, and not only that, but in a firefight you don't want your cleaning rod falling out. On my AK I took the cleaning rod out and put it in my case.Every little bit weight helps

Don't worry about the slant cut muzzle brake, some of them come with it and some of them don't. You can add one if you like though...or even an ak-74 style muzzle brake

@TheTheGenius just work the action again. It's the same thing as firing the weapon minus the firing pin striking the primer so the extraction process should take the round out of the chamber safely.
Push the recoil spring button in and then put the dust cover back on. Then pull the charging handle back while holding down the dust cover and it will pop into place itself. I'll make a vid explaining if you can't get it to work.
@TSCO420 Tbh. The L85 can be just as easy aswell. Depending on how much you know it. I have experience with stripping it. So before anyone starts saying " Oh you don't know shit, you've never dealt with it before. " Yes i have. But yeah, in my opinion it's just as easy.

Yes, if you look closely at the bottom handguard u will notice a little bar/lever that runs parallel to the barrel. Grab some pliers and lift the lever, this will allow you to remove the bottom guard.
Very good video, I've been pondering buying one of these but I had heard that they come covered in storage grease, did yours? and if so how do you go about giving it a good cleaning to ensure proper operation?
You know I can't seem to get the receiver cover to snap into place like you. I just got this WASR and put Tapco hand guards and an Eotech on it. Guess I will have to mess with it tomorrow when the wife is away at work.

It can be somewhat difficult. Don't be overly gentle when putting the dust cover back in place. I put the side closer to the barrel in first then force the back down, where it can pop over the recoil spring.
I hear the Romanian model AK is better than the Russian one itself. Can someone explain that? There are like a billion variants of it from so many countries it's hard to count haha.

yes you can. you take the little screw driver tool in the kit and on the right side in between the barrel and handgaurd is a little lever. flip it up (after removing the cleaning rod) and it will come right off.
In the US they're around $350 to $400. But they're very, very cheap. Especially in places like Somalia they're like maybe $20. But I assume you don't live there lol.
I was gong to buy a Wasr-10, but I couldn't feature spending 500+ bucks on a romanian clone of the AKM. When just 10 months ago you could get them for under 400. Plus their condition and quality varies.
So I decided to buy a Russian SKS-45 instead. I am happy with it since I can modify it to an A.R. config and since it has some collector's value. But the biggest thing was that it was cheaper then the WASR.

Yeah, it's quite simple. Pop off the dust cover, and you should see two screws. Remove them, then off comes the stock.

@TSCO420 Tbh. The L85 can be just as easy aswell. Depending on how much you know it. I have experience with stripping it. So before anyone starts saying " Oh you don't know shit, you've never dealt with it before. " Yes i have. But yeah, in my opinion it's just as easy.

Yes, if you look closely at the bottom handguard u will notice a little bar/lever that runs parallel to the barrel. Grab some pliers and lift the lever, this will allow you to remove the bottom guard.

You know I can't seem to get the receiver cover to snap into place like you. I just got this WASR and put Tapco hand guards and an Eotech on it. Guess I will have to mess with it tomorrow when the wife is away at work.

Thanks for the vid. I like your basic instructions cause they were easy to follow unlike some of the videos and smart asses you see on youtube. The only suggestion I would make would be maybe some better top-down lighting so that people can see inside the reciever better, but great video.

It can be somewhat difficult. Don't be overly gentle when putting the dust cover back in place. I put the side closer to the barrel in first then force the back down, where it can pop over the recoil spring.

yes you can. you take the little screw driver tool in the kit and on the right side in between the barrel and handgaurd is a little lever. flip it up (after removing the cleaning rod) and it will come right off.

I was gong to buy a Wasr-10, but I couldn't feature spending 500+ bucks on a romanian clone of the AKM. When just 10 months ago you could get them for under 400. Plus their condition and quality varies.
So I decided to buy a Russian SKS-45 instead. I am happy with it since I can modify it to an A.R. config and since it has some collector's value. But the biggest thing was that it was cheaper then the WASR.
