Matt Smith is a complete miscast - and besides I don't like "him" - and the Nazi's sure did not act out in a big frame against Jewish people: they rather tried to not overdue it before the election.

It's much more interesting to read the diaries of Christopher Isherwood - what a delightful and considerate person. The BBC took it's freedom with the source material and checked off about every cliche available about German history of the 1930's and gay.

After that, he wrote a stage play "I am a Camera, which became 'Cabaret.' This movie is very close to The Berlin Stories, 'the original.'.
