  • People like Hannan don't understand Keynes.

In reality, Keynes recognised the economic cycle of growth and retraction, dubbed by the modern media as "boom and bust."

Keynes believed that we should SAVE MONEY while the economy was doing well and in hard times spend those savings on public services and protecting the economy in hard times.

We've never really had a proper Keynesian in government.

Keynesianism over the Austrian Model any day.

  • @BasilFawlty4444 but this is not the nature of a government with a central bank. Keeping interest rates low encourages long term spending, largely housing. This gives the consumer a false notion that they have enough money to pay down the mortgage, but will only be able to afford it in the short term because their purchasing power will be diminished by the time everyone else who can't afford a house will now own a house.

  • @thekoollemon I think Keynes was talking about the government saving up in good times and spending in hard economic times, in effect shielding the economy through the dip.

In terms of the average person, I believe he referred to money as "a store of value" and couldn't understand why people didn't spend it. This is one of the few areas I don't completely agree with him on.

  • @BasilFawlty4444 Austrians believe in saving, due to their apposition to fiat currency and governmental expenditure to falsely and temporarily stimulate the economy, a commodity backed currency is also usually adopted.

  • @BasilFawlty4444 You are most certainly talking out of your arse, Keynes discourage saving as his whole philosophy is based on massive amounts of stimulus spending when there is slow economic growth ( a "bust", please note that it is government spending which ironically causes the "bust" in the vast majority of cases). Keynes essentially believed in spending, it doesn't matter who does it, or on what, but spend to keep the wheel turning.

  • @XpEAnUTBuTtERsUckSX Keynes certainly did believe in government saving while the economy was providing for itself. But only with the aim of ultimately spending this money in a bust.

And when has government spending caused a bust? The recent recession was caused by Americans not paying their mortgages. The 1929 crash and depression was as a result of the stock market.

But it is true, that Keynes thought the average person should spend what money they had rather than saving.

  • @BasilFawlty4444 There was a bill that George Bush signed which forced banks to make risky mortgage loans to house people that couldn't afford it, also if you recall Fannie Mae was a government sponsored company. The easy credit system the Federal Reserve allows is one that creates the perfect environment for business cycles, they pumped massive amounts of credit into the major banks that held the collateralized debt obligations (mortgage securities) propping them up.

  • @XpEAnUTBuTtERsUckSX Is that all you can come up with?

Isn't the inability for the middle classes to get mortgages an even bigger problem for the economy now? You can hardly blame Bush for passing that law, and if you ask me, the problem lies more in the overvaluation of the properties, not the government.

  • Well said, but no one will listen. We need another crisis to make that happen.

  • i cant beileve we have an honest parliametarian in this world of deceit manipulation.but i have to belive that such a person exists.pray for his courage to reamain during the tough or should i say tougher violent times to come.some one to look up to i 'hope'.'hope' is a good thing.i think of obama, then i question,is it a good thing.Mister hannan, dont be puppet for the 1%.Parliament is filled with such people.stand with the 99%,while they for sure stand by your side.

  • Look the truth is UK&Ireland as well as eastern europe should've never being in the EU, thats it fair play to these UKIP guys getting it right, welcome change in politics.

  • VOTE RON PAUL 2012

A vote for Dr. Paul is a vote for yourself. He wants to limit gov intrusiveness in our lives & allow US to make our own choices. Stop politicians and the elites from thinking that they are so smart that they know how to run our lives better than we do. He is one of the few politicians that will make difficult decisions, he will balance the budget by his 2nd year, while other politicians plan to balance the budget after their term

LISTEN, UNDERSTAND, DECIDE. RON PAUL 2012

  • @86austinc86 ... on a european post ... why on earth are you telling us to vote ron paul? should you not have posted it on a US election video ...

  • Couldn't they buy him off like they must have with all the others?

Maybe the others are too stupid to see the truth.

  • The writing is on the wall, and curiously it looks like Dan's handwriting

  • Dan Hannan For Prime Minister!

  • kaboom baby!

  • This is a true statesman like mind

  • Wel... yes! But you should also say they need new glasses for their short sights - you know... the one that will force them to see farther than their wallets!

  • Any politician who supposrts massive immigration into European countries is a traitor and an enemy of the people. its simple.

  • BEWARE of Mr Hannan, i was an admirer until recently, until i discovered that he is an active adherent to the idea of allowing Turkey into the EU, as is Cameron, Hague and others. Millions of Turks, muslims, will have the right to free movement throughout europe, and guess where most of them will head? Yep, the UK, benefits aplenty, and to filch jobs. A civil war looms. Well done Hannan you fool. Not so smart as i thought.

  • ever notice when the truth is told in a parliamentary setting that all the seats are pretty well vacant?

Seats are full when the machine is in session. be well

  • GO LIONS

  • These evil fucks are worse than gadaffi or saddam. We should do the same to them, we will have to soon, or we will end up like slaves of the EUSSR

  • I'm sure Barruso and his cronies haven't got a clue what Hannan is talking about. Way over their heads.

  • "Big is not beautiful." Well said. Ininite grwoth on a finite planet is not possible.

    It's not insane, . . it's evil.

Which side are you on. Occupy everything.

  • Brilliant!!! ...I can't wait

  • How right he is time to wake up before the S H ONE T hits the fan

  • AND THE WORDS EURO,EUROPE, EVERYTHING WITH THE FUCKING PREFIX EURO IS GREEK FUCKING BARBARIAN.

    DON'T FUCKING USE IT.

    FUCK YOU

  • Hahaha, love the last comment, "You're about to find out"

  • Those who are UNABLE to produce & invent, naturally will lie and cheat their ways to "PARASITE" those who do produce & invent.

PIGS & Eastern European countries and Turkey who WISH to share the tits of mother EU, merely want to "export" their problems INTO EU and enjoy fruits of labors of OTHERS WITHOUT contributing to E.U. ! Such members must be "REMOVED" to save EU. Otherwise, EU will die from "cancers" brought in by parasites and Islamists.

When UK/FR are Islamatized, they die too.

  • This guy is brilliant

  • FUCK GREECE!!!FUCK IRELAND!!!!FUCK PORTUGAL!!!!

  • @MrGrauman FUCK YOU fkn racist.Do you believe in anyfuckingthing???nnot necessarily in god,but even in human motherfucker ?We are all homan beings and you are sitting in front of your fucking laptop swearing..Anorgasmic piece of shit.Do you even know one fucking person from these nations ?

    FUCK YOU.I mean: FUCK YOU

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGrauman SO, FUCK YOU NAZI ECONOMIST.WE HOPE TO GET OUT OF THE FUCKING EUROZONE! FUCK YOU NAZI.WE DO NOT WANT ANY INTERFERENCE WITH YOU FUCKING ANIMALS.YOUR FUCKING MUSEUMS ARE FULL OF OUR TREASURES.GIVE US BACK THOSE TREASURES.FUCKING GERMANS: PAY US OFF THE DEBT FROM YOUR INVASION.

FUCK YOU ALL EUROPEANS,IF YOU DON'T WANT US,WE DON'T WANT YOU TWICE.

    FUCK OFF

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGrauman YOU KNOW THAT JOB.YOU KNOW HOW TO INVADE.AND THAT'S WHY YOU ARE FUCKING BARBARIANS AND A BUNCH OF WORTHLESS NAZIS.GOOGLE "DISTOMO" TO SEE WHAT IS THE CONTRIBUTION OF GERMANS TO THE CONTEMPORARY HISTORY OF EUROPE.A BUNCH OF KILLERS AND LIERS.YOU ARE THIEFS AND YOU SHOULD NOT EXIST.

  • Απάντηση σε αυτό το βίντεο... On 10 June 1944, Distomo was the venue for a collective punishment policy by the Germans. Collective punishment on civilians constitutes a war crime. It was meant as "retribution" for the previous death of three Germans at the hands of local guerrillas, even though the villagers had no relation to the guerrillas.

  • Απάντηση σε αυτό το βίντεο... The 4th SS Polizei Division perpetrated grave crimes with superiors encouraging the soldiers. Among them ripping out the intestines of a baby and splattering them on a close relative.

Decades later, a Greek court awarded restitution to Greek victims, but the German government pressed Greece politically to nullify that decision.

  • @diafkrin And why are you bringing up stuff that happened quite a long time ago? I'm sure that some folks in spain could bitch about the greeks, because they were doing some nasty stuff to iberian women some 2'500 years ago...

  • @MrGrauman THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE.LEARN HISTORY MORRON.

  • @GamD2 Funny you should suggest he hasn't come up with a plan since, he did write a book call "The Plan: Twelve months to renew Britain".

Now you can say plan refers only to Britain, but I think his plan for the PIIGS is fairly clear too. Let them default.

  • I think it's funny that the majority of Europe ignores Daniel Hannan and they see him as a trouble maker where as Americans treat him like a rock star. He's always on talk shows and being invited to speak at events.

    HANNAN FOR PRESIDENT!

  • @RomeAndMarty4Ever He can talk good that's about it, The man has yet to come up with half a plan.

    Talk is cheap...

  • Where are all your politicians? How come no one is there to listen to this man speak?

  • Good for Daniel Hannan!

As a U.S. citizen, I cannot wait to bail out Greece or Ireland or Spain again (as the IMF gets the lion's share of its funding from the U.S.), but at least the Brits still have at least one guy who will impotently stand against Keynes' masterpiece.

    Daniel Hannan. Good man.

  • @mredstriumph

the best solution for the America's devastating economy is simply: create MORE debt in house by printing MORE dollars . . . great for your investors (China and European EURO countries) who will NEVER see any revenue back because of the high interest and offcourse for your kids who have to work till 80 before they enjoy any pension if there is any . . . Who is bail out Who here . . . ?

  • Ron Paul is influencing the whole world.

  • this man seems be the Ron Paul of England? these words he speaks are true...

  • I've been following this channel for about a year now, and I've NEVER seen these seats filled to at least 50%. Does ANYONE attend these damn meetings? Is he the only European who cares about his job?

  • @holdenc96 Him and Nigel Farage.

  • @holdenc96

It's like in China. There is only one truth and it is provided by the Government and in Europe it is the European Commission who provides it. Opinions that differ from this are considered as a contagious disease that must be stopped before it spreads.

I wouldn't be surprised if the MEP's were told by their own party to not to participate in these hearings what are about "unwanted alternatives".

  • @holdenc96 what for to attend? for instance it has been revealed by a private Polish TV station that most of these pigs come just to check in (press the button) at the entrance, then their slary is automaticlly awarded, they just check in and leave, fly back home(not for their private money, I assure you). And what were you thinking?

  • @acotytamwiesz I don't know much about European politics. I'm an American, and we actually yell and scream at our politicians if they don't do things our way. That is a utter negligence to just check in at the door and not attend. That is stealing money.

  • @holdenc96 Why work when you get payed anyway?

  • @holdenc96 he's british, not european ...

  • @simpleasLiam Actually, he's Peruvian.

His father was an Irish immigrant to Peru, and his mother a local. Hispanic, though, not Inca.

He moved to Britain when he was 10. Hence the accent.

And, continentally, the UK is in the continent of Europe, in the same way Bermuda is in North America. The UK can still be an independent state without having to deny which continent it's in, like you clearly want to.

  • Common sense.

  • This man is part of the same people that were bitching when the US was in crisis during the US Civil War. A hundred years later they put a man on the moon. It is beyond childish to complain in times of crisis. Especially because he himself neither did expose to the European people that Greece was lying about it`s finances. He can just as much be blamed. So lets deal with Greece effectively. And the US has 43 States in massive financial trouble. He could just as well have this debate in the US.

  • @EuroSon99 Well this isn't the united states of america my friend so your comment is completely and utterly irrelevant.

  • It is extremely relevant to me. The US has many policies that the leaders in charge of the Eurozone and EU can learn from and copy. Like a European bond market. A European ministry of finance(treasury). The Euro is a brand new currency that as any new currency is inherently weak. It needs time to grow and strengthen. Greece needs to go since they lied to everyone about their finances. I want a strong Euro and have no interest in changing currencies every day i cross the Dutch border.

  • @EuroSon99 actually it was quite strong now it isn't; the eu is primary about poltical union the euro is just a tool to achieve that, so be careful with the thought that having to change currencies, a weak pro euro argument in itself, when you cross a border being inconvenient.

  • Where is this chamber and what is it for? Does Dan just kip on the seat behind and just get up every now and then and spout off about random political stuff? Why does he upload the results on YouTube? Can those men not escape the chamber? Is there a massive spider blocking the exit? Just what the fuck is going on here?

  • this guy speaks simple and clear, the opposite of our complicate false intellectual european politics!

  • @emy1968 The Greeks had a word for the EU bureaucrats. They called them sophists. They are insincere reasoners. They rely on word tricks and verbal diarrhea. Hannan tells it like it is. I wish we had more people like him here in the U.S.

  • Well Done Daniel...Ive still got all the big ukip billboards ready for the next Gen Election....Jesus christ when are people going to wake up to what the "real agenda" of the EU....Its not prosperity for me, you are anyone...Just the Bankers & their "Masters" ( Bilderberg, Rothschild & co) whom we are kept in the dark about.....Give'em hell my friend!

  • Here comes the depression.

  • "Harmonisation doesn't lead to prosperity." I'd say that it does, **provided that it is in fact harmonisation** and not merely blind idiot hammering of square pegs into round holes and pretending that it fits.

  • This is the end, my only friend the end !!!

  • The political decision to open the floodgates to non-White immigration (w/ out a popular vote) WAS deliberate. The political decision to force integrate White neighborhoods was deliberate. The political decision to put out govt. propaganda that encourages interracial coupling was deliberate.

Don’t kid yourself. It doesn’t have to be immediate killing to be genocide under the law. It only need be INTENT that there be fewer Whites coupled with an ACT

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.

  • one very foundational thing he forgot to mention... unlimited growth on a finite planet ends in the mess we see all around us.

  • @shastatodd "one very foundational thing he forgot to mention... unlimited growth on a finite planet ends in the mess we see all around us."

Resources are limited but wealth is not. Wealth is created from development of newer resources. Consider solar technologies... sunlight is not limited, but the materials to make solar pannels is. But the resources we develop come from more abundant resources.

The volume of resources our planet contains is more than human population could ever exploit.

  • "you cannot debase a currency without consequences"

    no truer words spoken

  • Question for EU supporters: Africa for the Africans,Asia for the Asians, white countries for EVERYBODY!

Maybe if Hussein had just flooded the Kurdish villages with non-Kurds and ordered the Kurds to "assimilate" with the non-Kurds to "celebrate diversity" he could have waited a few decades, wiped out the Kurds as an ethnic group, and no one would have accused him of committing genocide?

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.

  • This guy is such a spaz.

  • It's in the system, the corruptable bureaucratic justice system.

Laws do not equal justice. It's an illusion, because of the system.

All countries have been alligned, had the corrupt politicians installed, in a self serving, self regulating and self sufficient (corruptable) BUREAUCRATIC JUSTICE system.

    WE NEED MORAL JUSTICE.

  • Daniel in the UK, Ron Paul in the US. Do we have a few more in the individual european countries?

  • Tax cuts are Keynesian so i guess it's higher taxes and spending cuts for all. Which candidate will run on that?

  • @watch123456 "Tax cuts are Keynesian..."

No, Keynes never advocated tax cuts. Keynesian economics is solely demand-side. Cutting taxes so as to stimulate economic growth is supply-side economics. You're being dishonest and I think you know that. There is no place for dishonesty in debate. Why don't you read Keynes and then understand his General Theory, then at least you could debate his theory in an honest way.

Keynesian economics has a legitimate application in strictly limited ways.

  • For a more rounded view of the economic crisis, and not a one sided one from the British Tea Party/Hannan, please everyone watch Max Keiser.

  • End the Fed! Bernanke to jail!

  • That was just phenomenal. Thank goodness there are people who are willing to stand up and say the things that need to be said.

  • I love the way Daniel is always more-or-less talking to himself in there.

  • What about Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland i thought England was part of the

United Kingdom would a realignment in British politics not be required.

  • How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?

  • Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

  • @tobyluke1 Well he is a nut that just said 90 sec of truth.

  • @g00se99

I refer you to my answer to Peabrain (sorry, balls), although I concede your English is more advanced.

  • He is right to criticise, but this guy is an anti-regulation monetrist who no doubt supported Thatcher and Reagan clocking up debt.

He's just as wrong as those he criticises. Don't be fooled by his posh accent and pretty speeches. He's a nut.

  • @tobyluke1 Not as nutty as you, to nutty to see whats happening.

  • @PEABALLS

It's "too" and "what's". English lesson aside, or perhaps not as I'm about to upbraid your reading skills, you'll not upon re-reading my comment that I do share his appreciation of scale of what is happening. However, I am also aware that Mr. Hannan's personal politics contributed to the situation. He is a de-regulator and supporter of the banks. He is using this crisis to attack the EU. He is right to attack the EU, but his politics are just as economically dangerous.

  • @tobyluke1 You can stick your English lesson up your ass you pretentious twat, How you like them apples ?

  • @PEABALLS

Right.... Truly devastating. Enjoy your new found love for Daniel Hannan and may the ruling class treat you with as much respect as you have for them. Unlikely though.

  • @tobyluke1 Yo wazzzzzzzzzzzzzz up !!! Did daddy touch you when you were little, while your whore of a mother was out sucking cock for crack rock, hows that ? She still cleaning pipes ? it's whats she's best at . If she polishes long enough she may be rewarded, you know turn shit into gold and all that !!!! LOL.

  • @PEABALLS

I hope for your sake you're 15. Although even that doesn't quite explain what's going on in your head. I'd seek professional help.

  • @tobyluke1 Keep polishing and join the ranks of your mother !!!! LOL.

  • Just end the State.

  • I can hear the Death Rattle.

  • 23.7 trillion later, America has been looted yes, it is over

  • Fear not...Today, the Fed and the US taxpayer just agreed to bail out every single broke ass bank on the planet...

  • Kudos to Daniel Hannan for the fact he gives such eloquent but sensible speeches in an almost empty European Parliament on a consistent basis. Because when you when your speeches fall on deaf ears in an almost deserted house then you are tempted to ask why he actually bothers turning up.

  • People who praise Obama's supposed eloquence seem never to have heard a speaker like Hannan. It's a pity that he (Hannan, that is) only gets about one minute (though you can find some of his great longer speeches here on YouTube).

  • Imagine if he were President instead of that sellout socialist people-pleasing union whore Obama.

  • @DexterHaven49Jjust be quiet.

  • @DexterHaven49 Fuck you!

  • You worthless son of a bitch. Obama didn't get involved in any union activity whatsoever. He's not socialist, as politically he's far to the right of the conservatives in britain. Since you're an illiterate f uck, it's doubtful you've read any economics books whatsoever. No, the real problem is that legitimate producing economies are linked with nonproducing economies like Greece. People like you should be shot for your stupidity.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow You ought to be ashamed of your anger, lack of self control, and talk of people being shot for their opinions, etc. Shame on you. You are also misinformed. Obama campaigned and pushed for "Card Check" which denies people secret ballots in union voting. It relies on intimidation and sign up sheets. He also spent stimulus in union bailouts for teachers, auto workers, and is cozy with the AFL-CIO. All you can do is name call and threaten, as you overlook the facts.

  • Event Horizon is upon us. What is hidden WILL BE REVEALED.

Fasten your seat belts, this ride is about to get a LOT FASTER!

  • @MotionArtist3D you are right!

  • Did anybody see the bilge coming from MEP Edward McMillan-Scott today on the BBC! (news/uk-politics-14931432)

  • Dan Hannan & Nigel Farage ... two rare cases of common sense in the EU Parliament.

Sounds like Churchill trying to warn before WW2.

  • @StandUp555 that and Enouch Powell warning of "rivers of blood" back in 1968. Read his speech! In it, Powell said that those who warn are demonized and face the prospect of continued ridicule and thats what happened to Powell back in 1968. Fast forward 43 years later----massive minority riots with further instability likely. The Movie "The Gathering Storm" was wonderful. By the way, I'm a Yank!

  • Daniel the prophet! ...Babylon is on the brink.

  • @DXMediaTV Less a Hebrew prophet than a Cassander: not Cassander the Macedonian king, but I mean the masculine form of Cassandra, warning Troy-Novant against the Greek Wooden Horse

  • It's only a matter of time. And apparently very little at that.

  • Sounds like an urgent message for Obama and congress.

Just like Milton Friedman wasn't a Fascist despite dictators in South America using his ideas.

  • @theredraven But Nixon was a Keynesian. :)

  • Let's hope, as Godfrey Bloom does, that Barroso, Rumpy and the rest get what they deserve..... PRISON! THE BASTARDS!!!

  • I can already hear The Doors's song "This is the end, beautiful friend...". Except that the EU is not beautiful, she's ugly as hell.

  • Nice job.

  • Brilliant!

  • Does anyone know what poem he's saying?

  • @ferreus

    The Storm Cone by Kipling

  • "You're about to find out ... BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!"

  • @0muffins0 I loved how he ended it. I've never seen someone speak so much truth and knowledge in 90 second increments.

  • Wise words from a wise man. I hope they listened.

  • This guy seems ok - poss. needs a bit of a slap to stop him being so precious - but I don't think England has, at least in my lifetime, had such an impoverished political scene. Labour died in 1979 & is just an empty PR shell waiting to be tidied away into history's trashcan; the Tories have been in stasis since Thatcher was brought down, & the Lib Dems r nothing. Cameron/Clegg/Milliband are hollow men who stand for little more than possessing office

Time for a realignment in England's politics

  • @kcirdrab shut your trap you mindless drone

  • @ruffeeh r u a little, ... gay? .... if not yr sounding it : /

    Nothing to be ashamed of

  • @kcirdrab Do you think there is a difference between our three main parties in England? You are VERY wrong if you do.

  • @wardydave take yr point

  • @kcirdrab seriously though, i couldn't put a piece of paper between them, why the ignorant masses in my country keep voting for any lab/tory is beyond me

  • @wadydave the majority of people in England still vote on class lines, working class = Labour, Middles = Tories, with little thought about it. Then there's the floating Middles who ship around voting for whichever party seems to have its act together more at an election

They haven't figured out yet that the ideological death of Socialism in England in 1979 (apart from Brown's recent attempt to covertly resurect it) has led to a professional political class standing for little more than itself

  • @kcirdrab your absalutly right about class voting, although I would argue the political class has been authoritarian for as long as i can remember. i was born in 88 so i guess you might be right lol

  • @kcirdrab I noticed your comments contain only attacks on people's character and nothing of policy or economics. Why is that? If you disagree, why don't you voice your disagreement by stating your reasons?

I'm American so I don't have an opinion about the politics or politicians you spoke of. However, I am an economist and I understand Keynesian economics. Most people don't understand Keynesian economics only applies in the short-term, it cannot create long-term productivity as Hannan said.

  • @DOHC2L I do engage on policies & economics, but personal characteristics are also a key to analysis of the execution of governmental power & is fair game.

There is very little to choose from in England's political scene for the last 2 decades, there is an unhealthy ideological philosophical stangnancy scene where corruption (most of it petty, but on a wide-spread scale) has become rife, the French endemically put up with this, but Anglo-Saxons don't like it, hence the causticity of my comments

  • @kcirdrab "...personal characteristics are also a key to analysis of the execution of governmental power & is fair game."

"analysis of the execution of governmental power" = Political Science.

Personal characteristics are not key to Political Science. Political Science has nothing to do with people's character! I don't deny the subject of personal character is fair game; It's your right to criticize people, especially politicians. But doing so because of your political beliefs is unwise.

  • @DOHC2L Sying that I'm unfairly personally criticizing politicians because of my political views isn't on, what personal criticism have I made that is unfair or untrue to yr knowledge?

  • @kcirdrab "Sying that I'm unfairly personally criticizing politicians because of my political views isn't on"

Your opinion is unreasonable; You didn't state your reasons.

Recall my first question to you: "Why is that?"

Recall my second question to you: "If you disagree, why don't you voice your disagreement by stating your reasons?"

I disagree, and I explained the reason why I disagree in my last reply. Please understand, I mean no disrespect to you, but your motives ought to be questioned.

  • @DOHC2L Listen pal, I'm not getting into 1 of of those endless tit for tat YT exchanges debating semantics with some1 anxious to prove how much cleverer they are compared to every1 else. I see you've been doing this to others & they're leaving messages on yr channel to the effect

I've given u the answer to yr ? about "not personally abusing politicians without reason" in my last post, the fact that this spiked yr guns for the long exchange u were probably hoping for isn't my problem.

    Chill out

  • @kcirdrab "some1 anxious to prove how much cleverer they are compared to every1 else."

Now you're attacking my character! I admit I want to prove myself - but only to myself: I'm an ethicist.

"I see you've been doing this to others & they're leaving messages on yr channel to the effect"

Yes, it's what I do. I'm kinda the opposite of a troll. I engage in honest debate with people. I do not attack people's character, I only attack their wrongful beliefs. Truth is enlightening my friend.

  • @DOHC2L Mmm, the guy having a pop at u on yr channel posts was accusing u of putting words into his mouth that he hadn't said in order to use him as a punch-bag for yr pre-set agenda .... I'm kinda getting the same feeling

  • @kcirdrab You got that backwards. He posted comments attributing words to me that I had never said. He was mischaraterizing me because I wouldn't agree with him. He had said Sarah Palin was a Muslim sympathizer and went on and on about how all our politicians in the U.S. were trying to implement a Muslim takeover of America. He was talking crazy talk. I didn't approach him, he responded to me first. But I made the mistake of replying to him so he trolled me on my channel and lied about me.

  • @kcirdrab You got that backwards. He posted comments attributing words to me that I had never said. He was mischaraterizing me because I wouldn't agree with him. • @kcirdrab "what personal criticism have I made that is unfair or untrue to yr knowledge?"

I haven't claimed your criticism was unfair nor untrue - you are (wrongly) inferring that. I have only questioned your motives. I question YOUR motives for YOUR benefit, not mine! It's possible that your political beliefs are the same as mine. Your criticism might be correct; That is possible. But your ~motives~ are UNtruthful; I know your motives are insincere... I've now explained that to you twice!

  • @DOHC2L ... ahm ... how do u know "my motives r insincere", exactly? : /

  • @kcirdrab "... ahm ... how do u know "my motives r insincere", exactly?"

That's my opinion based on this statement: "personal characteristics are also a key to analysis of the execution of governmental power".

I reject that idea completely; There's no legitimate merit to that type of analysis. Recognize it for what it is: Stereotyping. Stereotyping people for whom you disagree is easy whereas debating issues of contention is anything but easy. Stereotyping causes people to be close-minded!

  • @DOHC2L So you think that the personal character traits of politicians is completely unimportant?

  • @kcirdrab "So you think that the personal character traits of politicians is completely unimportant?"

Absolutely not! I believe politicians should be held to high moral standards. It's only right to criticize a politician's character for immoral personal behavior.

It's never right to stereotype/mischaracterize a politician's motives because of the policies they support. Stereotypes become labels; labels become false narratives; false narratives feed the stereotypes... and on and on and on.

  • @DOHC2L & what about leadership characteristics, in terms of competence & principles, & clarity of vision & ideas ... don't u think they matter?

  • @kcirdrab "& what about leadership characteristics, in terms of competence & principles, & clarity of vision & ideas ... don't u think they matter?"

Of course all those thing matter. Those character traits are fair game. But ~motives~ are far different than those things. I'm very critical of President Obama, but I won't attribute false motive to his terrible leadership. There's a difference between being wrong and being deceitful; President Bush didn't lie about WMD, he was wrong about it.

  • @DOHC2L so .... what are we disagreeing on exactly .. ?
