  • This is totally wonderful, someone raised up right by making sure you know the way the world goes round. Play on little angel!

  • With all the rap/pop/disco so prominent on the airwaves, how did you find John Prine, Leo Kottke and the like?

The world is a better place that you did. :-D

  • 13? I think you were born with a guitar in your hand. That is absolutely one of the most beautiful guitar and vocal renditions I've ever listened to, any time. I wish you all the success in the world young lady. Well done :D

  • awesome cover!

  • You certainly could be a busker... someday you'll understand how phenomenally talented you were at 13. I'm sure your talent will continue to grow. Simply beautiful.

Listen to some Blaze Foley, I think you would enjoy covering one or more of his songs.

  • I love Blaze Foley. I play "Clay Pigeons" and I plan on learning "If Only I Could Fly".

  • John Prine, Leo Kottke, & Macyn Taylor. I've been "Macynized", & I'm loving it!!

  • 13? I think Mozart was 8 when he uploaded his first YouTube video - you need to catch up :)

  • I think you are adorable and I am glad you chose this song. I love this song. You have so much feeling in your music. How old are you? It is hard to believe young people can have this much poise and grace and style and that you can actually sound like you have really lived through some of life's experience. Very soulful. Thank you you for sharing your talent. I am playing it again! :0)

  • Thank you for the compliments. I am 16 years old now. I was 13 when this video was made. Glad you liked it. Thanks for listening.

  • You are very awesome! That's the easiest way to put it. I was wondering though if you could point me in the right direction for finding the actual tabs to John's songs... not the chords. I have to play, "Long Monday" for my little sister's wedding coming up and want it to sound as perfect as possible. Any help/ advice you can offer would be amazing! Thank you and keep up the great work! :-)

  • I don't know where you could find some tab. I'm sure there must be some out there. I just listen to the CD and try to play with a similar feeling.

  • awesome! think you could send me the tabs?

  • Great cover! Really liked the guitar playing! Nice job!

  • Awesome!! The Happy the enchilada Song:-)

  • Do consider a degree in music! You'd ace any audition!

  • what a beautiful smile!

  • This is an outstanding video and piece of musicianship. Your love of the music is so apparent in this performance. I have watched a lot of your videos in the last few days and this one, for some reason, has become my favorite. Back in 1977 when I first heard Leo Kottke (Open Country Joy / Constant Traveller) I felt the same way. I've been a Leo Kottke fan ever since. It's going to be the same way here. I enjoy listening to someone who loves their music, and uses their talent in a good way.

  • NIce picking....can I get that tab?

  • good one..love your voice .very different

  • 5 of 5 :-)

  • Have to say one of my favorites of yours for a number of reasons. The lyrics were great. Finger picking was great too (as always).

And you cracked a smile. Great job.

  • Right on!!! finally someone is getting the picking right on this cover...Love it.

  • That was a very beautiful

and cool number , Lady .

Chapeau and keep on picking !

  • It's so good to hear John Prine songs done well and played right. Excellent musical taste. Surprising to hear it from someone so young, but surprising in a good way. Keep posting. Thanks.

  • Very well done.

  • Hey Macyn. Great job on this one. let me know when you plan to release a CD or if you have one in the works. I need to get some more vids posted up here myself. I jus spent 2 hours playing Merle Travis/Chet Atkins tunes with one of the best bluegrass pickers I've ever heard, and I thin I've found the motivation I need to really get back into this again. Your guitar music is so relaxing and easy to listen to. Keep up the good work!!!

  • That accent of yours is so dreamy. Guess im not used to it being canadian

  • I need the tabbs macyn pwease

  • I just kind of followed the melody of the recording. I didn't write it down as tab. I'm capoed at the 4th fret and I'm playing with key of D chords(sounding as the key of F sharp). Glad you like it. Good luck!

  • Okay I am actually in love.

  • Hi Macyn,

I haven't been out in youtube land for a while. I've enjoyed your recent postings.

You are developing into quite an attractive young woman.

Keep up the good work. I hope to see you perform here in Denver sometime.

  • This is great! We need more of this.

  • I just love your stuff. You play Leo Kottke and John Prine which have always been two of my favorites that I never miss when they come to Atlanta. If you start playing some Bob Dylan, I'll probably just roll over and die. One comment on this one: Isn't it "It's a half-an-inch of water..." vs "It's a half-of-inch of water...", or are you just making this small change on purpose? Excellent playing and singing as always!

  • Check out "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright". But don't "roll over and die" or you'll miss one of the brightest stars on YouTube.

    Joel

  • Thanks for posting this. It's one of my all time favorites and very nicely done.

  • Funny story John Prine told about this song. Lady in the audience requested the "Happy Enchilada" song at a concert. John said he didn't know any song about a "happy enchilada". The lady said, "You know, it's a happy enchilada and you think you're gonna drown." You did a great job on it too. Thanks,

    Joel
