  • I listen to classical music now but encountering some of this Siouxsie music the past couple weeks and hearing/seeing it again after 20 years reminds me how good some of this stuff was. Far too little of the "stuff", (rock music) though. I gave up on the whole genre long ago and I'm much the better off for it in terms of enjoyment.

  • I still remember 2000 punks pogoing on that particular song. and yes, there was also skins on the gig, at Hammersmith palace, , because at this time, skins where not all from the national front, that's what also say the song.

    Regards, siouxsie

"falling on your knees, on your knees", I really kneel in front of you

  • simply incredible. in a true rock and roll hall of fame this would be celebrated and revered

  • Wow...great stuff with John...she is one special woman !

  • John McGeoch is my favorite Banshee guitarist.

  • The best song of "juju" album. Coldwave!

  • dont forget when robert smith was a member

  • I love it. Great musik.

  • she made history, that's all . 2 years before, she was even a little more speed in that song. Ho, and i'm not sure that it is Budgie as drummer, but it look like him. anyone to confirm ?

Budgie Was my first drummer model, even before I know him, what he have done with the creatures was what I would have dreamed to be able to technically do..

wi!th Stewart Coppeland, that's the 2 men I would have love to be able to play the same...

  • @FuckViacom4thJuly

What is really stange is that I loved Bungie way of druming, and i have loved years after Juno Reactor. I juste discover today in wikipedia that he have worked with Juno Reactor

  • her voice is so powerful.

  • All you muthafuckas bow before the queen of punk.

  • Thanks for posting these clips. The Banshees were outstanding for so long - but the McGeoch era is unbeatable. John was a genius and they just seemed to gel perfectly as a band with him. So sad he couldn't continue with them and even sadder he's no longer with us. The last decade has seen so many amazing folks from the punk/new wave seen go - Poly Styrene, Ari Up, Strummer, McGeoch, Tony Wilson, Malcolm McClaren - all way too early. Thanks again for making this material available. Cheers...

  • She Wants Revenge has influence from this band and Bauhaus!

  • I swear, Siouxsie is power. Such unique qualities for a female performer... saying don't mess w/ me!

  • @TravelAtmosphere Definitely don't mess with her, at a show in the 90's I saw her wind up her mic cord like a lassoo, and take out a heckler at least 10 rows back from the stage with her microphone. Incredible aim. She got another idiot with a water bottle at the same show...wonder why they never played there again (rolleyes)

  • amazing amazing concert - just organized the whole thing in my playlist. thanks Skywalker74. John McGeogh absolutely smokes! too bad they didn't play together again after his breakdown or whatever happened. So incredible to see what they created together and then how they kept on going with more - just changing and experimetning. that is the mark of a true artist. She is 24 yrs old here. So talented. wow. and gorgeous to boot.

  • its so funny how i can always hear the cure in their music and Siouxsie and the Banshees in the cures XD

  • oOo I like that first "Raaawwooorrr" @ 2:04. Sends shivers down mah spine it does.

  • such a cool guitar

  • I dunno much about them but that drummer is fuckin awesome!!!

  • @littlemisspookiness1

This is an amaing talented band, ALL of them. They may not "shred" like the big name guitarist or do solo.. but.. believe me.. they are insane!. bass line is so in synch with the drum and that guitar line.. PHEW... totally awesome

  • I wish I could meet her. So much better than all the shitty music around now.

  • @Alma889900 i agree with u so much on ur comment about music 2day being shit what ever happened 2 80s music i was born then but its the only type of music i listen 2 punk metal and goth music bcuz its the best music around

  • I love the way she looks and I love the way she sounds

I Love Siouxsie & the Banshees

  • McGeoch is so good on this song.

  • Goosebumps!!!!!!

  • this song gives me chills whenever i replayed it... I mean this is the best lineup - Siouxsie, Severin, Budgie and McGeoch

  • And there is the birth of goth

  • My God I love this group.

  • mcgeoch at his best

  • Thank you VlogKing and Skywalker, I always see Siouxsie video without pause.. it's my drug

  • Siouxsie IS the fucking Queen........been a fan since 83.........sorry you guys broke up, and sorry for the divorce from Budg....:(

  • There is no official live DVD release of this show. However, there is a bootleg DVD called "Voodoo Dolly: Live In 1981" which contains this full concert as well as the Warwick University broadcast from March 1981 and a few songs performed in January 1979 on "Chorus", French TV.

I have a copy of "Voodoo Dolly: Live In 1981" on DVD. My dad bought it for me here in Sydney at a shop called Red Eye Records. This is one of the best Siouxsie & The Banshees concerts ever filmed!!

  • Damn, this whole series is Awesome!

One of my first gigs was their Brighton stop on this (Juju) tour.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Punk as an "extreme form of romaticism" may be McClaren's take on it (Adam Ant), but to the kids into it right at the start it was pure nihilism. Bands made up of kids just like them, off the dole queues you could go and see for 50p and have a line of whizz, jump around like a maniac, push and shove and crash into your neighbour, and have a good shout. Siouxie was there right at the beginning, long before any college kid donned a long, expensive leather coat paid for by daddy and wrote poetry.

  • lady gaga sucks she is not real she was created by a label and a manager with they changed her style and music style as well i saw her a few years ago before she was lady gaga her music was boring it was me and about 20 others she was plain jain so lady gaga is made up

  • God her face at 2:04 gives me goosebumps! Siouxsie's got one hell of a war-face!

  • a big fuck you to Lady Gaga right here....

  • @NewPaltzIndie Lardy Gaggle?

  • to be in the front of that crowd

  • man budgie was crazyyyyy with the drums!!!

    Love siouxsie just perfect...

  • J. McGeoch rules

  • @annon003 She looks super hot with anything

  • @spadehatesscrewtube lol I don't care much for this argument, but just for the sake of clarification American Indians didn't have a swastika. Asian Indians do.

  • @kkraggs proof? because i seem to remember american indians having light blue reversed swastika type symbols on the canoes ... i'm not saying i'm right and you're wrong, but if i am i'd love to learn the truth.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube I went to a buddhist temple a month or so ago, and according to that the swastica was originaly of buddhist symbol, but was squre instead of diamond and it was called a svastica or something around those lines, nazis stole it from there i though.

  • @EpicFail345 i'm quite sure thats possible, i'll have to look into it, now i want to know. an indian friend of mine told me it was asiatic too. i've always been aware it originated elesewhere than germany. and was presented squared like you said not tilted. thanks!

  • @spadehatesscrewtube Not a swastika,a suncross :)

  • Siouxsie is Hot! and the drummer is on fire... this is a great band.

  • I wonder if Siouxsie ever wore a swastika armband with a star of david shirt at the same time.....

  • Some people talk so much shit on here.

  • This band tottaly rocks!!! The instrumentals are magnificent and her voice is so full of power!!!

  • Comment removed

  • what's up with the Nazi shirt?

  • @Lucifer986 That's not nazi, it's the Star of David (jewish symbol) dUH

  • @boratfan6492 i know just. comparing Israel to the Nazis

  • @Lucifer986 how dumb can one be?

  • @spadehatesscrewtube dumb enough to know that the wall Israel built represents apartheid. That that economical warfare of starving children is oppression. that death of children and innocents is murder. That the displacement of homes and bombing of water and power supplies, schools is evil. That Israel is one of the worlds largest nuclear power. That Israel is not a true democracy because in democracy there is no such thing as "Jewish democracy" it must be democracy for all.

  • @Lucifer986 you know, i don't disagree with a thing you just said.

but you might want to lay off the crack in the fact i was saying whoever tied in the words green day with actual, true punk, is dumb. now, was that you? no? ok then, we have no beef, do we? it's ok to have vehement political views just make sure they're aimed straight ok? also, don't assume everyone is automatically against you.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube " just make sure they're aimed straight ok? also, don't assume everyone is automatically against you"

LOL what are u talking about ?

  • @Lucifer986 ahem. read. then think. then respond. i said its ok to have vehement political views, just make sure theyre aimed straight. what that means is that there was no reason to fight with me because i wasn't arguing with you.

  • @Lucifer986 oh right, my bad, you are dumb for saying the star of david is nazi.

maybe we should go tell the american indians they're nazi too, because you know they had the swastika first. you need to work on seperating the symbol from what people think it means, ie: open your mind and perceptions. you remind me of the people who find jesus or the mother mary in a piece of toast.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube well it was associated with Hitler and Nazism and in this CONTEXT Siouxsie put on an Israeli symbol because the Israelis where offended that in a prior incident she used a swastika symbol. Why where they offended ? because Hitler killed millions. So i criticised Israel of having learnt nothing from Hitler and following in his footsteps.

  • How did 9 Justin Bieber fans even find this?

  • holy hell that was awesome!

  • John McGeoch, you're my god.

  • She's so cute, there...

  • ...aaaaahh...

  • PERFECT, if that had been me I would have hit the mic with the guitar by mistake on 1:33

    xD LOL

  • i hope you are alive, guys..

  • This band rules still! !!!!!

  • Siouxie is just dead sexy anyway...I love her style!!

  • what a nice young lady playing a vox teardrop!

  • Fabulous concert. It's a shame that there is no official DVD release. And the drums... Budgie came from another dimension to show us what rhythm really is. Amazing.

  • This band ruled back then!!

  • and McGeoch was one of the best guitarists of the punk era, listed by Mojo in their "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" for his work on the Siouxsie and the Banshees song Spellbound

  • best version ever!

  • The diva of punk - never equalled or even rivalled. Thank you for Siousxsie & the Banshees.

  • @MrScorpionfish I heard someone the other day call her "The Liz Taylor of Punk" I like that!! lol.

  • @ricchardo that's wrong. she's more like the Diamanda Galas of POP

  • @MrScorpionfish Ditto!

  • LOVE THE WAY SHE LOOKS <3

  • Too bad shes a fossil now. She will always be the Godess of rock to me though. I love you Siouxie

  • Cri de rage, beautiful !!!!

  • love the way she plays it.

  • Brilliant. Way ahead of it's time.

  • i love this song, one of the best ever!

  • i'd consider this as proto-goth,like bauhaus

  • @oibobbo I love peter murphy >.> ... love siouxsie sioux too ^_^...

  • I wonder what kind of guitar Siouxsie has in this video. I've never seen one like that before.

  • It's a Teardrop Guitar.

  • @skywalker74 it's a Vox Phantom

  • @skywalker74 VOX

  • it's a vox teardrop

  • wow, sort of like the one Ian Curtis had.

  • She also used a fender jaguar

  • Comment removed

  • @StillOutcast Vox Teardrop

  • @StillOutcast it's a vox

  • @StillOutcast it's a vox.

  • @StillOutcast Yes, a Vox.

  • @StillOutcast

    it's a VOX

  • @StillOutcast It's a cheaper Japanese copy of a Teardrop guitar which were sold under various brands throughout the 60's and 70's. Most of these copies were hollowbodies, like this one Siouxsie's playing. Hope that helps.

  • @axe600 It's a Vox, not a copy, but it may have been refinished that blue color.

  • @StillOutcast

    TEARDROP GUITAR BY VOX

  • @StillOutcast It's a Vox Teardrop guitar, called a Mark VI by the company I believe. Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones played a white solid-body version, and his bandmate Bill Wyman played a bass version of this hollow-body like the one Siouxsie is playing. I've used them in studio many times, as the pickups are quite microphonic, giving them a great 'lively' tone, but they squeel too much for me on stage.

  • @StillOutcast A VOX teardrop

  • I sure wish Icould travel back in time to the eighties and party as a tiger again and again all over. But your live19 81 is great!Thanx a lot for that, Ifeel 18 again!Misty

  • skywalker74 I love you for uploading this!

  • This is too good - I only wish my computer could go louder.

  • look up Nocturn cd of hers, Brill version of it on their live from the albert hall london.

  • Did Mc Geoch use an E bow in the intro??

  • yes

  • at exactly 3:00 the Inertiatic Intro Embryo appears...

  • Thank you, skywalker74

  • Brilliant piece, Ju-ju was my first exposure to Soiuxsie. Nice to see the late, great John McGeoch.

  • "when you grovel at my feet, make it short and sweet" ....woo hoo!

  • Das ist der geilste Song überhaupt!

    Eine Wahnsinnsstimme!!!!

  • me gusto esta cancion y el look ochentero . saludos desde mexico

  • fucking glorious

  • By the way...JosephKuby this is not metalcore... If you want metal core female vocalist then look for metalcore female vocalist...

  • Siouxsie was, is and always will be unique.....saw her 5 times in the 80's and great memories all of them.

  • Que lindo Budgie! Siempre me encanto la pareje que hacian... aguanten los Banshees!! Grosoooos!!!

  • That siouxsie women is a genius!

  • I heard a local radio dj saying that:

Avril Lavigne is the new version of

Siouxsie I was outraged want to kill the poor ignorant guy.

FLORIDA SUX big time! It's all bout

freaking South Beach which for anyone

who ever traveled a little bit to any little

    middle of nowhere Caribbean beach

     knows it is way better.

  • Well if anyone and not Avril deservres money these guys do. Budgie and Siouxsie are divorced now. The idea that today anything of orinality comes from the USA is dead. Or Banada, just cashing in.

  • I'm sorry, but because of vocals like this... She has GOT to be the hottest woman to ever fucking live. Good lord!

  • Amen to that shit!

  • @FrankZappaInATux

shes sexy for so many reasons but yes the voice is a major one!!

  • GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR what a woman

  • bravissimi

  • I love her growls.

  • I concur. I prefer her growls to the ones made by metalcore people (especially the female vocalists of Walls of Jericho, Arch Enemy and Otep).

  • fuckin brilliant

  • My god she's fantastic!

I thought she was amazing on the recordings of Voodoo Dolly, Cannibal Roses and Placebo Effect but, this song I'd have to add to the list as well.

  • Phenomenal performance. The version from Nocturne with Rober Smith is good too, but this is a definitive version of this song. So great to see Souxsie rocking out. What a talent!

  • Budgie was the boss! Incredible drummer...
