  • I wanna see that car before you took plasti dip off

  • @koston777

Sorry youtube does not allow to insert a link but I can send you pictures by email.

  • @PlastiDipHUN nice thanks, so was the car blue? Or black i can tell that your hood is dipped but your door looks different

  • @koston777

The hood was a spare one (blue), the original (black) was covered with Plasti Dip commercial that's why we used the blue.

  • i bet you can do this with trash bags

  • So if the cops are chasing you... you just hide in an alley and pull the color off. Then just drive h☺me.

  • @viggoM35 pretty much that's what it's for :)

  • @viggoM35 =)))

  • how many coats did you do or does it matter how many coats u put on it

  • @unboxingguru1

If you use paint gun (don't forget that special type is needed!) 2 coats are enough. If you doing it with the spray 3-4 coats are advised. The thicker is the coat the easier to remove it later. (And more lasting!)

  • Just curious. What is the point of this stuff?

  • @Solumic

This is a flexible "easy to remove" rubber coating. You can make coats on every type of surface and it won't harm the materials. Check the videos under our "Favorites".

  • why do plasti dip that sweet car ?

  • how much does it cost to plasti dip ur whole car??

  • @IamInappropriate

It depends on your local resellers price. You will need 3-4L of Plasti Dip and approx. 2L thinner. But you can be sure that much cheaper than a matte painting and also cheaper than the vinyl wrap.

  • Hi, I just ordered 2.5l of white plasti dip and 500ml of thinner, and planning on diluting it 1:4 will it be ok for alloys and some bits on a car, using electric airless sprayer.

  • @dollarek1

Not all the electric sprayers are strong enough to crush out this stuff. If you dilute it right it should work.

  • @PlastiDipHUN What is recommended or should I say minimum PSI that would deal with plasti dip diluted to 1:4

  • @dollarek1

The recommended numbers for a Binks model 62 gun:

    Cap: 63PB

    Needle: 363-A

    Material: 15-20 psi

    Atomization: 15-25 psi

    Dilution: as needed

If you use other type of gun you should test the settings as each one is recommending different adjustment.

  • while your friend is at work, paint his hood black

  • @paintballgundown8

And sing: -"I see a line of cars and they're all painted black"

(Rolling Stones - Paint it Black :-))

  • Thats no plasti-dip being removed. Thats vinyl wrap!!!

  • @tmilatos

Vinyl wrap is not as flexible as Plasti Dip. I can ensure you that this is PD, try it and you will see!

(Or check the other vids which we collected under "favorites".)

  • @PlastiDipHUN I've never used PD before, so I can' tell the difference... How do you clean and dry a PD surface by the way?

  • @tmilatos

We are using PD for 2 years now so I can tell the difference! :-)

PD is more stronger and more reliable than vinyl (in case of equable thickness).

We use "glass cleaner" and detergent water to clean it.

  • @PlastiDipHUN Will you ever upload a DIY using PD on wide surfaces like bumpers, fenders? It should be very interesting. I've seen vids with people spraying only on rims so far. Thanks for your answers!

  • That is INSANE!!! lol i gotta do that some parts of my car!!

  • Could I Plasti Dip my dick?

  • in the thumbnail it looks like two fingers pinching it lol

  • Absolutely. It's lifetime is about 3-5 years in case of outdoor use.

  • is as easy to remove even after a long period of time ? i plan on reselling my lancer in 4 years and i want the option to bring it back to the stock look ?

  • the greatest thing ever invented if you wanted to pull a crime

  • Okay.... here is the thing.. someone needs to help me. I spray painted plasti dip on my san marino red honda accord coupe Hood. And it looked like complete shit.. i layered everything correctly and it was just blotch after blotch.. After I spray painted that mess. i went out and i bought the liquid plasti dip .. one i can roll the paint on.. STILL looked like shit... How did the guy in this video do such an amazing amazing ass job! Like please someone help me. Ir looks like shit.

  • @brut369

It's hard to make a smooth coating with the spray version on big surfaces. (It can be done you can find nice photos with google.) But in case of a hood, roof etc. it is recommended to use the liquid version filled into a paint gun.

  • @PlastiDipHUN thanks so much! and paint guns usually cost a shit load right?

  • @brut369

Unfortunately PD requires special paint gun - "low air" or "airless" type otherwise a stuff will start to dry in the air (before it reaches the surface and it will be like sandpaper). One more advice on using the spray (on a bigger surface): try to keep the same distance and angle when spraying otherwise the result will be blotchy - as you wrote.

  • @PlastiDipHUN thank u so so much. the only thing i will find hard is to keep my arm in the same distance for that long haha requires a lot of patience, but thanks so much

  • @PlastiDipHUN

I tried the liquid pd with an airless paint gun. It spackled like popcorn ceiling and feels rough like sandpaper. Any suggestions?

  • @BIuntTrauma

Did you use enough thinner? The canned PD is rather thick, you should dilute it (from 4:1 up to 1:1 depending on the type of the paint gun)

  • @PlastiDipHUN

The PD is 14.5 ounces and i added 2 ounces of thinner. How many ounces of thinner should i add in?

Also the paint gun i am using is "Husky Pro Multipurpose Airless Paint Sprayer" from home-depot. If you google it it will show up.

  • Perfect for car theifs lol

  • I recently tried to spray some parts of my car, but the results aren't good. I think that cans are not the best choice for spraying something like a hood or a roof or any wide surface. I think that paint gun is the only choice.

  • @Dav998

Yes, this is true it's hard to cover a big surface with the spray because if you can't hold the same distance and the same angle during the painting there will be stripes in the texture. Despite of this you can find very good full car and car parts painting on the net (which were done by spray), but surely the paint gun is a better choice for "big works".

  • what brand sprayer do you recommend? And which plasti dip did you use? obviously not the spraypaint one.

  • @Kyu1LL

The brand doesn't matter, airless system or low air pistols are the best for painting. We used the can version with thinner and applied low air paint gun.

  • @PlastiDipHUN doesn't the thinner affect the original paint? I can't imagine that being good for the car's clear coat

  • @Kyu1LL Absolutely NO, it won't harm the painting. We tested it on several surfaces (plastic, metal, chrome, glass, wood etc.) and it did not made any effect on these. Performix guarantees that. Check other peeling vids on youtube and you will see!

  • @Kyu1LL Aslong as the thinner doesnt sit, when I clearcoat a car on a hot die, I put 10% thinner into the whole clearcoat amount, it just makes it so its not applied thick, but not to runny.

  • @PlastiDipHUN link for what paint gun you would need? and mixture for the same thing you did here?

  • Plasti dip 09 Malibu begins tomorrow !!!!!!! :)

  • @skaraudio

    Any results?

  • @PlastiDipHUN ok thank you for the help, your the first person to be able to answer that question

  • Can you use this plasti dip stuff on taillights?, with it damage them?, and how long does it last?.. Sry for many questions

  • @gunmetal0209

Yes, you can use it. It won't damage the surface and you can peel it off whenever you want.

U can find pics with Google (type plasti dip tail lights)

  • It looks sick! We Are plasti dipping our 09 Malibu show car within the next 2 weeks :)

  • @skaraudio

We are looking forward for the results! Please share pics, vids and your experiences! ;-)

  • how do you do this? What do you buy? What do you need?

  • @jasalazar7010

You need a special paint gun (airless or low air) but you can use it similar to other paints.

  • It was made with paint gun (because it's creates thicker coats than the spray) and it was painted twice.

  • How many coats did you use?

  • besides getting a fairly good and sought after look plastidip works well for a temporay bra on long drives

  • Don't worry, it leaves nothing the painting is as shine as before! ;-)

  • unreal thanks. I have been wanting to do this to my hood. I was worried about the paint though.

  • Thats the proof i need! Now i can go plasti dip my wheels lol

  • We participated on a tuning show and we presented a cheap and easy way to create a matte black design.

  • why plasti dip your hood for?

  • @mrblockboii to protected it from scratches maybe??
