  • My Grandmother had this clock radio for years. Now I know what model it was.

    Looks pretty well built too!

  • Thanks for posting!!!

  • cool radio. i LOVE flip-card mechanical digital clock radios. in fact, i have one myself, made in June 1978, for Macys Corporation (branded Supre-Macy)

  • are you in california? i hear a ton of radio stations, sounds like san diego

  • Do these ever need oiling?

  • That's a cool radio Chad!!! We had a Panasonic like that one in 1977 and I think we might still have it in our storage unit, I also have a fully refurbished 1948 GE Model 62 AM clock radio that uses tubes that I ordered from a guy in 2003 in California named R.J. Dial, He refurbishes old radios to their original working condition, It works really great!!! I'll try to send you a picture of it sometime, By the way, I love your collection of old buses and especially the 1978 Grand Marquis!!!

  • that alarm would sure wake you up!! sounds like an air horn ;)

    very sweet clock.

  • Its a wonderful clock

  • I notice this one too has a AFC mode. hmm..

So whats the WAKE mode for? is that what they use for SLEEP mode ?

  • That 51 could refer to the week of the year (there being 52 in all) but I am not sure.

  • Very nice! I like those old flip clocks. I would agree on giving it a little oil.

That alarm is really loud, it could wake the dead.

  • Wow, that alarm is loud!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice clock radio, really like the flip type clock. That was a surprise seeing a power transformer in the radio.

  • Sounds good! I especially liked where the main controls are on the front.

  • That alarm sounds like an air raid siren. I'd have no problem waking up if I heard that go off.

  • Use have one like

it was my grandpa and it was Panasonic

But it was really old and it feel apart .

that is a nice GE clock Radio

    Happy thanksgiving Chad

  • I have a Panasonic mechanical digital clock on my desk at work. It still keeps time just as acurite as a computer.

  • This unit looks totaly different from my Analog digit clock. Mine doesn't have a snoose feature or sleep timer and is controlled only by switches. The date code on mine is 5039. I really wish there was a way to figure these crazy GE date codes out.

I'm wondering if mine needs some oil too because it's pretty noisy although keeps perfect time.

  • Videos like this are why I like your posts. You have a great collection. I bet I could spend a month in your stomping grounds and still not see everything!

  • Thanks a lot! I only wish I had more space to have all of my equipment set up....unfortunately there is a lot in storage but I am continuing to try and get more and more things repaired and in use.

  • wow thats a nice one!

  • Awesome! i got a similar GE clock/radio, but the alarm on mine doesnt work properly. The clock works though!

Very cool design. I really like the red lighted radio dial.

  • Thanks! The incandescent bulb in there is still good after all these years.

  • Whoa, I love the styling of that! Looks like an stereo receiver from that same time period. 1975 sounds just about right! GE really made good clock radio back then.

  • You're right, it does! The slide function controls look a lot like the slide volume/treble/bass controls on some of this age stereo receivers.
