  • play this all day on piccolo = one pissed off conductor

  • Anyone else feel like they're in an elevator? XD

  • The tune! I can't get it out of my mind!

    Awesome!

  • Love this! Thanks for uploading :)

  • i made this my ringtone. it went off in class and my teacher said let it go i love this song then he took my phone:/

  • I love that this joke gets better as time goes on. when the first movie came out, this type of music probably still existed. Either that or it was very recent. It was humorous for the randomness of the intermission. Now, if you heard it for the first time, it would be funny because of the type of music. Only Monty python can create jokes that get better with age. (just so you know, I wasn't actually alive when the movie came out, so I could be wrong)

  • i love this movie

  • 7 people messed up when they were asked their favorite color

  • I wish American theatres would bring back intermissions for their god-awful 3 hour snoozefests... and ONLY use this Python tune!

  • I want to learn how to play the organ just so I can play this song.

  • @CamillaCalamity: This music plays in heaven on a continuous loop.

  • @MissGoldenDreams13 THERE IS NO ESCAPE

  • I always move my head side to side unconsciously with the music when i hear it :3

  • @alex22x same here lol!

  • This music plays in Hell on a continuous loop.

  • @CamillaCalamity If this is hell's theme music, then i'm not worried about my afterlife ^^

  • 7 People don't know the air speed velocity of a unladen swallow

  • The music is just so goofy that it makes you laugh every time you hear it.

  • Catchy music

  • thumbs up if you watched the whole intermission

  • I believe this is a version of "Alligator Crawl" by Fats Waller.

  • True story: The first night that my high school was putting on the musical "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," we had a stage change that was taking too long to play the music we had to fill the time, so I quickly taught this song to our pianist and she played it while the stage changed. Epic.

  • I've just had this idea... This song gotta wake me up almost every morning :D

  • my new theme song

  • Does this song have a name? I've heard the same main riff in other contexts.

  • I have an image of somebody standing next a really hot chick in an elevator akwardly smiling as this msuic plays.

  • Turnaround FTW

  • I need to learn this on Accordion.

  • @MoreBritish58 Please do!

  • Six people don't enjoy 2 minutes and 38 seconds of a relaxing intermission.

  • ENCORE!!!!!!!

  • THIS IS THE BEST SHIT THAT I HEARDED IN TOO MUCH MANY TIME !!

  • I've been listening to this for thirty minutes. XD

  • @aabce2

hahah me 2. Im terrorizing people at work with this song

  • 5 people gave tim the wrong answers

  • @DonSchvester Tim was the Enchanter. You're confusing him with the bridge-keeper.

  • @tlatosmd you are correct my friend, and a true fan of monty python!

  • idky, but whenever I hear this, it always puts me in a good mood, no matter what

  • I am playing this for my music performance.

  • What? Cut off in the middle of the movie? Oh well. Time to get more Popcorn.

  • five people wet themselves

  • HOLY SHIT...THERES NO THUMBS UP COMMENTS ON HERE. YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHh

  • Me and some mates went to see this at a screening a few years ago.

We knew when the interval was coming, so we dashed out of the auditorium, then came straight back in again eating chocolates just as the film restarted.

  • I remember when I watched this with my friends a few years ago, we kept listening and waiting to see when the song would stop playing and everytime it looped we laughed like hell.

It all seemed so incredibly ridiculous and comical for some reason, it NEVER stopped. =P

  • BEST SONG EVER.

  • FATS WALLER FTW!

  • My friends and I watched this movie today. We ended up dancing to this music. :D

  • I can't believe the movie ended like this... D:!

  • I seriously cannot listen to this song without cracking up :P

  • SOOOOO DAMN CATCHY!

  • What... is your favourite color? Blue! ...NO! *dead*

  • That's Alligator Crawl right there. Isn't it?

  • I don't know why, but I laughed for 10 minutes after hearing this the first time.

After I stopped laughing I didn't know what I was laughing at. Then I heard it again and laughed for another 10 mins.

  • @Paskakasane o.O thats exactly what i did =]

  • In the ending when the song was playing for 10 minutes I lmao whenever the song restarted like at 0:49 XD

  • so amazing that Tool covered this: QSvtGQUqldA

  • This would be badass if i was just randomnly in a elevator and this came on, i'd laugh and then cry because it would be beautiful.

  • Even the intermission of this film makes me lose my shit.

  • I love this film and this music! :D

If you like too, add + for this comment...

  • hehe i remember this part in the movie... right in the iddel of the action. boy is monty python a hot shit or what! HAHAHA

  • My friend knows how to play the organ, and I've been badgering him for years to learn how to play this song. Monty Python forever!

  • This Sound Track Rock's !!

  • Can this be found from any of the monty python cd's?

  • HAHAHAHA

  • Let me answer this. The original movie contains 24 frames per second which has to be converted to PAL (25fps) or NTSC (30fps) for television broadcast and DVD as they use these systems. The result of the conversion is what many of us can hear: it is slightly faster. You can clearly hear the difference when you listen to the original soundtrack CD of a film after watching it on TV or DVD.

  • Soon, every company in the world will have this as a 'please hold' tune and every cell phone will come w this ring-tone programmed.

  • Why does this music make me laugh so hard? XD

  • Best song in the god damn world!!

  • BEST SONG EVER

  • LOL!

  • Yesh! Yesh!

  • PUNCH THE KEYS FOR GODS SAKE

  • HI JIMM and PDE

  • uploading your dumb site

  • I have this as my cellphones ring tone and during school I never put it on vibrate and make somebody call my cellphone during class, which really freaks out the teachers

  • This would be the most epic awkward elevator music ever :D

  • Lol awesome music. I tried playing this after we watched it in school. Too bad I'm a guitarist not an organ player. Oh well.

  • YTMND

  • I could just imagine somebody having a horrific accident or something to this. The contrast underlines the hilarity.

  • I'd like to see someone hack into the sound system at a concert and play this.

  • ...So they ate Sir Robin's minstrle

  • and there was much rejoicing!

    *yaay*

  • It sounds like Skating rink music :)

  • An African swallow, or a European swallow?

  • @xZippy38 I don't know

  • Why is the key wrong? It sounds like it's been sped up. The key is about a third above where it was in the original movie.

  • I've been noticing this on many DVDs, it seems to be higher pitch for some reason.

  • @RescoeZ Could be an NTSC vs. PAL frame rate conversion issue. I've heard of something related to that causing issues with the pitch of the audio on dvds.

  • @RescoeZ knowing monty python, they probably did that on purpose! lol

  • @RescoeZ PAL

  • @RescoeZ It comes from a PAL copy, that's why. PAL is 25 frames per second, standard film is 24. They run the film faster to get a 1:1 film-to-video framerate conversion.

  • @TServo2049 I didn't know that, you really do learn something new everyday :-)

  • @TServo2049 Does that mean the movie. . .seems faster?

  • @EverardXavier Its called digital resmastering

  • @EverardXavier Probably from a PAL version. PAL is 25fps while NTSC is 23.9fps, so some films are converted by speeding them up by 4%, which leads to higher pitched sound.

  • @EverardXavier it's modulated to F#.. the original is in F.

  • @EverardXavier That's due do the "PAL Speed-Up". Movies in Theatres run at 24 frames a second, while DVDs in the PAL regions need 50 frames, so they create in-between frames, but that only makes up for 48 frames, so the dvd is sped up slightly. This is also why PAL DVDs run approximately 5 min on 90 minutes shorter than the theatrical version

  • This on cellphone --> "Hold on a sec, I am busy not picking the phone up."

  • @Shokukumi That would be so damn funny.

Someone calls you and then they get some message like "I cannot take your call right now, please hold".

Then you play this melody for like two minutes and then they finally get to record a message. XD

  • @Laurelindo I'm actually considering doing that xD *hi5*

  • albatross get your albatross!

  • I wish I had a loop version, I'd listen to it while I'd play video games :D

  • IT'd make a great ringtone too :D

  • that or a "please hold" tone

  • Please hold tone?

  • ya know, one of those goddamn peices of elevator music that you have to listen to when some company or other puts on hold when you call them

  • This is about an octave higher than it should be, but it's still funny.

  • Comment removed

  • Sweet now I can go get a sandvich

  • I'm not quite sure why but I put that on my Ipod and I keep listening to it =D

  • :-D

  • haha me and a friend were joking about this music because we had seen the holy grail the other day... right now half past two in the night here in holland silently gaming i put this music on XD

  • Just reminds me of being in the cinema at the end of Holy Grail, sat listening to this on the end credits with an open mouth and being unable to move for some reason

  • :D (This comment was too short so this spam is EXTRA CHARACTERS! WOOOOOOT!)

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS

  • The middle part of Alligator Crawl by Fats Waller.

  • i don't care who's in there with me, i would dance to this in an elevatorXD

  • ..so...addictive.... fits so well in the Holy Grail! Only pure genius (Monty Python) would pick up on something like this

  • best song ever.

  • ozzy aint got nothing, lol

  • It would be epic to listen to this music when you wait someone on the phone.

  • lol, hold please!

  • @gommbario ROFL

  • I NEED THE MP3!! :D

  • 6/5 stars

  • its to high

  • You do realize you're watching a show about card games right?

    YGOTAS FTW!

  • My fav python's 1) John Cleese 2) Eric Idle 3) Michael Palin. Is there a name to this son?

  • Yes, It's called the Alligator Crawl by Fats Waller. It was really written for piano, but I prefer this version far more, eh?

  • You are correct, however just the first 5 seconds of the song and when the melody repeats is part of Alligator Crawl. The other 45 seconds of the song is original and has more of a mideval style. Also the part that does represent Alligator Crawl is sped up to about twice the speed, depending on what version of Alligator Crawl you are listening to. Still it is a clasic song and organ best fits the mood, particularly a Hammond model.

  • i want this as my skype ringtone

  • I LOVE THIS !

  • I want to make this my ringtone!

  • best... song.... EVER. Makes me wanna dance! Wooooo
