That isn Jiu Jitsu, I don't think. We do something similar in Army Cadets, which is the same as this (trying to get the other dude pinned), except starting from standing.
These Marines would wipe their asses with your brown belt you freaking tool... None of them are trained in Martial Arts - this is hand to hand combat idiot! Hand to hand only comes into play after we have expended all of our rounds from our M-16's and side arms!

It is very unlikely that you do that in Army Cadets. I was a CWO at my corps, and now a member of the CF. It would become a major CHAP issue.

BJJ is pretty gay. I was in that class and young Marines arn't really given the H2H training they should. In the fleet however it's a diff story.
