Man dig that crazy Dan Electro. Link and his off the wall budget guitars and his wild style just blows my hair back about as much as anything other than sex. I love his use of 60s Yamahas, Supro Dualtone guitar and I strongly suspect the amp too with the fuzz he got in his recordings, both live and studio. I have seen him with Gibsons and Fenders, but the cheapies like this and his "Resoglass" Supro, and mid 60s Yammie are just as cool as can be.
I have 2 old original guitarlins and a longhorn bass. Used to have an old longhorn 6 string bass/baritone too but sold it like a dummy. Coolest looking guitars ever, especially when Link was playing one (his first album is the first time I saw one.)
Saw Link play the Whiskey around 1980. Sunglasses and black leather jacket. The epitome of cool and sounded fantastic! One of my heros.
@bluesol59 Link is so great!! I'm so glad I got to see him live. Link was an amazing performer right up to the end of his life. The A-bones would have made a fantastic backing / touring band for Link. Thanks so much for puttin' this up!
To me, Link was THE GREATEST rock and roll guitarist ever. He got more tone out of that 31 fret Danelectro Guitarlin than anyone before or since. Only Dexter Romweber (Flat Duo Jets) comes close!
DANELECTRO They used to make Lightning jet fighters too. They released the guitar again a few years ago. I used to have a bass copy by Hondo (played well)
Does anyone know where I can find Bobby Howard, aka. "Morticai Jones" etc.? His son is looking for him and would love to meet him if he's still rockin'....thanks!!!
Genius at work!! This is real funny: Link is clearly 'miming' without a backing band or even a guitar cord, and -on purpose?- he even drops his guitar pick, picks it up, goes on 'playing'. I knew Link, it'd be something he would love to do - just to show it wasn't a live recording! Great guy, sadly missed!
You can get the audio-mp3 of this song at grabtubesnow doht cohm.

A great song that Clayton McMichen's Georgia Wildcats recorded back in the 30's.

It is always awesome to watch footage from way back, but when Link Wray is the star...it gets better.

He's playing a Danelectro "longhorn" model -- I believe it's called a Guitarlin.

Link rules... he is missed very much by his friends & true family. What an incredible loss.

THose of you spouting off about his wife, WTF? Do you think that honors him? She was his choice. If you can't say anything nice, shut the fuck up.
