  • please... get rid of that goatee

  • @3USRNAM3 Haha, it's not your chin though, is it?

  • I hate when people comment on videos like this thinking that the person playing is just some scrub putting a video on youtube...

  • I love it where he goes "a bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bows" around 1:00.

  • This makes me want a Moog Lil Phatty.

  • good video dude.....but u gota shave that cotton on your chin

  • I can't wait to get a moog synth!!!

  • fingers of GOD

  • Jam at 3:44 for those who don't want to search.

  • little funky monk

  • One of the worlds best keyboardists!!!

  • hi guys ! what you can tell me about this moog ? anyone that have this ?

  • @dJDannyVice It´s fun as hell to play, I got one two days ago and just can´t get enough. But I have to admit, It´s not for everyone. If you´re into eletronica, you should get a more flexible/poly synth. If you like to make cartoony/funky/spacy sounds like me, you´ll have a blast!

  • PLAY THAT FUNKY SYNTH

  • He plays synth for Liquid Tension Experiements

  • He's a dubstep fan, @ 0:59 >.<

  • So good to see someone that actually plays keyboard so well demo this machine. Most demos are one of the company's salesmen that just holds a key and spins some knobs for 10 minutes.

  • This dude's voice sounds exactly Neil Peart.

  • I like the way he looks a little bit confused when the backing track ends and he's suddenly sucked back to reality

  • Press "2" repeatedly.

  • @pocketocrisps I came.

  • oh yeah!!!!

  • Great demo!! but... 7 people are deft...

  • mad skills, why didnt he use better his left hand instead, so he could change the filter setting easily with the right hand XD..

  • @patyxxx The way he uses the pitch wheel he would just have to swap hands like crazy when pitchbending/tweaking filter and so forth. Plus.. Most people shred with their right hand :)

  • This guy makes thE most informative Moog videos. Thanks man!

  • BADASS!!

  • So sick

  • Mad skills dude, very impressive and great fun to watch!

  • fucking awesome, and nice keyboard skills!

    i really need that one!

  • 1:00 is freaking funny! :)

  • Jizz in my pants....

  • Great to see someone actually playing one instead of cat-walking up and down the keyboard with their fingers like a lot of these youtube demonstrations.

  • @infraction2008 yeah or just arpeggiating and moving the resonance knob. some demo!

  • 3:55 even the trees are dancing

  • Super tu joue trés bien, encore bravo de la part de Didier de la Belgique.

  • bow bow bow bow bow bow bow

  • can you use this for psychedelic effects

  • dude that first bass groove

  • a porn rock band from the land of plenty. Porn rock bands, with no porn just pine trees.

  • pro shit man

  • Thanks, I've been trying to understand those bass techniques for years.

  • He looks a bit like Neal Stephenson. They should get together and write some songs.

  • should i buy the korg r3 or the moog lil phatty?

  • This man...He's good.

  • Does Moog make anything for guitars to play that famous moog bass sound instead of using a moog keyboard?

  • That was killer!

  • Oh yeah....

  • What are they the monitors behind Jordan ??? Tannoy Reveal 5???

  • JR kills ,Moog sounds rules!!!!

  • SOUNDS LIKE TOEJAM AND EARL AT THE END.

  • BEOW BEOW BEOW BEOW BEOW BEOW BEOW BEOW BEWO.

  • Nice demo, I'm looking for some songs like Jordan plays at the end, moog bass and hammond b3, anyone knows any? Would be awesome!

    thanks

  • Moog are the Lexus of synthsisers; they are made with the finest ingredients and will mostly likely outlast their human owners in lifespan - of course they're expensive. You need to be absolutely serious and committed before purchasing something like this.

Start with a Casio SK-1, once you write a whole album on that, get a Little Phatty.

  • How cool is this guy?Brilliant keyboard/synth player.

  • can do all this on my pc for a fraction of the cost. why would anyone waste their money on this antique

  • what is up on your moog with lots of cable

    what is using for?

  • Nice Funky Basslines , back to the old days.

  • this guy rocks!

  • I love playing with this thing at Guitar Center, and I'm new to the synth stuff too, but I don't get why it's so much money. I'm leaning towards the Korg R3 cuz it has a vocoder and it has recordability on it that the Phatty doesn't have and it's only 600 rather than 1300, but this thing has such good sound though. I'm torn between.

  • Nice playing you MOOGER FOOGER!!

  • check this vsti of the little fattie

    Xhun Audio little one

    its great

  • Moog is amazing nuff said

  • Haha, tellign Jordan Rudess to put his music on itunes... bit of an understatement.

  • Jordan Rudess (the legendary keyboardist in the video) actually gives online lessons at j r o c . us (without spaces). It stands for "Jordan Rudess Online Conservatory" and is a collection of video lessons, I think. I haven't signed up yet but am considering it.

  • dream theater rules!

  • The Jordan Rudess says: "bwao bwao bwao bwao bwao bwao bwao bwao bwao"

  • Jordan seems to have a good time presenting Moog gear, and acts like a good salesman too ! Interesting videos series.

  • He's a funky cat haha. Not only a prog and classical virtuoso.

  • i just got back from messing around with one of these at guitar center... freakin wish i had an extra $1300 around lol - lot of fun

  • it'd be super awesome if there was an effects send and return for running effects before they hit the filter and the envelopes

  • Moog makes the best stuff ever.

  • That thing is so nasty! Great demo bro, thanks!

  • lol at 59-1:01

  • this is like a gold mine of bluesy synth licks!

  • at 1:23 you talk about using the SAME KNOB to alter the time AWAY from the DECAY and To the ATTACK.

I notice this with a good percentage of the instruments that have been built in the last 20 years or so.

To save space on the front panel, each control performs multiple functions BUT they can only perform ONE AT A TIME.

This may be great for studio work, but for a live performance it somewhat limits the ability that you have to alter the sound WHILE you are performing.

  • What I wouldn't give to be able to borrow one of these things from somewhere and play with it for a couple weeks. It's too bad they're a wee bit out of the price range of someone on SSI.

  • can i play the LP without a pc?

  • That definitely put a smile on my face! :D

    DA MASTER!

  • that Kanye West was gonna try and interrupt this video but I tripped him

  • i absolutley LOVE that envelope in the moogs

someday i HAVE to get one.

  • tasty

  • MOOG rules!! Always did, always will!!

  • awsome, love the sounds, your very good :)

  • Dig Jordan's mimicking of the bass sound at 1:00. Seems like a really cool guy.

  • is he in a band called Dreamtheater? this is sum funky shiz.

  • Coo'oo'oo'ol! I want one! Guess I better start saving...

  • Want Moog Little Phatty...Can't afford Moog Little Phatty...Of course first I gotta find out as much as I can about the supposed software that makes it possible for a totally blind individual to interface with it. Think I better call Moog Music tomorrow and ask them. Then I'll know if it's worth saving up for. Too bad none of the stores in the small town where I live keeps an LP around for demoing purposes...

  • 5 Stars I Love It Keep It Coming...Best Demo Available In YouTube.

  • Крутой чувак!

  • Can you create a sub bass sound with the Phatty?

  • kwaw kwaw kwaw kwaw kwaw kwaw kwaw kwaw kwaw!

    great XD

    i love moog and jr

  • Anyone know what kind of table he's got his stuff on?

  • I hope that in 20 years I too can be sitting in a room manipulating sound and light from a super holographic keyboard controller. This would include air depth and field manipulation as well as neuron density and cerebral spatial control! Then I would be the Keyboard Wizard

  • Awesome! 3:38 onwards is the best bit.

  • So basically...you have near endless possiblities!

  • awesome

  • 1:00 made my day

  • "Baw baw baw baw baw"... AHAHAHA

  • 5 stars for funk :)

  • dam...thats deep and heavey bass, brilliant

  • I love it. I just wish this machine had a dedicated knob for filter functions: cutoff, res, attack, depth

This is pretty standard on synths these days, even cheesy ones that don't have nearly the oscillators that Moog has. I assume this was a cost cutting omission? It worries me a little. Obviously, he's doing fine with it though ; )

  • Beautiful playing. That's such a badass sound.

  • i haz one they are so awesome keep these videos coming sooooo helpful

  • Now this is da shit. !!!!

This is what i'm talking about. !!!

MOOG = BASS and BASS and BASS

    End of the story.

  • baw, baw, baw, baw, baw, baw, baw, baw, baw...

  • Baar, baar, baar, ba, baar, baar, baar....

  • bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom baa...

  • I love the sound fx he makes with his voice! It has consumed him.

  • Very cool and interesting!

  • jordan is awesome... i love when he doubles john's guitar solos onstage.. it gives a 2 part harmony a totally different vibe.

  • 1:00

Jordan Rudess sound effects are always the best xD

  • funky!!!!

  • Nice to see someone has still got da Funk!!!!

    Keep posting...

  • Jordan Rudess is my keyobard/synth God. But he pronounces "Moog" like "Moge". Which is kinda odd.

  • could you please tell us what are the settings on the LP for that specific Bass sound. it is incredibly phat!

    Thank you.

  • I love moog!!!

  • Shit! Pure shit! But I still want a Little Phatty so.... nicely done I guess.

  • Superb! Both instrument and player. Dream Theater rocks.

  • badd fuckin ass!

  • very nice.

  • i want one.

i wish they have these settings on the Zen Riffer.

  • wow!

  • bwah bah bah bwah bwahh bah

  • filter envelope sounds slow compared to a Minimoog..

  • woah bwah bah bah bwah bwahh

  • bau bau bau bau bau bau bau

  • MCSin2007: Jordan is a pro musician in the prog metal band Dream Theater as well as many other projects including time with the Dixie Dregs and many other colaborations. Check out him on An Evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess cd...its a nice recorded concert of piano and guitar or and DT record.

  • Big Ups!!!

  • Great video, Jordan :D

  • and thats why hes the synth God.

  • is this vintage equipment, or just made to look vintage? either way its pretty awesome!

  • BEST BASS EVER

  • Can you get a good Taurus bass sound out of the LP?

  • sick.....

  • Nice. Sell it some over itunes. I will buy it !

  • I agree, your stuffs are awesome i'd buy some too if it was available on iTunes.

  • look up dream theater on itunes

  • Very nice demo, from someone who obviously loves their subtractive synthesis!

  • I need one of those. Immediately lol

  • god.

ive just heard of your videos, and im new to this synthesiser stuff, but this is just sick.

    please release some music!

  • he appears on something 40 albums?

  • haha....

  • haha HOLY SHIT!

    what albums?!

    i want!

  • he's from dream theater, so just look them up

  • blow it out your ass!

  • watch some dream theater videos, hes the synth player ;)

  • His main band is Dream Theater. Some of the sickest musicians ever put together, but I don't listen to it very often because the singer is sooooo 80's cheese. They did instrumental stuff in a band called Liquid Tension though, much better without Michael Bolton lyrics.

  • he's in the band dream theater

  • @MCSin2007 try searching Dream Theater :P

  • @MCSin2007 lol

  • I have a Moog little phatty stage, a Roland SH-201, and a Korg i4S workstation. I am in a band called Break the Silence Teaser. (on youtube) Love Dream theater and Moog Music inc.

  • Those envelopes, yum...

Only Moog en sequential have those incredible flexible and smooth sounding envelopes.

The Phatty is now really cheap here in Sydney.

  • i gotta go to Sydney then

  • yes, master!

  • Rudess is a great teacher. Wish i could take some lessons from him.

  • you can if you go here:

    h t t p : / / w w w . j r o c . u s (obviously taking out the spaces)

  • Thats talking....Respect Rudess!!!

  • now THAT'S a bass...finally! get on it! :) ps let's hear some more bass work.
