If there was a nuclear war it would not be the end of the earth. Yes most humans will die but if hide deep in a sewer or subway even a old fallout shelter we could survive. I live in Canada so there would be no fallout shelter for me only sewers and subways. Even in the worst estimates a full scale nuclear war would not extinct humanity. Nuclear weapons are powerful, but they would leave quite a bit of territory untouced by their direct effects. Fallout will kill millions if not billions but it only lasts for a few weeks. Humanity would lose most of it's population and be set back at least 200 years development wise but it would not be the end of the our race. As for "nuclear winter" it is hardly as major as people like to make it out to be.
@KrazyKommieKiller The radioactive debris left from a large scale nuclear conflict would last at least 75-150 years. And you also have to do with the breakdown of society. Raiders, looters, criminals etc. A nuclear conflict would have apocalyptic effects on human civilization.

The US gave the reasons why, but people think there is an ulterior motive. Many nations developed Chemical and Biological weapons, the nation who made the most was Russia not America. And we were *a* player behind the Cold War, the other one was Russia. Russia just as much to blame for its own collapse as America is.

Not a religious book as much as a science book. It is impossible to explain all the new ideas in the book, and since the author made sure anyone could read it, by asking only 99 cents to read it. It is the best book on science and religion I ever read.

Even in the worst estimates a full scale nuclear war would not extinct humanity. Nuclear weapons are powerful, but they would leave quite a bit of territory untouced by their direct effects. Fallout will kill millions if not billions but it only lasts for a few weeks. Humanity would lose most of it's population and be set back at least 200 years development wise but it would not be the end of the our race. As for "nuclear winter" it is hardly as major as people like to make it out to be.
