I really want to do this but those hinges scare me, all the antenna wires... I am worried that I will mess something up. So far I only tried the basics, like replacing button pads and broken screens but thats about it... Great video though.

Yes its the wifi module either loose of broken. The back wire plugs into it it plugs into the mainboard. This guy struggles with the the top screen ribbon hold both parts in each hand the ribbon away furthest away

After many attempts of trying to remove the battery cover i kinda wore out the screw (that holds the battery cover in place). any idea on how to extract it somehow?

This Movie is a perfect help to replacing the DSLite Case. NOTE TO NOOBZ---- When replaceing the Last part of the case make sure you keep an eye on the power button, i cracked the little tiny black pice right off now I have to find a new motherboard :(

It doesnt look that hard really, just follow this vid exactly, and keep track of everything and you should be fine, i just ordered this case and im gonna install it myself, should be easy :)

You mean the siticker at the back that has the numbers on it? I changed mine from Crimson/Black to Red because of a crack and it came with a sticker.

man these cases are awesome but annoying as shit!!! when i got mine, none of the screw holes were driled out! so i had to sit for hours opening up the holes and making the damn screws fit! not that its not worth it, but still its frikkin annoying!

For those of you that have the shock case for ds, how are the buttons. I know that each case comes with clear buttons, but how clear are they. Are they completly clear, like glass, or are they more of a frosted clear?

If you go to the end of the video where he opens the ds withthe new covering you will see that the buttons are frosted clear. (u can even see the letters if u look closely)

Just completed chrome mod.

Putting the screen ribbon into the new cse was tricky and took me about an hour.

Main trouble I had was with the L and R buttons, the pin holes were too tight and the buttons would not work, after many many attempts I got it but what a pain in the butt.

had to kind of half a%$ the R button. UGH!

Also I scratched the bottom during installation.

Wish I would have bought the official NDS Black shell that's being sold now.

I'm having a little trouble trying to figure out the L R bumper buttons at this very moment, hope this video helps me.

Got it, it was the mic wire was positioned incorrectly, after readjusting the mic wire under the motherboard R and L and springs sit nicely in place.

Well, I left out the springs in the L and R bumpers and they click fine without them so no probs. I think I left out a few screws too but no biggies all the main structural ones are in, now it's all back toegther and when I try to turn it on it goes on for 1 sec and goes off, I must have not plugged one of those little connectors in properly. this has taken a good few hours now or feels like it with all the reopening to fix bits I left out like that little screw thingy for the battery cover.

But I could fix it if I buy a new upper screen.

Nintendo is supposedly fixing/replaceing all white DS's with the left hinge crack for free. My sons cracked up so bad there were pieces missing, I just put on one of these shock mods, it is a bit technical but just in that you need to be meticulous about where everything goes and how the wires run. Took me about 2 hours, I didn't use any instructions or it could of maybe been quicker. Real nice case.

Do you need to connect them? or do you just put it in there

The wires are for the wireless LAN antenna and the microphone.

They must be connected.
