My 450 electric RC heli main rotor runs around 2,400 rpm with a tip speed about 166 mph. Get hit by that and most likely you'll be visiting the ER. The rotor blades are lightweight but moving fast. F=ma

There has been one fatality that I know of. Guy got hit in the neck by a rotor blade on a large RC heli, 600 class I think and gas powered. Beyond that there have been lots of serious injuries including loss of eyeballs.

it all depends, what you like and what you want, like if you truly love R/C toys, than you would stick with it forever, but occasionally you may get bored of one item, then get a new heli, then get a plane, but you will still love flying.

My brother is still into it 10 years after he started. Depends on your attitude. Get a blade msR to see if flying is for you. Only 169 dollars fixed pitch micro heli. If so I would recommend a Trex 450 to learn collective. CopterX makes good cheap knock offs of those.

Ok this is for everyone asking about 'how much and where to get it'. I'm just astimating here, but judging on the size and detail this is a very nice model. This heli is going to be in the $2000-$3000 range if I had to guess. These things are NOT easy to fly. It takes a lot of practice to get good at flying them and lots of crashes. So for those of you that just got done playing MW2 dream on. This is a hobby that I do love and it take lots of time and money to be good at.
