As far as Metallica and Megadeth go, who do you guys think is better?
there's no way you can compare. It's like comparing Black Sabbath and Ozzy. I equally like them both. Why choose, that's what everybody wants, fuck them and their decisions. Listen to all the material from both and enjoy. Don't decide which is better, there both great. You either like them or you don't.
I totally agree. It's like some people i see saying Alice in Chains is dead because Layne is dead. They just released a new single for their upcoming album due out sept 09 and it sounds great.

Of course they are both great bands, I dont think anyone here disputes that, just that the most recent Megadeth album (and this is just personal taste and opinion, not a dig against Metallica in general) has a bit more of the old spirit and energy than the new Metallica album.
You know, I was really happy with Death Magnetic when I first heard it. I thought, "Well, it's no Kill Em All but it's certainly better than St. Anger." But... then I listened to United Abominations and realized that if one man can keep his sound true then 4 men should be able to do the same, and it's an insult to the fans that Death Magnetic is the best Metallica can come up with.
Metallica missed the point once again with this album, fans werent just pissed that they werent fast enough, or they didnt have enough solos,for me at least its that the songs arent good enough, and they need to stop thinking about what kind of album they should be making or where they fit into the current scene. The new album is a bunch of half decent riffs thrown together in some very mediocre songs, and Hetfields vocal lines and lyrics are terrible, his vocals are like a self parody nowadays

its everyones opinion, but in my case, i like both, in different ways,

Thrash/speed Metal owns over Wacken, thats why many of those bands there. COB is boring as hell and i can't even stand the guitar work and vocals. the guitaring is so fake and copied by many other artists.
