This is wrong :( and really saddens me, to see my fellow country men act like bunch of primative people!. Phillipines is soo messed up because of religion.
again, IN MOST CASES, the cases have been dealt with appropriately. But again, Bishops and Priests are human and make mistakes. This IS NOT Church teaching and was only the action of the local Bishop, not the Church as an establishment or the Supreme Pontiff.
Interviews conducted with the victims and families revealed that, often times, Bishops moved the Priests under direction from psychologists as part of their treatment and that many times the families did not desire to press charges. It should be noted though that Bishops and Priests are human and do make mistakes.
Heb.7:27 Who needeth NOT daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did ONCE, when he offered up himself.
Please cite either Canon Law or the Catechism for the teaching regarding child rape. And if by self-flagellation you mean mortification, we only imitate the tax collector of Luke 18.But again, please cite Catholic teaching regarding the matter.Because I'm sure that you aren't just making all this up because you hate Catholics....
You know flagulation goes on. The pope condones child-rape by the simple fact he HID it for 40 years and did not bring the priests involved to the police! What did he do instead? MOVE THEM TO ANTHER CHURCH where they were unknown so they could rape children again. Come on, my friend, this is not my opinion, this is FACT and you know it. "anti catholic"? Me? I love you. I love catholics, it is the church and its false teachings i hate and will continue to not be silent on.
consider this: Between 1951 and 1991,between 1.7 and 2.6 percent of Priests in the US were accused of Sexual Abuse. In that same time, 4.0 percent of the general population of US citizens were accused. So instead of condemning us, you should probably be thanking us. Because apparently we are a lot better at preventing that than anyone else...
@dblazek08. i suppose you also want me to "thank" you for the catholic church COVERING UP the child rape for 40 years? These 1.7-2.6 per cent are NOTHING compared to the amount of records being hidden and suppresed, as you know.
If they are hidden and suppressed and hidden, how do you know about them? Contradiction? I think so. Not to mention your claim that the 1.7-2.6 percent is nothing in comparison to those hidden not only means you know about the hidden files but also have some idea of how many there are. So humor me with a source for this information.
The Roman Catholic church in Dublin covered up decades of child abuse committed by priests because bishops wanted to protect the church's reputation at the expense of victims, an expert commission reported today after a three-year inquiry into previously secret church records. The government said the investigation "shows clearly that a systemic, calculated perversion of power and trust was visited on helpless and innocent children in the archdiocese".
I have a copy of a document that shows that the chancellor of the Davenport IA diocese swears to keep the facts of Rev. James Janssen's case secret. A sexual correspondence between Janssen and a boy had recently been discovered by the boy's mother and reported to Janssen's bishop, Ralph Hayes.
The state court has ruled that more than 12,000 pages of documents from more than 20 lawsuits against priests should be released. Those documents have been sealed from public view since the diocese settled the cases in 2001.

As long as the participants are willing, then there is no issue. The problem with most Muslim videos is that only some of the participants are willing, and usually the unwilling ones end the video with theirs heads removed.
oh my goodness.....................surely Jesus wouldn't have wanted people to be nailed to crosses? Perhaps he'd be more concerned about loving your neighbour.
"Mortification", i.e. physical acts of devotion, are always tricky ethically. One's always weighing pride against devotion. The point, however, is that deliberate acts of devotion make one more able to act on the will of God. These young men will be stronger, better able to love and sympathize with their neighbor as a result of this trial. They know first hand what it is to be helpless, even though their strong guys in the prime of life. They know first hand what it is to rely on others to help.
It's like they're mocking the severity of Christ's suffering...

It's important to note that the Church DOES NOT approve of this. So relating this to Catholicism is ridiculous....
