  • I have this conspiracy that escalators break down so much because nature does not agree with laziness. Or escalator repairmen purposely leave them broken so they can stay in business.

  • I'm not Canadian, and I don't think it matters really. This song touched me more than any other has ever. So much passion and feeling that the meaning doesn't even matter, not that it doesn't have a story, sometimes the way the story is told is more important though :)

  • @teksiis canadian songs are often raw and filled with emotion. that's y i like canadian artists

  • @PinkChocolat07 We gotta get it out somewhere :P

  • my life is a stereo...kind of cheaply made though

  • I last heard this song on the radio around 2001 and I loved it, ever since then it's been bothering me who sung it, i couldn't find it anywhere, i finally googled the chorus one of a million today, then youtubed the results, damn I love this song

  • omg i haven't hear these guys in so long. this song is awesome.

  • memories of 102.cfny toronto... when they used to play real alternative music. RIP Martin Streek, see you soon brother.

  • These guys are so good live, I paid to see them open for the Hip and left when their set was done.

  • @Tifroggie Good for you. I honestly don't see why Gord Downy is so damned popular. He sounds like someone kneed Bob Dylan in the stones.

  • Man - what a power hit this song is. How good does it get!!

  • Love this song! :) great job guys!

  • where can I find a GOOD version of their song ''Slomotion'' ?!????????

I've been searching for so long!!

  • The singer reminds me of vin deseal, I seriouslly thought hed be white with blonde flowing hair from his voice. AMAZING song non the less heard this on the radio non the less back in the 90s :)

  • Sorry, I think vin deisel is one of the hottest actors of all of ever xD

And I love the 90's that's when almost all the good tunes are from xD

  • Goddamn this song is good! Makes me proud to be Canadian (amongst many many many other things!)

  • @vschubert hellz yeah brother im canadian

  • these guys are from Winnipeg, my home town. they broke up awhile ago. rumor has it they are reforming.

  • oui vraiment..a very good song

  • de loin un des plus grand hit canadien ever!

  • This Song Rocks!!!!!

  • If you like old (90's)Canadian bands don't forget to check out Age of Electric, Moist, Limblifter, and Rusty.

  • This song always reminds me of "The Brave Little Toaster". Especially the scene towards the end when the old appliances finally make it to the kid's apartment, and there's all these new-fangled high-tech intimidating appliances trying to scare them. Heh.

    Am I alone on this?

  • hehe well for me, whenever I hear Memorabilia by Soft Cell, I'm reminded of that scene...especially with the little rap in the middle...I don't know haha...but I see how this song would too :)

  • This song wins. I didn't hear it until recently, but I love it.

  • really? it's an old song

  • Stereo in Winnipeg. Apparently a great bar - great song to!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watchmen at MTS centre in Winnipeg October 30, YEAH BABY!!

  • I heard this on the radio.. thought it was a new hip song but turns out its ten years old :O

  • lol a new hip song. good lord you need to listen to more music.

  • Playing at Mavericks in Ottawa, 19th September

  • Personally, I think Canadian music is the best there is! The Hip, Rush, The Barenaked Ladies, the list goes on...I'm from the States, but I grew up on the border, so we got all sorts of sweet Canadian radio stations.

  • Ha. Sweet. I've a couple to add to your list... ; ) Nickelback and Default. Saw them live a couple of times each and lov'em...

I've had this song in my head all weekend... heard on the radio. Can't believe this song's 10 years old.

  • i love him - a combination of Vin Diesel and a librarian - intoxicating mix

  • VIVA LA CANADA!!!!

  • Der absolute Wahnsinn!!! Dieses Lied ist eins der besten der 90`er!!!!

  • This is one of the best songs ever written.

    God bless Canadians.

  • Check out Doctor X, a great extension of everything Daniel and the boys pulled off here. I think we need to start a petition to bring them back. I'd even pay their salaries, as long as my $14 in savings was enough to cover it...

  • Bardate_May_17_2008_'This song came up earlier

and we could not think of it.

    Increased drunkability has improved memory

    Oh yeh gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love these guys..

...what ever happened to the likes of all of them...??

  • o freakin CANADA!!!

  • ...it is the lyrics...for anyone, especially those born mid sixties...

  • one in a million, this song kicks ass

  • whatever happened to the singer? great voice, great song

  • I imagine most of the world thinks of Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, and Celine Dion when someone mentions Canadian music. *This* is Canadian music. Just incredible.

  • Can't forget about the Tragically Hip!

  • The MOST overplayed Canadian band. Overplayed to the point one begins to despise them.

  • I mean the Tragically Hip, NOT the watchmen.

  • i also like OLP, the weakerthans and T-hip (i live in the states so i like hardly ever hear them not on CD)

  • A really good station is 91.3 The zone... I live in the states too but they play a ton of great music...

  • I feel for you bro. I used to hear them all the time. I lived in upstate NY. we got a lot of canadian music stations. I love Canadian music!

  • the lead singer went solo and no one ever heard from him again

  • brilliant. The Watchmen disbanded a little while ago, I believe a few of them formed a group called Doctor for a short time, but thats gone now too. a damn shame that

  • VH-1 in Germany was playing this video up and down in '98.

Recorded it on VHS back then - thanks for posting!

  • i love this song. it took awhile to find this

song i couldn't remember the band's name at

    first. " one of a millionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn "

    good times man!

  • Kinda cheaply made though?!How bad does it show? >>..Whatever did become of all my friends?, Whatever happened to the likes of all i had? I'm all hooked up wrong.

  • I found out just how loud the stereo in my truck is when this came on on my way back from my ex's house. Damn good driving music >:)

  • I remember a song from the radio, it was a rock one and it sounded like an arabic one. Does anyone know? It sounded like the Placebo and I remember something like Haya haya haya something like that.

  • Love them...I miss the 90's!!

  • I love this song!<3

I'm about to play it with my band as well.:)

  • do u no where to get tabs for it

  • I love this song! It reminds me of 8th grade : )

  • so much underrated Canadian music to love...

  • Ken looks so relaxed on his bass...this is definitely the the most mellow I've ever seen him apart from his new solo stuff. If you ever get a chance to meet him take the opportunity. He's one of the most down to earth guys I've ever met. Check out some of his other stuff. Just search Ken Tizzard

  • Holy shit, I forgot about this one.

  • BTW I love the subtle irony with the Janitor walking in to find all the dead bodies - the yuppies all die from an electronic door not opening; the Janitor uses a set of keys and wonders what the hell is wrong with everybody. LMAO

  • OMG I love this song. This tune is pretty much my life anthem. The lyrics are so thoughtful but the tune is so powerful - a theme of disappointment and regret, and yet there is hope, like a madman finally freeing himself of his own imagined prison by acknowledging it. He's saying: "This is my life, and it's not great, but DAMNIT it's my life and I'm taking over from here on out, no matter what the rest of the world has to say or do about it." '...And the truth shall set your free.' 5/5

  • Much More Retro?! The hell, this used to play on Much Music on the video flow and mega hits...EMO sucks.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • thanks heaps for posting. Brilliant song. Saw them live in Australia in 1999 (I think). I bought the lead singer a drink - he was cute ;)

    x1000

  • thank you so much for posting this Kudtss, hey do you have Any Day Now or absolutely anytime???
