I have this conspiracy that escalators break down so much because nature does not agree with laziness. Or escalator repairmen purposely leave them broken so they can stay in business.
Who dislikes this?? How can you not feel the raw energy is this amazing song. Some people need to get a life! You don't hear much better than this still!!
hang on to me im one in a millllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'm not Canadian, and I don't think it matters really. This song touched me more than any other has ever. So much passion and feeling that the meaning doesn't even matter, not that it doesn't have a story, sometimes the way the story is told is more important though :)
I last heard this song on the radio around 2001 and I loved it, ever since then it's been bothering me who sung it, i couldn't find it anywhere, i finally googled the chorus one of a million today, then youtubed the results, damn I love this song
The singer reminds me of vin deseal, I seriouslly thought hed be white with blonde flowing hair from his voice. AMAZING song non the less heard this on the radio non the less back in the 90s :)
This song always reminds me of "The Brave Little Toaster". Especially the scene towards the end when the old appliances finally make it to the kid's apartment, and there's all these new-fangled high-tech intimidating appliances trying to scare them. Heh.
hehe well for me, whenever I hear Memorabilia by Soft Cell, I'm reminded of that scene...especially with the little rap in the middle...I don't know haha...but I see how this song would too :)
Personally, I think Canadian music is the best there is! The Hip, Rush, The Barenaked Ladies, the list goes on...I'm from the States, but I grew up on the border, so we got all sorts of sweet Canadian radio stations.
Same here I'm in Niagara Falls NY and I only listen to Canadian radio. Sadly even that isn't what it used to be, but I still love Canadian rock.......and the Trailer Park Boys!
Check out Doctor X, a great extension of everything Daniel and the boys pulled off here. I think we need to start a petition to bring them back. I'd even pay their salaries, as long as my $14 in savings was enough to cover it...
I imagine most of the world thinks of Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, and Celine Dion when someone mentions Canadian music. *This* is Canadian music. Just incredible.
brilliant. The Watchmen disbanded a little while ago, I believe a few of them formed a group called Doctor for a short time, but thats gone now too. a damn shame that
Kinda cheaply made though?!How bad does it show? >>..Whatever did become of all my friends?, Whatever happened to the likes of all i had? I'm all hooked up wrong.
I remember a song from the radio, it was a rock one and it sounded like an arabic one. Does anyone know? It sounded like the Placebo and I remember something like Haya haya haya something like that.
Ken looks so relaxed on his bass...this is definitely the the most mellow I've ever seen him apart from his new solo stuff. If you ever get a chance to meet him take the opportunity. He's one of the most down to earth guys I've ever met. Check out some of his other stuff. Just search Ken Tizzard
BTW I love the subtle irony with the Janitor walking in to find all the dead bodies - the yuppies all die from an electronic door not opening; the Janitor uses a set of keys and wonders what the hell is wrong with everybody. LMAO
OMG I love this song. This tune is pretty much my life anthem. The lyrics are so thoughtful but the tune is so powerful - a theme of disappointment and regret, and yet there is hope, like a madman finally freeing himself of his own imagined prison by acknowledging it. He's saying: "This is my life, and it's not great, but DAMNIT it's my life and I'm taking over from here on out, no matter what the rest of the world has to say or do about it." '...And the truth shall set your free.' 5/5
