  • @philandlinda CHERBOURG in france?

    toujours au top cette chanson

  • very nice ... thanks for the good vibes

  • Thank you.

  • The best Midnight Oil song. Period.

  • Beautiful kids

  • Comment removed

  • It looks almost exactly like Utah.

  • What beautiful pic's to accompany the song, good editing. I think you really caught tthe atmosphere of this song. Takes me back a quarter of a century when I first played the Diesel and Dust album in my student flat. Thanks.

  • Good job youve put together! The photos of the community and this song, which is unfortunately not one of the Oils most heard or known, just takes me back to Australia and brings tears to my eyes. And yes, like the song says: "some people leave, always return". I miss my Koori family and my mates and this song just takes me there. Thanks for posting!

  • i like the videos

  • cheers from canada! tha ks for posting this great collection. My fave oil song EVER!

  • Amazing display...thank you for making this video. I'm sure the aborigonal would agree, a corporation would come and think, "There's nothing". A native would look at the same piece of land and say, "Here's everything". Pity those who worship money cannot understand this truth...some never learn.

  • This remarkable much needed long staying Australian band do know how much they have given this musical world---they can't truly know how their music affects one, here in Australia and abroad or perhaps they do...to identify with word and place is a great gift.....thankyou all band members past and disbanded and to re-connect as time sees fit we can only hope......you crank tunes and word beyond belief......blissfull

  • Gotta love the song-writing of this band. Even having grown up in England when I first heard Diesel & Dust at age 13 I had an immediate affinity with the Great Southern Land. Probably a past-life part-remembered.

  • 12,666 views and 0 thumbs down. I think that speaks for itself. Midnight Oil were people doing and saying the right things, about protecting people and places that were being misused and disrespected in Australia and the world. These are pictures of some of those people and places. I think the message resonates with everyone.

  • wow; great job with the slideshow. thumbs up!

  • Hi guys

They were awesome times, miss the lands

    sherry

  • j'adore , le meilleur groupe que je connaisse. excellente cette musique !

  • These photos are fantastic - can you explain why the people of the Warakurna community allow you to take photos while it is strictly forbidden down the road at Warburton? I like the photo of the caged supermarket - just like the petrol pumps on the Great Central Road.

  • @c921234. That's an easy questiong @c921234. I spent quite a lot of time up at Warakurna with the fantastic people there. I went out into the bust with them and hunted then came back with them and shared their spoils. It was one of the most amazing times of my life. How did I get so many amazing images of them and Warakurna? Simple. I asked them.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs!

  • I do not know what to say for this video photos. they are extremely good

It made me travel to such a beutiful country. it brings me good memories I mean the excellent song. excellent job!! congratulations to the person who put this artwork to enjoy my ears. eyes. and soul. GREETINGS FROM Guadalajara Mexico

no se que decir por estas fotos del video son extremadamente buenas. me hacen viajar a tan hermoso pais. la cancion me trae buenos recuerdos.

    excelente trabajo!! felicidades!!

  • @miguelonzky Thankyou for your kind words. Would you like me to send you an HD version of my production? Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

  • I agree...well done. Much respect!

  • this is not the Buckingham Palace, this is the crown land, this is not our land, there is enough, love it!

  • Excellentissime morceau et vidéo top, les midnight oil merveilleux de vitalité et de fraternité, carrément archétypaux; merci de ce partage!

  • i love australia. especially regeinal ares in north west queensland like mt isa.

  • Beautiful, beautiful job! I hesitated before watching as Warakurna is nearly sacred to me....my favorite song from my favorite band. Thank you for bringing it to life. :)

  • @DianeDogma

thanks for your kind words. If you would like a copy of the original clip here, please contact me and I'll send it your way. corcaigh@internode.on.net

  • @DianeDogma. You're right. It is an amazing part of Austalia with direct links to the Aborigines. I've spent some time up there working in their community and forging strong links with them all. I'm looking forward to returning soon.

  • If too many people watch this video you'll likely get a population boom - everyone will want to go there . . the scenery, the people, the music, ,,, it's a beautiful video.

  • Have you spent time in the real red centre Blackgeoff? It sounds like you may have.

  • @83226505 sorry about the late reply - no I've never been into the real red centre, but I do have a good imagination; the closest I've got is having lived in the WA wheatbelt a few years (sigh). But if I do get to spend my declining years in a place like Warakurna I certainly wouldn't be taking my computer, mobile phone or anything . . . just my dog, my flute, and maybe my partner ... ah, just to get away from the crazy city ...

  • i don't agree with all of their politics, but the music is all class...

  • There is no place on Earth like Oz's red centre. At 19, I was forever changed by it. Thank you

  • Have you been there anako?

  • the house at 1:24 is where I used to live :)

thank you for uploading these stunning pictures., almost every shot just comes out like magic out there.., the blue house is where I bought my first VN Commodore lol., had to go down the back and scavenge the car dump for so many parts but in the end she was worth the effort

  • @mysty0 Hey there. I walked through that car dump one stinking hot afternoon looking for bits and pieces. Remember those hot afternoons at Warakurna? Man, they were something.

  • @83226505 loved the stinking hot., am in south australia too now. I dream of the desert heat again :)

  • @83226505 I did the same too. Walking through the car dump...it's quite weird.

  • Brilliant work Paul. I'm glad I came across this. It's probably my favourite song of all time - unfortunately it's themes and Jim Mogninie's laments are still relevant today.

  • Thanks for your kind words. The Oils are an amazing band allright and they did a visit out to Warakurna back in the eighties. It is an awesome part of Australia. I've been lucky enough to have been able to work and live out there.

  • Yeah great work. It is sad about the situation of the indigenous people of this country, but I do think the government has made an effort to improve their conditions, just conventional British bureaucracy doesn't work in this situation.

  • @therodman70. Yes, you're quite right. It is a haunting piece of music and and an even more haunting part of our (their) country. Cheers for your kind words.

  • the video and the music.both excellent.

  • That was a really moving video. It goes deep into your heart. Well done!! ,from a seasoned traveller.

  • Thanks for your kind words. You're quite right. Warakurna and the entire region have sure burrowed into my heart too. I'm looking forward to my 3rd visit.

  • excellant video .... this is the crown land!

  • Fantastic effort. This should be the official video clip. I will never forget my drive of the Great Central Road in 2006 from Laverton to Ayers Rock passing Warburton and Warakurna (Giles) and played this song as we drove past the Warakurna turn off. This is such remote country, which makes the experience so worthwhile. If you really want to undertake reconciliation, don't march over the Sydney Harbour bridge as there are plenty of opportunities to help our stranded brothers along the way.

  • Thanks for your kind words. It is a very special place. The Western Desert also generates some awesome aboriginal artists too.

  • It is quite a spectacular part of Australia all right. I'm delighted you had the opportunity to see these parts. Not everyone can or does.

  • Yep - you've sold me, I'm going there!

  • check your luggage.. I could be in it.

    This song still gets me...

  • I was in Western Aus back in 1997 and lived in Kununurra, Broome, Carnarvon and Kambalda - never Warakurna though. One day, I'll go back.
