Hello. What do you do for lent?Do you swim and if you do do you wash your hair or rinse it. My sisterlocks are a little over a year old my family likes to swim a lot maybe two to four times a week .What do you suggest?Great Video. God Bless.
I am so sorry that it took so long to respond. I wash my hair as soon as possible after getting out the pool. From my own experience, I have noticed that my hair gets very dry, brittle, and the moisture in your hair will be stripped if the chlorine is not washed out. I hope this helps.
Many times your locs will thin when there is alot of pressure being applied to the locs. For example, I like to put my hair in an updo when I am tired of it hanging down. In fact, I put my hair up everyday.
If I pull on the ends of my locs to hard and not be gentle, I notice that over a period of a week or two that the ends will start to thin in the areas where I was not gentle to my hair.
So you say interlocking actually PRESERVES the dread, and that's the only method I use now (I stopped retwisting because I'm an athlete and always sweating, so when I'd twist it would never stay anyway). So I just decided to interlock as my maintenance routine from now on (which is the BEST for me!), but I actualy thought it would thin out the lock over time, but wasn't sure whether it'll benefit my dreads in the long run or not. But what do you think?
From what I know, I have never been told that it will eventually thin out the lock. According to the lock tech that I go to back home, I was told that it will preserve the locks. I would ask a professional for their opinion, to see if you get a different answer than what my lock technician said. Happy Holidays!
Cool :) Thanks for the info. I'm glad to here that it actually preserves the loc like you said, so thats good news for me since I can never keep a re-twist through all my sweating.
But thanks again :) and Happy Holidays to you too!
i did color my tips myself - and I don't remember the color because I colored them about 2 or 3 years ago but it was a regular hair color you purchase from a beauty supply store - I am thinking about coloring them again, so if I do I will post a youtube video and i will post the products used.
