  • Clemson was still the Class of the ACC in 1986

  • Clemson along with Maryland were still the Class of the ACC in 1986

  • WOW!!! A commentater who actually pronounced Clemson right! Please commentaters its CLEMPSON!!!

  • Clemson was still a dominant player in ACC Football in 1986

  • I don't which is odder -- seeing an ACC game on CBS -- or Musberger back during his halcyon days at the eye network

  • Clemson won that game 38-10 and went on to be ACC Champions.

  • this was november 8th 1986, I found out yesterday

  • College football was more fun back then. Now it's too corporate and money-driven.

  • I am quite amazed how similar the atmosphere feels to this video, 22 years later! Makes me damn proud to be a Tiger.

  • hell yeah

  • wow. death valley looked so much different then, but it was still loud and just as awesome!

  • Clemson football in the 1980s kicked ass!!!!!!!!

  • does brent musburger ever age? lol

  • He doesn't seem to age at all.

  • who brent musberger

  • Michael Dean Perry is the only football player I can think of who had a hamburger named in his honor. When he was with the Browns, the McDonald's restaurants in Cleveland offered the MDP, which was like a Big Mac, but instead had three meat patties and bacon.

  • Clemson is the best place in the world, and always will be! GO TIGERS!!!!!

  • mark may

    da fridge da bears

  • Nervouswreck75, a few years ago one play did trip and broke his ankle..

  • Just curious: Has any Clemson player ever tripped and fell while running down the hill? LOL

  • Hush your mouth! Don't even think that! That ain't funny.

  • Gene Pate before the UVA game in 2003. Broke his leg.

  • This makes me love Clemson more! GO TIGERS!!!

  • Those were the good old days.

  • Tigerray, I may be a die-hard Maryland fan, but I have to admit it, Death Valley has one of the best atmospheres and traditions in College Football and one of the toughest places to play if you're on the road. Do you have any footage of the great Clemson/Maryland games from the late 70's and early 80's when both teams were good and won a combined 8 ACC Championships in the 1980's spanning from 1981 through 1988.

  • I used to have the 1983 game (a long time ago). I recently heard the only known copy of the 1978 game (which most including me have never seen) was ruined early on when Clemson showed the game to potential recruits too much and wore the tape out.

  • Like everyone else, I say thank goodness CBS changed their theme. Also, it was much better when Musburger was ousted in favor of Nantz. I hope Clemson wins the national title, as until there's a playoff (it may be shortly,) it's best if lower profile teams from BCS conferences such as Clemson win the title rather than Ohio State, Michigan and all that other vermin.

  • Yeah, I kinda liked the theme they used here, but their current theme is the best.

  • CHECK OUT THE ONE from 1987, it got the current song!!!

  • This theme and the current theme actually debuted during Super Bowls that CBS broadcasted. This one during Super Bowl XVIII in 1984 and the current one debuted for Super Bowl XXI in 1987.

  • Go Clemson!

  • I forgot about this theme song from cbs. Good thing they changed it to what it is now, even though that same theme is what ? 20 years old ? I'm older than that current theme song !!

  • this makes me hate clemson more

  • I have never seen this one before.
