  • lol he wasted 3 days just to get that right

  • the way the bartender looks at him....makes me think that he knows what he is doing...like he is god or something... 1:54

  • awww bill sounds soo cutee when he speaks french...ooo getting off topic cant u just upload the whole movie.. i wanna watch

  • I think he should of just banged her everyday and woke up each day without consequence. He could of spiked her drink and made videos of them doin it 7 days a week wtihout it ever happening.Sounds pretty bad,but if it didn't really happen in her mind or anyone elses, then it's fine.Isn't it?

  • @hardcorecourier Only to you.

  • The Bartender knows!

  • You speak French? (oui....)

  • The greatest comedy of the past 30 years.

  • IMHO the bartender is a godlike being who's chosen Phil as his personal project and is therefore responsible for making the days repeat. :)

  • @RLviddy I honestly think you're on to something. He's the only one in the movie who seems to react directly and knowingly when Phil does something twice...hmmm......

  • @kevinsmellls Maybe he's stuck in the Groundhog Day time warp too?

  • Uh... NO! The best scene is "don't drive angry!"

  • after about the 2nd day with her...i would be like fuck you expectations are just not realistic...you aint all that LATER!..lol

  • hab den film vor jahren mal im fernsehen gesehen. einfach nur kult der streifen !

  • wow if i lived the same day over and over that means i wouldn't ever have a hangover!

  • Five people weren't born in the 1980's.

  • "Oui" - the funniest line in the whole film. Love it. thanks for posting.

  • Two ugly but real actors

  • hhhhhh

  • that shows just how long he's been there if he had time to learn french fluently

  • I love how staged his interactions are, especially when they're building the snowman and the kids start throwing snowballs, and Phil's like "oh! No! Look at those kids! They're throwing snowballs at us!" and just goes through the motions to get to the next part. It must be how an actor feels sometimes, practicing the same scene over and over again.

  • @greedymuppet Wow

  • "what a waste of time!" classic

  • The moral of the video here is:

Don't be a wussy guy by trying to change yourself for a girl's standards.

    Screw that!

Being unique is what makes everyone interesting.

  • @Tomahawk52 the moral is in the real world, where you don't relive a single day over and over, you can't change yourself for a girl's standards.

  • @Tomahawk52

You didn't get the movie. Murray was an asshole, when he tries to get with this chick he has to change, he learns many things from her, and in the end he changes for the better,

  • @figocooldude Yes I DID get the movie. I was referring to this video alone, not the movie, on how trying to impress a girl or have too much shit in common doesn't help, nor will it matter to the girl. GO WITH THE FLOW.

But about your point, yeah, agreed. Don't be a jerkoff.

  • @Tomahawk52 I completly agree although he is doing everything he can to get her into bed no matter what it takes LOL

  • I have not seen this movie in years I forgot so much, at the final take of that scene when he pulled out the french I lost it I couldn't stop laughing for about 2 minutes

  • Andie MacDowell is one of those (few) women who actually look better in early 90's/80's conservative attire, as opposed to the more modern and overtly sexual stylings of today.

Many women (think Elaine from Seinfeld) look better now, even being 10+ years older, because of various improvements in science/beauty and sexier dress. But I much prefer Andie-- or Rita in this movie-- with the old school hairstyle and conservative dress.

Random, I know. But she looks damn cute here!!

  • I agree completely.

Brooke Shields' look also peaked early but didn't age very well.

  • amen!!!!

  • you speak french?! wi.

  • It's not "wi" it's "oui".

If you're just going to post quotes from the video, you should probably know what it is you're quoting beforehand.

  • Every last person in Europe (and probably half of Americans) know's it's "oui"; I'm not correcting you to make myself sound smart, I pointed it out so you wouldn't look so stupid the next time.

But, given your replies, I fear there is no hope for you. You're going to appear to be a retard no matter what with an attitude like that.

  • ever person in europe eh? and half of americans? oh god im so stupid typing wi instead of oui. why have i wasted 3 minutes of my arguing with you on a groundhog day board.

  • Comment removed

  • i honestly apologize to the uk for saying united kingdom instead of guerilla sauce.

  • canada's national language is french as well as english, so 100% of canadians would know it's oui as well, guerrilla sauce. also, see algeria and other french colonies that have french as a national language. half of americans don't even know where canada is so i don't expect they would know what 'oui' is. so he/she is not that smart afterall nateman.

  • "ha! what a waste of time!"

  • ''you speak french...-wiii...'' hahahaxD

  • I just love Phil's expression when he tries "his favourite drink".

  • haha....i like the Bartender in the back who shakes his head

  • To World Peace!

  • For anyone who cares, the french poem is "La bourrée du célibataire" by Jaques Brel.

    The french:

    "La fille que j'aimera

    Sera comme bon vin

    Qui se bonifiera

    Un peu chaque matin"

    Which in English roughly means:

" The girl that I will love will be like a fine wine, who will improve a little each morning"

  • thnxxx.,.., french sounds so beatiful.. one of the finest languages in the world!

  • hmm... his pronunciation wasn't particularly good though ;-)

You should listen to Jacques Brel (Ne me quitte pas...)

He's actually a belgian singer btw!

  • Thanks for this!

  • @pittjames Whoops, its actually a song which you can hear here: watch?v=49HdI28vsLE, skip to 1.44 for the relevent bit.

  • who the f$@% drinks straight vermouth unless it's in a martini.. lol

  • i ordered a sweet vermouth once and i swear my expression was just like bills it tastes like shit!

  • im french and i dont understand a word when he speaks french!!!

  • Well I speak English and I don't understand a word when he speaks French either?! :P

  • 2:55 to 3:05 - so funny - "i studied 19th century french literature"....."ha! what a waste of time"....lmao

  • Agreed.

  • "It always makes me think of Rome, the way the sun hits the buildings in the afternoon"

LOL! Man he's such a phoney.

  • My bands single is on youtube (The Beronics - My,oh,My) If you'd be kind enough to give it a listen.Thanx.

  • no spam please

  • "Off to see the groundhog?!"

    "Indeed I am!"

"Do ya think it's gonna be an early spring?!"

    "I'm predicting March 21st."

My favorite scene though is when he gives that long poetic newscast referencing Chekhov. I bowl over in tears every time.

  • does anyone understand the movie theatre scene? i dont understand the whole, going to the movies dresses as eastwoods and acting and talking like that. and who is the broad he gets to dress like a stripper maid?? i just dont understand the point of that scene

  • This is just Phil in his early horny phase. He probably slept with every eligible woman in town. Nancy was just the first of many conquests we never saw. He did repeat living through Groundhog Day for something like ten chronological years after all.

  • He probably saw the same movie dozens of times. It being the only choice of movie for so long, he had to do something to spice up the experience. Think Rocky Horror Picture Show and what those fans do to enjoy the experience after seeing the movie countless times.

  • he's such a scumbag, don't you love em?

  • "Do you ever have deja vu?"

"Didn't you just ask me that?"

    ROFL

  • Comment removed

  • i read in the trivia for this movie that he was living the same day for ten years. The director said this.

  • oui, haha

  • Hands-down the FUNNIEST moment in the film.

"Bwahahaha, what a waste of time!"

The frumpy, sad look on her face=priceless.

Thank YOU for posting this, happy dude!

  • wee

  • this movie is just so clever, every time I watch it i get a new angle perspective. i have seen it about 40 times

  • oui! Oh my god priceless

  • i like to say a prayer, and drink to world peace

  • I love that scene! Best scene in movie history.

  • Oh man - that French poetry scene is the funniest part of the entire movie

  • This IS THE MOVIE

    intelligent, funny, wonderful.

When you feel sad, you need to watch this

  • One of my best films of all time. Seriously, when ever I feel down, blue, downtrodden, I put this DVD on and it NEVER FAILS to make me smile, laugh and feel so much better. Bill Murray is a comedy genius and deserves to stand shoulder to shoulder with the all time greats after this performance.

Absolutely brilliant - morons, your bus is leaving!

  • truth..you speak the truth! I use that morons line all the time..LOL

  • lol, I also like 'Im A god, not THE God' and when confronted with 'whats makes you so special, everybody worries about something?' I love the reply 'Thats exactly what makes me so special'

LOL ! Brilliant. So many lines to use, wouldnt you agree!

  • @truthoutmedia I have watched it on Ground Hog Day the first years after my sister gave it ot me on VHS. I thought of getting it on DVD though.

  • Bill Murray is the best. I've seen this movie so many times and it never gets old. Thanks for posting this. Hahaha!

  • What was the poem/line Bill quoted in French?

  • sounds something like: la fille que j'aimerai saura comment faire...que c'est bon (??) un peu chaque matin

im french, but it doesnt make much sence..

  • it was a poem by Jacques Brel, it's called "La bourrée du célibataire", in English, what he says is "The Girl i will love/ is like a fine wine/ that gets better/ a little each morning"

  • La fille que j'aimera

    Sera comme bon vin

    Qui se bonifiera

    Un peu chaque matin

  • Excellent! Thank you.

Such a beautiful and romantic movie.

  • lol he's like a BS artist

  • all hail bill murray

  • Absolutely lovely! Funny with the capital "F". Love this move.

    "No white chocolate"

  • Must have had to do a ton of editing. But...NO! All they had to do was remember the best scenes and the angles etc. then wait until it all came together!! Why aren't ALL movies made that way?

  • Lol it must have been annoying for him to do this every day to know everything.

  • and that they somehow managed to film it too! Amazing!

  • LMAO^^
